Snake 8

Pyre didn't remember having fallen asleep.

At some point he had begun to doze and knew that it was time to head out, but then he'd caught Fen shivering pretty badly out of the corner of his eye as he'd gotten up to leave. He really wouldn't have minded running right over and smothering the guy, because he knew that he ran pretty darn hot after managing to sleep outside in the dead of winter often and not die, but he did have a moral line that he would never cross.

He knew that the guy hadn't put a shirt on to distract him, and he honestly appreciated it. Pyre knew that Fen  knew he was as perverted as they came, and the guy had totally used that little obvious fact to keep his attention on him for a while.

Either way, he knew that he needed to at least lend him a hand before his snake forced itself out again. With his luck it would have probably gone straight for him because of his heat, too. He ended up plugging in a few of the heating blankets that were on the back of the couch as Fen silently watched him with squinted eyes and slightly blue, shivering lips.

Unfortunately, the blankets took forever to warm up, so Pyre had hesitantly sat down beside the guy and carefully draped the three he'd plugged in around them, then nonchalantly leaned against Fen's side as he focused his attention back on the television.

And thus, he awoke some time later beneath three super hot blankets, and wrapped tightly in the arms of one hotter government case worker.

I'm sweating my literal ass off, but fuck if his face isn't adorable when he's asleep.

They were literally forehead to forehead, allowing Pyre to use the limited light from the quiet television to see his features in between the pictures shifting with different colored lights.

His breathing hasn't even settled yet.

The dark circles beneath his eyes also told him that Fen had likely just fallen asleep recently.

I don't get why you guys are trying so hard. Everyone dies one day, why not just let things happen and enjoy your own life? Especially you, mister buff, rich man. Government case worker? You don't need to waste your time on that crap. You are loaded... yet you helped fund that homeless shelter and now you've got me in such a tight hug that I feel like if we weren't each wearing pants that we'd be having sex.

He sighed silently and was about to just let his eyes rest until Fen was awake when he heard someone walk into the room.

Every single muscle in his body was immediately on high alert. His ears traced every single step the person made, and as they began heading toward the TV, likely to turn it off, he began to feel his heartbeat hammering in his chest.

Don't turn off the TV.

He knew that it was Gin, but his brain didn't care. It was a person in a dimly lit room who was walking behind him while he was being restrained. They were also about to turn off the only decent light source in the room.

"S-stop," he gasped out, his plea evidently stopping Gin just in time.

He heard the man turn after a moment of hesitation, but thankfully, he didn't walk closer.

"Sparky?" he whispered nervously.

Pyre was struggling to calm himself and not hurt Fen, so he couldn't manage a reply.

"It's okay. I'll leave the TV on and I'll turn on the little hall light, too. Do you need me to get you out of his arms?" he asked quietly.

The answer to that was going to be no, but Pyre felt something beginning to roil in his stomach and quickly nodded. Gin was there in seconds and, to  his surprise, easily undid Fen's vise-like grip around his waist. They both worked on the blankets until he was free, then resettled them over the slightly-stirring man.

The moment that was done Pyre ran for the bathroom. After having lived on the streets for so long, he was pretty used to fights and needing to find food for himself, but his last few hours with Gin and Fen had brought out a whole new wave of unfamiliar stressors.

He gratefully shut the door and ran for the toilet, not even thinking about locking it. His bowels emptied not a second after he'd sat down.

Thank god. My stomach hurts so bad.

He flushed as soon as he was done so that he didn't stink up the room, but he still felt terrible so he didn't risk getting up after cleaning himself up. There was a calm silence in the air that he appreciated as he tried to just calm himself down. His stomach still felt like it was twisting badly, and after about twenty minutes, he began to feel why.

"Garbage can please!"

There was a tiny one next to the toilet, but it was pretty full and there was no way he wanted to take the bag out to puke into the container. He also didn't want to throw up in the toilet if he could help it. He'd just pooped, and even after flushing, it was kind of gross if he could just get a bag instead.

Gin came running in a few moments later with a small trash can that seemed to belong in an officer, judging from the few pieces of paper in the bottom of its bag. Pyre couldn't even get out a thank you before he lost what remained of the food he'd eaten the previous day.

This is what I get for eating a reasonable amount of food for once. Lesson learned.

He was also beginning to shiver pretty badly. It had been a long time since he'd had enough to eat to even consider the possibility of throwing it up.

He felt a warm towel settle over his shoulder a little while later, making him sigh with relief from the chill that always overtook him when he got sick to his stomach.

"Would you like me to draw you a bath so you can rinse off that sweat and warm up?" came Fen's exhausted, yet gentle voice.

Pyre slowly lifted his head, feeling as if it weighed a hundred pounds. He didn't even think that he'd be able to hold it up at that point, but when a gentle hand settled beneath his jaw, he allowed himself to drop its weight.

"I think a rinse off can wait until tomorrow? You look like you just want to pass out now," Fen said with a sleepy smile and hair that would have had Pyre harder than a popsicle if he didn't feel so terrible.

How do you not have people falling at your feet you sexy god?

"I'm going to take that blank stare as a yes," Fen said with a slight smile as he carefully reached forward and helped Pyre tug his pants up.

He then got him standing and helped him walk over to the sink to wash his hands. It was a sloppy job, and he'd definitely needed the guy's assistance, but it got done, at least.

Walking much more didn't seem very feasible, though. He'd seriously drained all of his energy. He just barely managed to brush his teeth and rinse his mouth out before he felt himself losing his balance.

"I gotcha."

Large, warm arms caught him as he began to drift off right in front of the sink.

Gin...

His light body was easily lifted and carried off to he didn't care where. He was just about asleep when he felt himself being laid down against cool, crisp sheets.

Okay, that feels freaking amazing.

He knew that he was in a bed, and his normal alarm bells were beginning to ring since his brain knew that he didn't own a bed and that he was too tired to defend himself, but he just didn't have the energy to let himself be worked up anymore.

He felt Gin gently guide his body into a more comfortable position as Fen's slimmer fingers got his head settled on the softest pillow that had ever existed.

"You guys could... 'tly run a hotel for... sexy guys and soft 'illows," he mumbled, knowing that he didn't make the most sense, but still proud of his idea.

"That's an adorable idea, Sparky," Gin said as he felt the man beginning to tuck him in with a warm, soft, but light blanket.

"I'll have to run it by my landlord. He's the sexy one that would bring in everybody," Gin added with a light laugh.

Pyre slowly rolled onto his side and squinted open one heavy eyelid.

"Yer fucking hot 's hell... be my t'y bear d'nigh'."

He hadn't meant to say that last part. It had just been a distant mumbled thought, but he couldn't take it back because his mind decided to shut down at that exact moment, finally allowing him to sink into a deep, much-needed sleep.
