ghost hunters [fic]
“My name is Victor Mortis, and I believe that powerful things exist just beyond this mortal realm. When I was seven and a half I had an experience with the supernatural. Now, with my team of best friends, I am trying to investigate the existence of spirits. This is our story.”
Victor flipped the video camera off, and then turned to face Seraph and Pilate. “Alright, Team Necromancer, are we ready to head out?”
Pilate tugged at his collar. “Necromancer? Is that our name now? I thought we were Death Dragons.”
Victor propped a hand on his hip, rubbing his chin. “We're in show business now, Pi! Things change!”
“I'm not sure if posting our vlogs on Facebook counts as show business,” Pilate replied meekly, tapping the tips of his fingers together, “Plus our only followers are your dads.”
Seraph wrapped his arm around Victor, smiling. “I, for one, trust Vic’s judgement in managing our team. You are doing amazing, brother.”
“Thank you, Ser,” Victor said, blushing. He stepped forward, gazing at the crumbling structure before them, “Alright, you two can hang here while I scope out the area. I need to check what places have the most spiritual flow.”
Using his cellphone light as a guide, Victor stumbled into the abandoned hospital, leaving Seraph and Pilate at the gate.
“Are we really doing this?” Pilate whispered, “It's a school night.”
“We will be fine,” Seraph murmured, “I am willing to humor Victor. His heart seems to be in this little project, so I do not want to disappoint him. I am sure he will burn himself out in a little while. His phases normally do not last long. Do you remember the dragon one?”
“I actually kinda liked role playing,” Pilate replied sheepishly. “But you don't have to act so condescending about it. I'm sure you've went through weird phases too.”
“I believe the time I became fascinated with calculus would count, so yes.”
“Are you sure you're not some alien? You act like one,” Pilate muttered, shoving his hands into his hoodie.
Seraph raised his brow. “If you are intimidated by my intellect, you should try paying attention in class instead of drawing.”
“Listen here, Seraph-”
“Guys!” Victor shouted, waving his phone as he darted back to them, “You won't believe this! The craziest thing just happened!”
Pilate released Seraph’s collar, going pale in the face as Victor rested on Seraph’s shoulder, winded.
“This-This-” he panted, struggling to catch his breath, “This place is gold! Total ghost wonderland! We're sure to find good footage here!”
“I am happy to hear this, Victor,” Seraph said coolly.
Victor wrapped his arms around Pilate and Seraph, drawing them close. “No more waiting around! The night is young, so let's find some ghosts!”
