Chapter Fourteen
,,Orphanage is way better than parents that don't care about you. That way,you know someone might be there, caring ,but they can't  reach you,Swan. Way better. Hope makes it better."

[EDITED]

Emma

"So,how did you two end there in the first place?" I simply say as I swing around, playing with my hands tucked in my pockets.

"You know,we bought some decorations." He says and my eyes widen in surprise.

"In the last minute? Literally last minute. " I say, emphasising the last words and he giggles, letting his gaze fell on the ground.

"Yeah, kind of a moment thing." He says and I chuckle, walking with him to Ruby's . "What about you? Sticking with the girls even for Christmas?" He asks, wiggling his brows at me and I smile, looking at the ground. Suddenly,my mood switches and I start being sad.

"Yeah." I say a little unsure as I feel my eyes going a little wet. I try blinking faster to scatter the tears, but they still threaten to fall on my rosy cheeks.

"And why is that,Swan,if I may ask?" He says, bending a little so he can look at my face. I bite my lip, trying to keep inside my emotions, but I can sense I am at the edge of breaking. The knot in my throat isn't helping at all. "Oh,I'm sorry,if you don't want to say anything,it's OK." He turns his head in the other direction, but I gasp and simply snap my head up,prepared to blurt it out.

"I'm an orphan." I say,a little softer than I planned it to get out and Killian immediately looks backs at me simpatetically. He didn't know. He couldn't have known. Without even blinking,he immediately wraps his strong possesive arms around be,and I fit perfectly in his embrace, breaking out on his shoulder as he sweetly rubs my back to calm me down.

"I'm so sorry,Swan,I didn't know." He says, feeling a little guilty for my mood change.

"No,it's okay,it's not your fault that my parents decided that they don't need me." I said and he frows, while lifting my chin so I can look him in the eyes.

"Look,Swan,I know we weren't always on good terms. But don't think I didn't notice how amazing you can be sometimes. Maybe they had a reason, maybe they can't reach you. I understand you better than you think I do." He says and it's my turn to frown, and the wind blows the strands of hair I had on my forehead. Killian's dark brown hair is ruffled against the wind, making him look more emotional and more mature. For a second,I see him resemble more with the Killian I dreamt about.

"You do?" I say as Liam's head turns around, looking for us. We are half way the road to Ruby's house and he's in front of us,walking with the girls.

"Brother, why didn't you introduce me to these amazing ladies before?" He asks and the girls roll their eyes. Liam tries to flirt with all of them, but sadly he gets rejected every time.

"Sorry,Liam, they're all taken." He says and he suddenly becomes uninterested, walking on his own.

"Swan, what I wanted to say..." He says,as soon as Liam turned around. "Is that I understand you. My parents don't really care about me and my brother. Bussiness is more important than their kids,so we always are on our own. They dropped on me this Christmas because of a bussiness trip like they do every year. And you're more lucky than I am. To tell you something, orphanage is way better than parents that don't care about you. That way,you know someone might be there, caring, but they can't reach you,Swan. Way better. Hope makes it better."

I looked shocked back at him and giggled, taking him aback "You got a whole motivational speech over there." He chuckles, looking at the ground.

"I tried." He answers honestly and throws away a rock with his feet.

"Who are you and what did you do with the Killian I know?" I ask and he frowns, with a smug smile on his face, nudging slowly my arm and I rub the place where he hit me,trying to look like it hurt me.

"You asshole, that hurt. Yep,it's definitely still you." I say, gulping and he chuckles, combing his hair back with his fingers.

"She's got a point." Liam turns to us,balancing just on one leg and bending to us.

"You traitor." Killian says in a high voice and I hold back a laugh as his anger boils. "I thought you were on my side."

"If you knew me well,I always side with beautiful ladies." He says and I feel my cheeks going red. Someone who is not a girl thinks I'm beautiful for the first time and it actually feels good.

"Now you intimidated her, brother." He says and I roll my eyes, slightly annoyed.

"What the hell just happened?" Regina comes to my side, frowning, confused. I raise my shoulders, pursing my lips together.

"I have no idea." I say honestly, shrugging and trembling at another cold  breeze as I hug myself in order to keep in the warm.

Liam and Killian left after we arrived to the Ruby's and she was so angry at us that her cheeks turned red,but when she heard the reason, relief grew on her fine features. We spent together what was left of Christmas and the rest of the holiday,as three friends so happy to finally found each other.

On New Years Eve,we went to a party organised by Regina at her place that was also huge like Robin's,but since their together,it's natural. I put on a red tight dress, ending mid-tigh and nude heels,I let my hair fall in locks on my shoulders. Ruby made me get off my glasses and I obeyed, since she would have made an entire scene based only on the color scheme of my  outfit and the 100 mistakes every girl makes when choosing an outfit based on color. I put my other heel on while balancing on one fit and we left.

Regina waved at us with a glass of wine and she led us to the bar to have a drink.

"Miss, what can I get you?" Someone asks behind me,as I sit on a chair, next to the counter and look around the place. The strong accent hit me and I recognized it as British.

"Hmm?" I say, while turning around. When I look back at him,I see a handsome man with brown hair and blue eyes, looking focused at me. "Oh,sure. A Martini, please." I demand and he turns around, pouring the drink in a glass. "Here you go." He says and hands it to me,as I drink it fast. His eyes wide in surprise and frowns at me,grinning.

"Ugh." I groan, feeling the alcohol burning down my neck. "That was refreshing." I say,and he smiles at me.

"Tough day?" He asks and I frown at him.

"Tough month." I say and he chuckles,so soft that I could hear just the end of it. I turn around once more, searching for something in the crowd.

"Looking for something?" He asks and I turn around. Then,a smile appears on my face, and he looks detensioned.

"No,not really. I have here what I am looking for." I say, looking on the counter to see some shots there. I get one down my neck and smile.

"I hope you don't mean you were looking  just for  booze." He grins and I look one more time up and down at him. The bartender looks even hotter after a few shots.

"My name's Emma." I say and he grins, giving me his hand to shake it. His features are light and I have one second to take it before my vision gets blurry.

"Graham,nice to meet you,Emma."

Boom, cliffhanger. Got Graham back in the game. A lot of you thought that they were cursed, but it won't make sense because Liam and Graham are in it and they're dead. So what is it? #nospoilers. Hope you enjoyed this chapter too,so close to 1.5 k.

Love and God bless,
Thea.
