Chapter 68- The Calm Before the Storm
I return to the common room holding my wrapped arm. A blister had already started to cover my arm. And of course, today was the day that Madam Pomfrey had run out of burn cream. Making it so I had to use a makeshift cream that apparently was contaminated and made my arm worse. Upside I was excused from tomorrows lessons to go and get my arm sorted out.
"Love whats wrong with your arm?" Draco asks sitting on the couch waiting for me as normal. I smile upon seeing him.
"Its nothing just a little burn," I say to him. He looks at me with worry in his eyes, pressing for more. "Harry just knocked over a vial mixed wrong during our tutoring session. But Madam Pompfrey didn't have anything left for burns after that incident in the third year's potion class."
"Potter hurting my girlfriend? Does he have a death wish?" Draco asks as he gets up and walks towards me.
"It's fine Draco. It was an accident," I say to him.
"And I'll accidentally hex him as he's walking to class," Draco says. I roll my eyes as he just smirks. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah it just hurts a little," I say as I take his hand with my good arm, "but I'll live."
"How did that idiot even manage to knock over the vial?" Draco asks sounding upset, "I mean and onto you. I mean you gave up your time to help him and he justs knocked a vial on you? What a git."
"Draco I'm fine," I say as I tighten my grip on his hand. He sighs before looking back to the boy's dorms.
"Wanna stay with me tonight?" He asks, "please?" I nod and he smiles leading me back to his dorm. Inside his roommates were sleeping soundly as we slip into bed quietly. As I pull his blankets around us he wraps his arms around me pulling me towards his chest. I could stay like this forever.

The next morning as Draco and I sat down for breakfast Lunar dropped my copy of the prophet down in front of me. As I reach for it Draco grabs my hand. "Love, shouldn't you hurry to eat to rush to the hospital wing?" Draco suggests. I roll my eyes before leaning my head on his shoulder.
"I know you're worried about me but come on I won't waste that much time on reading The Daily Prophet," I say to him. I could see the boys around us look at him before quickly looking away. I pull my hand away from him and grab my paper. Starting to unroll it.
"I just-" He starts making me look from the paper to him, "I just feel like we don't spend that much time together."
"Awe Draco darling," I say as I switch the paper from my good hand to my bad hand. Placing my good hand on his cheek, "I promise that tonight we will spend it together." I pull away from him and turn back to the paper unrolling it completely and reading along. But the headline made me freeze.
MASS BREAKOUT FROM AZKABAN MINISTRY FEARS BLACK IS "RALLYING POINT" FOR OLD DEATH EATERS
"What?" I ask breathlessly as I look at the pictures of the Death Eaters. Bellatrix Lestrange, Antonin Dolohov, Augustus Rookwood, and more. Each with their crime listed below them. "T-this can't be." I look up at the boys around me, all of which were busying themselves with eating. I felt a pit of fear and disbelief brewing inside me. How the hell did this happen? I start to read the article as they all avoid looking at me.
"We find ourselves, most, unfortunately, in the same position we were two and a half years ago when the murderer Sirius Black escaped,' said Fudge last night. 'Nor do we think the two breakouts are unrelated. An escape of this magnitude suggests outside help, and we must remember that Black, as the first person ever to break out of Azkaban, would be ideally placed to help others follow in his footsteps. We think it likely that these individuals, who include Black's cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, have rallied around Black as their leader. We are, however, doing all we can to round up the criminals and beg the magical community to remain alert and cautious. On no account should any of these individuals be approached." I finish reading and look at Draco.
"I didn't want you to read it and be upset," He says, "the death eater who killed your dad was one of the ones who escaped." I look along the pictures again and see the man. My mind replaying the scene of seeing him murder my father with a smile again and again until I was almost sick. I feel someone grab my chin moving my head to look at them. But the tears welling in my eyes blocked my view. "I'm right here. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise. Love, I promise no one will lay a hand on you." Draco slowly comes into view as tears start to stream down my face. "I love you okay. I won't let anything happen to you." He places both of his hands on my cheeks. "Breathe." I follow the order and start to take deep breathes with him finally coming down from my panicked state. He uses his thumbs to wipe away the tears from my face then pulls me into his arms. Stroking my back calmingly. As I pull back from him I grab the paper.
"I'm going to the hospital wing," I say to him as I get up from the table.
"Babe I can go with you-"
"No you have class," I say to him, "I'll see you soon okay Draco?" He nods and I kiss him quickly. Before turning off and rushing through the great hall. Practically running through the building to the bathrooms. Reaching moaning Myrtle's abandoned bathroom and rushing into the stall. Puking once again.
"Such a mess," Myrtle says from outside the stall, "how do you get a man like the blonde but I don't."
"Shut it, Myrtle," I hiss in a tearful voice as I hold myself over the toilet.
"You know I think you spend more time in here vomiting and causing trouble than using it as an actual bathroom," Myrtle groans as I start to puke again. "It's truly disgusting." As I sit back up and wipe my mouth I sigh.
"I can't help it," I whimper as I flush the toilet. I stand up and walk back to the sink to wash my hands. "I wasn't here okay?"
"Who am I gonna tell?" She pouts. I nod before walking from the bathroom to the hospital wing.

As the days went on more issues came along. The news about the death eaters had everyone on edge. Teachers, students, everyone except Umbridge. Even worse Umbridge was cranking Decree's left and right. My personal least favorite is the one where boys and girls had to be 8 inches away from each other. Which was awkward as hell when walking with Draco. But man where the gay kids laughing their asses off at our struggle. I mean damn they found it so amusing. The mixture that got spilled on my arm caused a very severe burn and since it was from a potion Pomfrey and I had to go through a week-long treatment of soaking my arm in another solution to lessen the effects. Meaning I couldn't use my dominant arm for anything. So casting spells and writing wasn't happening. And to top off it all Hagrid was put on probation meaning Umbridge was there for every one of his classes and his lessons got boring.
