Snake 26
Had he known how much work they were going to have to do, Pyre might have stayed home... if he were his old, depressed self. As it were, his panda was currently having the back loop of its car harness, which had been left on to his dismay, loaded with a rolled up set of papers. He'd been delivering documents that needed signed by other workers in the company for certain projects.
He'd asked what some of them were for out of curiosity, but it soon dwindled as he got busy running around. Gin's interest, however, only seemed to grow. He was currently typing while Fen reloaded Pyre's harness, then gave him a big smile and pat on the head.
"You are doing wonderfully," he said before Pyre forced himself to head for the door for his fifth trip.
This time, he needed to go to the floor above, so he ran over to the elevator and gestured at the lady sitting at the receptionist desk. She seemed to be in a daze as she stared at him in shock, but thankfully she snapped out of it after a few waves of his little black paw.
She looked hesitant to open the door for him when she finally came over, but after Pyre turned and showed her the number on the paper rolled up in his harness, she quickly pushed the up button, then stepped into the elevator with him before hitting the button for the next floor.
The ride was quiet, but also a tad awkward. She was staring quite intently with palpable excitement.
I get that I'm fucking adorable, but I have two husbands, sorry.
Of course, she couldn't hear him, so when the elevator chimed and the doors opened, he hurried off. It took a bit to actually find the correct room this time, since the floor they'd gone up to was built more like a cubicle office than an executive one.
Eventually, he ended up finding the correct door. It was a supervisory office, at least, so he didn't have to go walking around in the main busy areas. After a few awkwardly soft knocks, a lot more scratches, and one awkwardly-loud squeak, it finally opened.
Oh no...
Everything in him told him to run, but the old lady standing before him was much faster than one would think. She scooped him up with the speed of a ninja, making Pyre have to fight his panda's instincts and keep his clawed paws tucked against his belly.
It took a lot of effort. Especially when she leaned over and peppered his fuzzy head with old person kisses, but he somehow managed.
"I don't think I've ever seen something cuter than you, little fellow," she said as she calmly turned around and closed the door, effectively trapping Pyre inside as she happily hobbled over to her little desk and sat down in a squeaky office chair.
Pyre allowed her to settle him in her lap, but he was not a happy panda. Thankfully, she took the paperwork from his harness and got busy reading it after adjusting her glasses, but...
I'm going to be here all day at this rate.
He watched as she moved the paper closer, than farther, then closer again, trying to see the normal-sized words. There were quite a few pieces of paper in the stack, and by the time she managed to finish reading the first page, fifteen minutes had gone by.
Save me.
Alas, no one came through the door, so he resigned himself to a very quiet, Fen-less time with grandma-worker. He thought that he'd dissolve into boredom and misery, but when the lady finished the second page she seemed to realize that his panda was still sitting in her lap.
"Oh, here dear. I always keep snacks around for any kids that come to the office, but I haven't restocked recently. I hope this will be okay?" she asked as she reached over and pulled out a little blueberry lollipop.
Oh?
Pyre reached for it immediately, but the lady lifted it out of his stubby arms' range with a happy little chuckle.
"Hang on there, wouldn't want your mommy or daddy getting mad at me for letting you eat the wrapper," she said as she struggled to unwrap the tiny treat.
It's daddy and daddy.
After what felt like forever, the candy was presented to him and Pyre didn't hesitate to chomp down on it. With the sugary distraction in place, he flicked his tail this way and that as he nursed the lollipop and the woman continued reading her papers.
They sat in silence for some time before his ears perked up at the sound of a knock at the door. Said door opened before the woman could even finish looking up.
Husband!
His enthusiasm gushed through their bond as Pyre hurried to fall from the woman's lap without accidentally scratching her. He landed in a fluffy lump on the floor, but that was no deterrent! He was climbing Fen's leg as the man leaned down to lift him the rest of the way within two seconds flat.
Fen, she pat my head, gave me candy, and I think there was mention of a white van...
Fen burst out laughing as he mussed up the fur on Pyre's head before looking over at the woman still sitting behind the desk. They had her attention as Pyre glanced back at her, her smile warm.
