Bumbleby: Piece of Cake

A/N: I know what you may be thinking "What? Jenni is writing a bumbleby one shot?" Yes. Yes I am. Yeah I know this isn't my favorite ship, but I guess it's kinda grown on me since volume 9. Anyway I watched this short film yesterday titled Piece of Cake and it gave me serious bumblby vibes. So go give it a watch on YouTube. Obviously now that I've mentioned this you know what this one shot will be based on. So, enjoy. Also this will probably be the only time I will write Adam as abusive but I had to for this one.
TW: Physical abuse.

At Rose's Bakery, the owner herself, Miss Ruby Rose sighed to herself as she closed the door. It had been another long day of selling cupcakes, pies, cookies and getting in orders for wedding cakes.

The clicking of the lock could be heard as the shop was closed up for the night.

At the front of the store was a beautiful wedding cake and on top of it was two porcelain cake toppers. A blonde male with a monkey tail dressed as a groom and a black haired female with cat ears dressed as a bride.

The groom's glass eyes began moving as he looked around the store. "All clear!"

The other bride and groom cake topper pairs, all on beautifully decorated cakes of their own, sighed in relief.

In unison, each groom offered their hand to their brides who eagerly took them. They then began to waltz together on top of their cakes.

The blonde groom held his hand out to his dark haired bride, "Blake may I have this dance?"

But his bride said nothing.

"Blake?"

The porcelain figure blinked as if just hearing him for the first time, "Oh! Sorry Sun."

She took his hand and the two began waltzing. But Sun could see something was on her mind.

"Is everything ok?" Sun asked.

Blake merely nodded and continued dancing with Sun.

Sun noticed Blake seemed to be glancing at something behind him so he turned and followed her gaze. On a nearby counter sat another wedding cake and atop it was another porcelain bride with blonde hair and groom with brown and red hair. If Sun remembered correctly their names were Yang and Adam respectively.

Adam was also leading Yang through a waltz but his bride seemed less then impressed with him. She had a bored look on her face and sighed whenever she was twirled or pulled close to Adam's chest.

As she was dipped backward Yang looked across the room and caught Blake's gaze. She stuck out her tongue playfully eliciting a giggle from the other bride.

Adam quickly noticed what Yang was doing and roughly pulled her toward him, "what do you think you're doing?!"

"Let go of me!" Yang demanded, yanking herself out of his hold.

But this only pissed Adam off more and he gave Yang a hard shove backwards. The porcelain figurine lost her footing and went tumbling off the side of the cake toward the hardwood floor below. There was a shatter of glass as she landed on her lower right arm, breaking it into pieces.

"Yang!" Blake yelled horrified. She ran to the edge of her cake and climbed down onto the front countertop, Sun right behind her.

Adam hopped off his cake and used a nearby tablecloth to slide down to the floor.

Yang was shakily pulling herself to her feet and she stared, horrified at her broken arm.

"Now look what you made me do," Adam said coldly.

Yang glared at him as he attempted to reach for her left hand and she stomped hard on his foot. She then ran over to the front counter and began climbing a step ladder that was propped up against it.

Blake was still making her way across the counter and she slid to a stop once she noticed Yang climbing up. Once the blonde bride was safely on the counter Blake ran and embraced her.

"Are you ok?"

Yang hugged her back, "I will be."

"You! Get away from her!" Adam demanded as he had also made his way up onto the counter.

Yang grabbed Blake's hand, "this way!" They began running toward the cutlery display.

Sun just watched all of this completely stunned until Adam snapped him out of it, "don't just stand there gawking! Get them!"

The two grooms began chasing after their brides.

Yang noticed this and grabbed a fork and held it in front of her, "leave us alone."

Adam scoffed and grabbed a knife, "you're coming back with me and Blake is going back to her display with her groom. Get it?!"

Blake looked to Sun who was standing behind Adam but the blonde man said nothing.

With a yell, Adam ran at the two brides but Blake pushed Yang aside. Adam's knife impaled into the side of her white wedding dress.

"Blake!" Sun yelled.

Without thinking he rushed forward and threw his whole body weight into Adam, knocking him off Blake.

Adam went sliding to the side and he gasped in pain.

Yang and Sun helped Blake up while Adam stumbled to his feet. There was now a visible crack along his left eye and cheek.

Seeing this Yang's left hand began shaking but Blake gently reached out and held it.

In a fit of rage Adam again attempted to run at the two brides but this time they were ready for him. Together they sidestepped just as the groom was about to grab them. With a gasp he toppled over the counter and onto the floor below. There was another, louder, shatter of glass.

Blake, Yang, and Sun all collectively breathed a sigh of relief and the blonde groom looked at the two ladies. They almost seemed to now be expecting a fight from him.

"Hey...don't worry. It's obvious you two are happy together." Sun said with a smile.

"Thank you Sun," Blake said.

Together, she and Yang went back to the wedding cake Blake and Sun previously occupied while Sun took his place on Yang and Adam's.

Of course when Ruby came in the next day she wondered why the cake toppers weren't the same as when she left them. Or why one now had a broken arm.

But it didn't seem to matter as Blake and Yang were soon selected to top a wedding cake by a dark haired woman named Bella and her blonde fiancé Yin, who was sporting a prosthetic left arm. The two women fell in love with the little cake toppers as soon as they stepped foot into Rose's Bakery and noticed them.

They were perfect.
