Rachel was getting dressed she just woke up after been awake most of the night. After Sebastian had returned to the living room from sean's room it had been so awkward between them they had both practically ran to their rooms.

Rachel had planned to go home first thing in the morning but she had slept late so now she had to face Sebastian.

she opened the bedroom door and walked out...

"Mommy" isabella said running to her to give her a cuddle.

"Hey sweetie" she said cuddling her daughter.

" come on mommy we are painting plates" isabella said taking hold of her hand and leading her into the dining room where she couldnt help but burst out laughing. Sebastian was covered in paint.

" daddy lost his temper with the tube of paint" sean said giggling.

" the tube was faulty" Sebastian said

" daddy you squeezed it to hard" sean said

"I did not" Sebastian said

"Did too" sean giggled

" nope the tube was faulty" Sebastian said.

" mommy come and paint" isabella said taking her seat next to sean leaving rachel to sit next to Sebastian.

" im painting bella and i on the seesaw" sean said showing rachel his plate.

" im painting a horse because they are pretty" isabella said

" can you guess what mine is" Sebastian asked her showing her his plate which he had painted a meerkat on it weaing a dalton blazer.

" you knew kurt called you that " rachel asked

" he said he didnt like my smirky meerkat face" Sebastian  said

" mommy what are you going to paint on yours" isabella asked

" i dont know" rachel said

" paint barbra" isabella said like it was such an obvious idea.

"Im not a good enough painter to paint her" rachel said

" what about a gold star" Sebastian said

"How do you know about my love of gold stars" rachel asked.

" do you remember getting an anonymous valentines card with a hand painted gold star" Sebastian asked

"Yes" rachel said

" well its not anonymous anymore and as for how i know you used to stick gold stars on your coffee cup at the lima bean" he said.

" mommy" isabella said

" yes sweetie" rachel said still trying to process that he had sent her a valentine card.

" whats a valentine card" isabella said

" its a special card sent on valentines day" rachel said

" it means love" sean said

" hows the plates coming on" Sebastian asked

Once the plates were completed rachel told Sebastian that she and isabella were going home which meant both children were now sulking.

" you will see each other on monday" rachel said as they headed to the door.

" but i like it here" isabella said

" and its boring with just him" sean said pointing to Sebastian before pouting.

"Thanks" Sebastian said.

Later

"Isabella its time for bed" rachel said she was exhausted although she was getting better after been sick she was tired and isbella had been difficult since they left Sebastian and sean.

" can we go to the park tomorrow " isabella asked walking into her bedroom looking upset.

" yes" rachel said

" with sean and Sebastian " isabella asked beaming at her.

" i dont think so sweetie" rachel said

"But i cant go to the park without sean who willi seesaw with" isabella asked dramatically.

" would you like me to read you a story" rachel asked

" ok" isabella asked.

Meanwhile

Sebastian was laid on sean's bed reading a comic to him...

"Daddy" sean said

"Yeah" Sebastian said

"You said you sent rachel a valentines card" sean said Sebastian cursed under his breath hy had he said ot infront of him.

" yeah" he said

" when" sean asked

"Years ago" Sebastian said

"Do you love her" sean asked Sebastian looked at sean in shock of been asked that.

"Well do you" sean asked

" look sean lets just read..."Sebastian started to say.

"No daddy" sean said

" sean" Sebastian said

" the last few days have been the best ever"sean said

" im glad you enjoyed yourself you and isabella are good friends " Sebastian said.

" best friends but i didnt mean bella and i daddy you have been different " sean said

"Different " Sebastian said

"Happy" sean said.

" i think you best be getting to sleep " Sebastian said

" daddy why did rachel want to leave" sean asked

" sean just leave it" Sebastian said

" did you do something wrong" sean asked

"Sean se just please go to sleep" Sebastian said.

"just. Tell her your sorry then we can be a family"  sean said

" sean its not that simple now its time to go to sleep" Sebastian said.

Later that night

Sebastian was laid in bed thinking about the last twenty four hours how he and rachel had almost kissed and how things were arkward between them now.

As he laid there his bedroom door opened and in walked sean who climbed into bed with him.

" im sorry if i upset you daddy"sean said Sebastian felt his heart break looking at his young son who he pulled into a cuddle.

" you could never upset me" he said.

"Daddy" sean said

"Yeah" Sebastian answered

" it is better with them with us isn't it" sean asked Sebastian looked into his sons identical green eyes and nodded.

"We should to see them"sean said

"We will go in the morning" Sebastian said.

"No daddy we have to go now" sean said

"Sean its almost midnight" Sebastian said

" so what" sean said Sebastian looked at him he saw so much of himself in him right now the determination etched on his face.

"Daddy i have my best friend you should have one too"sean said.

" get dressed" Sebastian said.

Meanwhile

Rachel was sat on the couch sipping a mug of hot chocolate she was tired but couldnt sleep isabella was curled up on her lap unable to sleep either.

Rachel felt bad That isabella was missing sean given the reason they had come home was because she and Sebastian were uncomfortable around each other.

"Mommy" isabella said

"Yes sweetie" rachel said

" are you sad" isabella asked

"Am i sad" rachel asked

" you seem sad to me" isabella said as the door bell buzzed.

"Stay here" rachel said to isabella wondering who it might be at this time past midnight. She looked through the peephole and saw Sebastian stood there she opened the door and sean hurtled inside.

"Sean" isabella exclaimed.

"Bella"sean called back as Sebastian walked in.

"Hi" he said

"Hi" she said.

" sean why dont you show isabella your new toy "Sebastian said sean nodded and he showed her his new toy.

" can we talk" Sebastian asked rachel nodded and they headed to the kitchen.

As they reached the kitchen rachel turned to ask if he wanted coffee but didnt get the chance as the moment she turned around Sebastian crushed his lips to hers.

They stood there kissing for a long time until the sound of cheering caused them to break apart and they saw their kids happily jumping up and down.

Later

Sebastian put up a camp bed in isabella's room for sean and both kids were now asleep after tiring themselves out celebrating.

Rachel was now laid in bed cuddled up to Sebastian she felt odd she had always thought love was supposed to be a grand thing an epic thing. What she felt now was calm because now everything felt right she felt safe she didnt feel lonely anymore. She felt content in his arms she felt blessed that her daughter would now have a father in her life who would protect her. She felt blessed  that sean wanted her be to his mom and that now the four of them would have what they needed. She knew in her heart that this was it she had found her soulmate everything just fell into place now that they were together.

" i love you" she said in no more than a whisper.

" i love you" he said and they kissed which lead to a rather long make out session.

Epilogue

Six months later Sebastian propsed with the help of both kids and six montha later they got married.

Not long after their got married they discovered they were pregnant and were pleased tgat the kids were happy about it. In time rachel gave birth to a little boy who they called harry who looked like both of them. Sean had been very protective of rachel whilst she had been pregnant and was now a mommy's boy and isabella was a daddy's girl and Sebastian doted on her she had him wrapped around her finger and he knew it and didn't care.

Rachel and Sebastian had always known their children's first day at school would be a significant day but they hadnt realsied juat how life changing that day turned out to be.