"I've never seen you laugh like that, sir," she said, her eyes shining with honest respect and pleasant surprise.
Fen tried to hide his excitement, but ended up not bothering as he gave Pyre a squeeze and the woman a gentle smile.
"I hope my little messenger panda wasn't too much of a bother to you, ma'am."
Bother? I'm not a bother. I'm a sexy, wild beast!
"Oh, he was no bother at all. Please, if he comes to visit again, I would love to spend some time with him," the woman said cheerfully.
"I'm sure he'll be around again. I'm training him to become one of my assistants," Fen said, making Pyre jerk his head up to look at the man.
He was going to argue, but honestly, he didn't mind helping Fen out. All he was really doing was getting some exercise, and that was actually pretty nice after being inside way more than he was used to.
"Oh, how wonderful! I am so happy that you finally decided to hire some. You truly deserve to have some of the burden relieved from your shoulders," the lady said, making Fen blush slightly as Pyre squirmed his way up a bit higher in his arms.
She's not wrong, you know. You work too hard. Me and Gin can help relieve a lot of stress for you at work, in your office, with the door loc—His thought was cut off by a hand covering his little mouth as Fen quickly dismissed himself and ducked out of the room.
They were soon back downstairs and inside of Fen's office, and much to Pyre's delight, the man locked the door before dropping down into his oversized office chair and removing his car harness.
Pyre was about to start talking again when his form suddenly wavered, then shifted.
"That works," he mused as he adjusted a bit so that he could straddle Fen's lap, then leaned forward after tossing his panda's shirt, which thankfully was designed with some Velcro in case of shifting, to the side with its hat.
He could see the guy's hesitation to reciprocate what was about to happen clearly in his expression, so he decided to divert his target and lean upward. The kiss to his forehead was brief, but when Fen gave out a quiet sigh of relief, Pyre knew that it had been the right thing to do.
And speaking of right thing to do...
Glancing to his left, Pyre noticed Gin look away abruptly, clearly trying to hide behind his laptop after being caught peeping.
You can totally peep. In fact, I'm absolutely okay with trading places with you right now.
Gin's brow furrowed as he hesitantly lifted his head just enough so that his eyes could look at them over the top of the computer.
"Switch places...?"
He could hear the faint hope, but also slight confusion in the man's words, so Pyre figured that he'd just make room for him and see what happened. Thus, with reluctant determination, he scooted himself off of his first husband's lap and turned. He then hopped up onto the desk, completely butt-naked, and grinned down at Fen's slightly horrified expression.
"I... forgot your change of clothing in the car," Fen whispered as his face warmed.
He was clearly trying not to stare, but he was also clearly failing at said task.
"You can look all you want. You and Gin are the only ones I want staring at this eye candy," Pyre said as he gestured to himself, earning a coughed laugh from Gin as Fen lifted a hand to try and stifle his own chuckle.
He didn't mind them laughing at him a bit. There wasn't much to look at on him unless someone really enjoyed scars, but he was definitely filling out well and if he actually began working for Fen full time, he didn't doubt that he'd bulk up a bit more as he ran around doing tasks for him all day.
"Hey, how was your guy's day, by the way?" he asked, curious.
He'd been running back and forth for quite a while, then got stuck with the grandma for a good bit of time before Fen rescued him.
"Her name is Mary-Sue, and I could have honestly sent that paperwork by email, but she just lost her husband of forty years last week and has been extremely depressed. I thought that you coming to her office might raise her spirits a little bit," Fen said, making Pyre's face redden a little with embarrassment.
He shouldn't have judged her so quickly, or joked about her.
"It's alright. Nothing was said out loud and you are feeling sorry for it, so we'll just not say anything else about it," Fen said, making Pyre hesitantly nod. He would definitely go visit the lady again.
Since that discussion seemed to be over, Pyre returned to his previous question.
"What have you guys been doing while I've been gone?"
Fen glanced at Gin as his cheeks tinted the slightest bit pink, making Pyre zero in immediately. Gin's face was an even brighter color as he tried to hide before the laptop again.
