The summer storm penetrated the castle windows.

I sat in the great hall, going over the last of my books before exams tomorrow.

It feels as if school started just yesterday, and now it was almost june.

The year went too fast.

Though I'm glad it's over.

This whole year consisted of being bullied by Pansy, hanging out with Draco, Watching Cedric's quidditch games, and ignoring mother and father's letters.

I met some of the ghosts too, they're quite nice.

Always let me join in on their fun.

Me and Hermione ALWAYS go to the library every wednesday and sunday to check out new books and study.

She gets my love of books and I love her for that.

Otherwise we don't really get to see eachother since she has other friends.

Why do I have to go home? Why can't I just stay in the summer?

Another 3 months I get to spend in the woods away from everyone, how lovely.

I saw students start going out the front entrance so I quickly followed with my trunk in hand, rolling behind me.

We all traveled down the gravel and dirt path towards the carriages, in which they would take us to the train platform.

I sat in some random carriage with some older kids who definitely knew my brother, meaning they knew me.

"Hi Lily! Your Cedric's little sister, right? He is so handsome." They would chirp in my ear.

All of their voices sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

Stupid third years..

Thank the lord the carriage ride wasn't long, I was so exhausted and these girls' constant chatter was driving me insane.

Pansy kept me up ALL NIGHT.

She never leaves me alone even for a moment.

Pansy is also Draco's friend, so she's EVERYWHERE.

I'm never alone with Draco anymore and it sucks.

I quickly got off the carriage and onto the train.

Finding a compartment as soon as I could and saving it for Draco, Vincent, and Gregory.

As soon as I saw his white hair I pulled him into the compartment along with Crabbe and Goyle.

"Phew!" I breathed.

"You alright Lilith?" Gregory asked.

"Fine, really. Just was a bit nervous," I answered.

"About what?" Vincent tried to say before Pansy, Millicent, and Daphney all bursted through the compartment door.

"Hello Drakey." She cooed, before she made eye contact with me, "Snake Girl.."

"Pugface," I returned her greeting.

"Get out, this is our compartment and we want to sit."

"Finders keepers losers weepers," I mocked.

"Oh shut up you whore, get up."

"Over my dead ass,"

"That could be arranged!"

"Enough!" Draco yelled, "Pansy get out, and don't you dare call Lilith names again!"

I started laughing while Pansy and her goons ran off.

"Thanks for that Drakey," I snickered in a mocking tone.

He hit me playfully in the side as the train started to move.

I yawned and laid my head on the window.

"Rough night?" Vincent looked at me.

"Terrible night. Pansy kept me up all night with her constant bickering with Millicent." I closed my eyes.

"Lily, you can just rest on my lap if you want? It would be more comfortable and I don't mind." Draco gushed.

I chuckled and picked my head back up.

Like he said, I laid my head down on his lap, looking up at him and fell asleep.

He acted as if I wasn't there, just twirling my hair on his finger index finger and talking to the boys.

I actually slept really good, just with him being there.

I guess that's just what friends are for.

I stepped through the doorway.

Mother and father were silent the whole ride home.

Cedric tried to start a conversation, but none of us were interested.

"Lilith Annalise Diggory, we'd like to speak with you." Mother said in a sharp tone.

Full name... not good

A hiss left my lips but I obliged.

Cedric mouthed good luck to me as I sat across from my parents at the dining room table.

"Yes?" I asked sweetly.

"You've been ignoring us all year, child. Why are you disrespecting us?" Mother asked in a calm tone.

Father was furious.

I really messed up didn't I?

"I'm sorry. I didn't think you even wanted to talk to me." I responded, looking down at the table.

"You will look up when you address us, child!" Father hissed.

I couldn't believe him.

"Look! I'm sorry okay!? You both haven't been so supportive either! Its not my fault im the disappointment!!" I screamed.

Father fiercely stomped over to me and backhand slapped me across the face.

"Don't you ever disrespect our authority again!" He barked in my face.

The pain shot through my skin, my eyes watered.

"Lily-" Mother cried out before I ran upstairs, slamming and locking my door.

I touched the red skin on my face... he hit me hard...

I guess nice people have a dark side too...

But really.. my dad? I really was the disapointment.

A light knock was heard from my door.

"W-Whos is it?" I sniffled.

I heard Cedric's warm voice through the door crack, "Your favorite brother.."

I got up from my place on the floor and opened the door and let him in.

"Youre my only brother.." I responded, locking the door back again.

"I know that," He eyes the red hand mark on my cheek.

I noticed and covered my cheek, "I know youre looking at it.. and yes it was dad.."

Cedric put his hands under my arms and lifted me up.

I wrapped my legs around his waist and held on tightly.

He hugged me so close, it was like being wrapped in a warm blanket of love.

I sniffed in again as my nose started to run.

We stayed like that for a while.

He didnt want to let go and neither did I.

Best big brother ever.

"I love you Ceddy..." I whimpered, feeling my eyes fill up with tears.

His hand rubbed my back.

"I love you too little bear.." He said stiffley.

I started flat out sobbing.

I almost didnt care if my parents heard me, Cedric was always going to here to protect me.

Cedric was my lifeline, my rock, he was my big brother.

Big brothers will always protect their little sister.
