RoyalFlame: Let's Only Think About Love
Requested by: LillianDuncan
Before I begin I want you all to know about a new theme I'm trying for some of these one shots. Each one will be titled after a song, movie quote, or quote from a book. At the end of each one shot I'll include the whole quote or a lyric from the song. This one is the first test of this. I also want to make a game out of it to see if someone can guess where the title comes from. Also if you aren't aware this is an OC ship with Cinder Fall and Lilly's OC Charlie Charme and the edit is made by hers. The song in the media is what I imagine they would dance to.
Cinder was standing at a mirror looking at her reflection as Ruby adjusted the hem of her dress and Weiss zipped up the back.
"You look great Cinder," Ruby said.
Cinder smiled. Her numerous scars and burns were still there on her face and body from all the battles she fought but she knew that Charlie didn't care so why should she?
Today was going to be perfect, very soon Cinder would be walking down the aisle to wed Charlie Charme, her long time boyfriend and the prince of Atlas. That is until he gave the throne up in favor of a nice quiet life with Cinder away from the glitz and glamor of palace life. The two had been together for several years ever since Cinder had met Charlie in disguise at a party and had danced with him. Charlie only knew Cinder under her fake name Ella but once Cinder had finally admitted who she was Charlie discovered he loved her for who she was whether she was a beautiful princess or a servant girl.
It had taken a long time for Cinder to get over her insecurities about her scars and what she had done at Beacon. And while she still wasn't totally free of her self conscious thoughts being with Charlie definitely helped her. She couldn't wait to marry him and spend the rest of her life with him.
Cinder's younger sister Jenni approached her and began to put her veil on her head.
The veil looked perfect on top of Cinder's short chin length spiral curls that perfectly framed her face.
After one more adjustment Jenni stepped back, "Perfect."
"So Cinder," Blake spoke up from the back, "you nervous?"
"A little," Cinder admitted as she began to feel the same butterfly feeling in her stomach that she had been feeling all morning.
"Hey you better not be getting cold feet. It took us a long time to rebuild your village just so you can have your perfect wedding," Jenni said.
"I didn't say I was backing out," Cinder said to her.
"Just checking," Jenni winked.
Cinder smiled and looked around at her bridesmaids, her best friends Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, Whitney, Celenia, and of course her maid of honor Jenni. They had all been through so much together between fighting Salem and her forces and defending kingdoms. Compared to all that having a wedding seemed easy.
"Charlie's lucky to have you," Celenia said happily as her blue eyes lit up.
"Thank you," Cinder blushed absentmindedly picking at a seam on her dress.
Yang looked at the clock, "its almost time for you to walk down the aisle which means we need to finish getting you ready."
The other girls nodded in agreement and set to finish prepping Cinder for her big day.
Meanwhile in the groom's room Charlie had finished getting ready and was talking with his groomsmen. He didn't seem the least bit nervous. However his best man Ugine did.
"Ugine. Why are you nervous? I'm the one getting married." Charlie asked his fox Faunus best friend.
"Me? Nervous? Why would I be nervous? I'm not nervous!" Ugine said his voice getting louder with each sentence.
"Your palms are sweating," Charlie said with an eye roll.
Ugine wiped his hands on his pants, "no they aren't."
In reality Ugine was nervous about something he and Cinder were planning for the reception. He was hoping everything would go smoothly.
Soon the church bell began to chime letting the men know the wedding was about to start.
"Well let's get this show on the road," Sun said jumping off the counter he was sitting on.
Charlie headed to the alter to wait for Cinder while the bridesmaids and groomsmen paired up. Ruby with Oscar, Weiss with Neptune, Blake with Sun, Yang with Parker, Whitney with Draven, Celenia with Chance and finally Jenni with Ugine.
Cinder stood at the very back and her adopted father Akiso took her arm.
"You look beautiful love," he said gently.
Cinder smiled, "thanks Dad."
The music started and the groomsmen and bridesmaids began to walk down the aisle. Soon enough it was Cinder's turn. As the door opened Charlie's breath caught in his throat. Cinder looked stunning.
Akiso walked her to the alter and Cinder took Charlie's hands.
As the priest began asking Charlie if he would take Cinder as his wife Cinder began looking around the room.
Over on the groom's side of the congregation Cinder saw Celestial sitting up front with Adam by her side. The bear Faunus looked ecstatic while Adam looked like he would rather be anywhere else.
On Cinder's side of the congregation Emerald, Mercury, and Hazel were all sitting side by side in a row together. Mercury, much like Adam, looked like he wanted to do anything else besides sitting there watching the wedding. Emerald was smiling while she watched and Cinder couldn't help but notice her own engagement ring on her finger. Hazel however just looked uncomfortable, which was understandable since it was pretty hard for a man of his stature to fit in such a small chair like the ones they had set up for the guests to sit in.
In the very back of the room stood X, arms crossed and slight scowl on his face. Cinder could tell that he was happy for her though. Next to the tall Vacusian man Cinder could see the faint outlines of Felix and Sierra Ford standing in the shadows. The voodoo witchdoctor and his wife didn't like being out in the light so much but Cinder was still happy they could make it.
Finally at the very front of the room Cinder set her eyes on her adopted mother and father Marin and Akiso. Marin looked like she was crying slightly and she was holding her husband's hand. In Marin's lap sat Cinder's adopted baby daughter Angel. The little one and half year old probably was wondering what was going on and why she was wearing a poofy pink dress and why she wasn't allowed to be on the floor crawling around. Like Cinder her green eyes were looking around at everything and when her eyes locked on Cinder she reached for her. Cinder gave her a small wave.
"Cinder? Cinder did you hear me?" The priest asked her.
Cinder turned and saw both the priest and Charlie staring at her. It was then that she realized the priest had asked her if she would take Charlie as her husband.
"I do," Cinder said.
"Then I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may-"
However before the priest could finish what he was saying Charlie had already pulled Cinder into a kiss.
"-continue kissing the bride."
After the ceremony everyone headed to the reception where Charlie and Cinder engaged in their first dance as husband and wife. The song they danced to was the very same one they had danced to at the party where they had met.
Soon after that it was time for cake and then the bouquet toss.
Ruby and the other girls all got into a group behind the bride and Cinder tossed her flowers into the air. It sailed over their heads before someone in the back caught it. Except all the girls were annoyed to see that it was Ugine that had caught it.
"Ugine. Only a girl is supposed to catch it," Jenni said rolling her eyes at her boyfriend.
Ugine looked at Jenni, "well whoever catches it is supposed to get married next right?"
"That's usually how it works."
"Then do you wanna be the next ones?" Ugine asked handing Jenni the bouquet.
Jenni was stunned as she took the flowers from his hands and saw a ring around the center flower.
Ugine took the ring off the flower and kneeled down, "Jenni will you marry me?"
Jenni nodded and Ugine pulled her into a hug before giving her a soft kiss on the lips.
"But how did that ring get there? How did you pull this off?" Jenni asked.
"I had some help," Ugine said smiling knowingly at Cinder.
Jenni turned toward her big sister and gave her a very unflattering gesture with her left hand.
Cinder smirked and stuck her tongue out at her.
Charlie noticed this, "What's that all about?"
"Oh nothing," Cinder said kissing her new husband, "we just have another wedding to plan for."
There's an awful lot of awful things we could be thinking of. But for just one day let's only think about love.