On the upside of everything because of the tensions of everything, the DA lessons were going well since everyone was so eager to let out their frustrations and work. Although not being able to do any wand magic sucked.
But working on Occlumenly with Harry was a nightmare. As I friend I would never tell him this. But I fear he won't get any better and that we are gonna be stuck in this awful cycle of lessons for nothing to happen. And Ron's stupidity placing the blame on Snape. When really it was just no one's fault. Snape and I were trying hard, while Harry was trying hard too. The stress was getting to us all.
Thankfully the weekend had come and Hogsmeade was calling me.
"Y/n!" Draco calls again as I start to fall behind the group.
"Sorry," I mumble as I quickly move to catch up with him.
"It fine, are you okay Love?" He asks as he takes my hand. I smile.
"Just happy for our date," I say to him, "we haven't had as much time for us as we should have." He leans in and kisses my cheek happily. We keep moving until we reach the shops where we finally stop. The group moving ahead of us.
"We'll be at the three broomsticks," Theodore calls out as he leads the others away. I look at Draco.
"I heard about a tea shop here. Its nice for dates apparently if you want to go," Draco says, "it is up to you. We don't have to-"
"We can try it," I say as I tighten my grip on his hand. He nods and starts to lead us through the streets until we reach a bright small little tea shop. As we got inside I was smacked in the face with frills and pink. "Oh Salazar's sake," I giggle.
"I'm hoping this is just for valentines day," Draco sighs. He leads me to free table since most of the school's couples had decided to show up here. A couple feet from us was Roger Davis and one of his girlfriends sucking facing like always. A woman with a black shiny bun approaches us.
"What can I get you, m'dears?" She asks. I look at Draco who nods.
"Two coffees," Draco says. She nods and walks off leaving us alone. I look around at the couples around us all being cutesy and some kissing over the table.
"Its sick all of this," I snort. He nods.
"It is," He chuckles then smirks at me, "but if you can't beat em, join em," I smirk and nod.
"Well if we must," I joke as I scot my chair closer to him so I wasn't leaning over the table. He places his hands on my waist as mine hold the sides of his face. We move in sync, our eyes closed, just enjoying each other.
"Here," A female voice says. I pull away from Draco and open my eye to see the lady from before placing down two coffees. I take a quick sip from mine as Draco smiles politely at the lady. As she walks off I place my cup back down. The bell chimes signaling another couple walking in, I look at the door to see Harry and Cho awkwardly shuffling in. They snag the table by ours and I smile at Harry before looking back to Draco.
"Well love, I say we go back to what we were doing before," Draco says. I smirk and lean back into him reclaiming our position before. He slips his tongue into my mouth exploring as we fight for dominance.
"I thought," I hear Cho sob, I pull back from Draco to see her and Harry. She was actually crying. "I thought you'd u-u-understand! I need to talk about it! Surely you n-need to talk about it t-too! I mean, you saw it happen, d-didn't you?"
"Well—I have talked about it," Harry says in a whisper, "to Ron, Y/n, and Hermione, but—"
"Oh, you'll talk to Hermione Granger!" she says shrilly, her face now shining with tears,"But you won't talk to me! P-perhaps it would be best if we just... just p-paid and you went and met up with Hermione G-Granger like you obviously want to!" Harry looks confused and annoyed.
"Cho?" he says weakly.
"Go on, leave!" she says now crying into a napkin. "I don't know why you asked me out in the first place if you're going to make arrangements to meet other girls right after me... How many are you meeting after Hermione?"
"It's not like that!" Harry says. She jumps up from the table.
"I'll see you around, Harry," she says dramatically, and hiccuping slightly she dashes to the door, wrenched it open, and hurried off into the pouring rain.
"Cho!" Harry calls after her. I stifle back a laugh as Harry tosses down a gallon and rushes out behind her. I look at Draco and sigh.
"He can really pick em," Draco snorts. I roll my eyes before taking a sip of my coffee. I look around at the couples to see them returning to each other.
"This place is lame," I say to him, "how about we just go back to the castle and make out in your dorm?"
"That sounds amazing," He says as he places some money on the table. We both get up and he seizes my hand leading me back to the school. Once we reach the common room he quickly leads me back to his room. Obviously eager of whats to come. I giggle slightly as he pulls me towards his bed. He lets go as he sits down and I settle on his lap. Automatically resuming what we started at the tea shop. But he quickly moves to my neck, pushing my hair out away from my left side as he nibbles and sucks along it.
"O-oh my," I whimper. He pulls back before laying me on the bed and hovering over me. Seconds later resuming his position. "If you leave a hickey!" He pulls back and chuckles.
"Oh I definitely did," he says. He moves back to my mouth as his hands move slightly around my waist. As his grip tightens my shirt lifts up slightly. I could tell he wanted to rip it off. But out of respect for me wouldn't until I said something. As I start to pull it up for him the door swings open.
"Hey, Draco we brought you back- Bloody hell!" Theodore says. Draco pulls back and I readjust my shirt as I slid away from him. "Disgusting both of you."
"I have to go I have some studying to do," I say to him. Draco nods as I quickly rush past the guys.
"Shut up," Draco huffs at them as the door shuts behind me. I smirk as I hear the boys teasing him through the door. Maybe next time we can just lock the door.