Pyre was about to leap on the guy from across the desk but managed to reign himself in at the last second. He was slowly getting used to not jumping the gun, or people's bones.
Definitely going to need to take a long shower later.
"W-we just talked a bit," Gin finally said, drawing Pyre out of his thoughts as he slowly got himself situated a little more comfortably on the desk.
"Go on," he said as he looked between the two.
Both of them were quiet for another long stretch of time before Fen replied, his voice sounding almost as nervous as Gin's had.
"Well, he um... confessed to me."
Pyre screeched so loud that his voice cracked as his head jerked back and forth so fast that his neck was beginning to kink. After what felt like an hour, but was likely closer to about a minute, he did lunge off the table and tackle Gin!
Thankfully, the guy moved the expensive laptop in front of him right before he could knock it off the desk. It was no surprise when the poor guy's chair made them fall backwards from the momentum, but Pyre quickly hugged Gin's head to protect him from smacking it against the hard tile. Sure, his arms would bruise, but who the hell cared about that? His Gin bear was way more important.
"I'm so proud of you!" Pyre squealed as he hugged his second husband with excessive enthusiasm.
It seems like his excitement managed to break the awkward tension in the room, because Gin began laughing as Pyre began to pepper kisses all over his face.
He even heard Fen's quiet laughter after a few more moments, making him relax a bit, himself.
Perhaps I overreacted a bit, but dang, I'm so proud!
"Okay, so now we're husbands, yeah?" he asked as he sat up on Gin's waist and looked over his shoulder at Fen with a huge smile.
Except, instead of a confirmation, Fen licked his lips, swallowed, and looked away for a moment before returning his attention to them.
"I can't give him an answer yet."
Pyre's smile vanished in an instant as he looked back down at Gin. He expected him to be a little upset, but to his surprise, the guy was grinning up at him as he lifted a hand to sift through Pyre's soft red hair.
"I am more than happy with his answer," he said, making Pyre tilt his head in confusion.
"I never thought that someone like him would ever even consider looking at someone like me. I was just a roommate. A guy he took pity on and helped out, because honestly, we all know that Fen will never need financial help with such an amazing job," Gin said, making Pyre's heart sink lower in his chest with every word he said.
"But, he didn't brush me off. He's taking me seriously and said that he needs to think about it, since we don't even really know each other all that well," Gin said, pushing himself up with his arms as he spoke.
When he finished, he leaned the slightest bit closer and pressed a kiss to Pyre's parted lips.
I'm was to supposed thing do...
His thoughts didn't seem to be connected to his brain any longer as Gin deepened the kiss for a split second before retreating with a deep blush as he cleared his throat.
"A-anyway, thank you for lending me your courage."
Pyre still wasn't able to form a complete sentence, even in his mind, so he simply nodded slowly. Thankfully, Fen rescued him as one of the man's hands appeared to the right, drawing his attention.
"Come on, we've done quite a bit today since you two have helped me out. Let's go get an early dinner and call it a night?" he said as Pyre took his hand, allowing Fen to help him up and off of Gin.
Can I call it an orgy?
Fen barely even skipped a beat as he took the long coat he'd brought with him and tugged it onto Pyre's shoulders, then buttoned it so that he wouldn't be flashing everyone in the building as they headed out.
"Of course, but I must warn you," Fen said as he leaned in a bit closer, making Pyre lean back the slightest amount nervously.
"An orgy, while generally considered a sexual event, can also legally be defined as just a really crazy party."
After completely ruining his hopes and dreams, Fen grinned and took Pyre's hand, then tugged his forlorn self from the office. He heard Gin following them onto the elevator, but there was nothing that could fix the damage Fen had just done to his mind.
"...—er together."
Wait, what?
His mind suddenly crystal clear, Pyre looked up at Fen, then to Gin and back.
"Who said that? What was the er? I want to do the er together!"
Both of his husbands looked like they were about to die holding back their laughter as they stared at each other, then back to him, but no matter how much he bugged them on the ride home, neither would repeat whatever had been said.
