"CHANGBIN!"
Said male turned around at the mention of his name and nearly fell over as Hyunjin practically tackled him in a hug. After he balanced himself, he hugged the overly excited boy back and waved to the others approaching him.
"Damn dude... Why does it feel like it's been forever since we've seen you?" Chan asked as he threw an arm around Changbin's shoulder. Changbin shrugged.
"I'm not sure... I mean I just saw you guys yesterday at school so..." By now, everyone in their little friend group, excluding Jeongin and Felix, had gathered at the picnic table Changbin had been sitting at. It was the weekend and the weather was nice so Changbin took advantage of that and had decided to spend the day outside.
Jisung planted himself right next to his best friend and threw and arm over his shoulder. "You excited?" Changbin raised a brow at the question. "For graduation I mean. It's only like two weeks away!" Changbin gave a half hearted laugh and shrugged his shoulders.
"I guess... I'm just not sure what I'm going to do afterwards." Changbin's voice was steady, but everyone knew the slight fear behind his words. Everyone there knew what Changbin wanted to do, but they also knew that his father would never allow him to do what he wanted.
"Hey," Minho said from across the table. "don't worry about that right now. In two weeks, we'll finally be free from this hell hole, so just think about that, no need to worry yourself about the future right now." To say Changbin wasn't surprised would be a lie because Minho wasn't known for his kindness, in fact, it was rare to see such a soft side of him since he would usually be complaining about something or teasing someone.
"Thanks.." Changbin muttered under his breath. Minho just gave a small smile in return and turned to talk with Woojin and Chan. Changbin rested his head in his hand and played with a leaf that had fallen onto the wooden table.
Jisung nudged him in the side with his elbow. "What's up?" Changbin didn't say anything and just continued playing with the leaf in front of him. "Bin, what's wrong? Stop being so glum and tell me what's up?"
Changbin sighed and rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hands. "Just my parents is all. They've been acting all weird since they got back from the States, especially my mom.." Changbin's trailed off. He hadn't told anyone about what his mom had told him during their phone call a few weeks ago. He knew that if he told any of his friends, especially Jisung, they'd all be too worried about him and wouldn't be enjoying their last couple of weeks together.
As much as Changbin hated to admit it, he didn't think that they'd all stay together after graduation. Chan and Jisung would pursue their music careers, Minho was already teaching dance classes on weekends and Changbin assumed he'd go to doing it full time after graduation. Woojin would probably go to school to be a vocal teacher, Hyunjin wanted to be an interior designer and Seungmin wanted to be a photographer. Their paths differed too much for Changbin to believe that they'd stay together.
As for himself, Changbin had this feeling that he wouldn't be able to stay with them regardless of what happened. He and Felix had talked about their future together and Felix had seemed optimistic, but Changbin didn't. He didn't show it, however, because he knew that if Felix knew how he felt, then he'd start to question Changbin, even though he didn't know for sure why he felt that way.
"Well, how about we all have a night out on the town? That'd be fun, wouldn't it?" Jisung asked Changbin, then the rest of the group. At first, Changbin stayed silent, but when everyone else agreed on going, he decided that it'd be a good idea.
Woojin clapped his hands together to get everyone's attention. "Alright, so where are we gonna go and who's gonna tell Felix and Jeongin?"
"I'll text Felix" Changbin said and pulled out his phone. He tuned the others out as they decided on a place to go and texted his boyfriend.
To: MyLix♡
Hey, what are you and Jeongin up to rn?
He sent the message and watched the screen as he waited for Felix to respond. As he was waiting, another notification popped up.
1 unread Email from - UCLA
Changbin's breath caught in his throat as he stared at the notification. Before he could click on it though, Felix responded.
From: MyLix♡
Hey, we're just finishing up actually
What's up?
Changbin explained Jisung's plans and where it was that the group had decided to go. Felix didn't hesitate to agree and said Jeongin was in as well, so everyone agreed on a time and decided to all meet up back at the picnic table.
Everyone dispersed, going their separate ways. Changbin thought it was pointless for everyone to leave since they'd just be meeting up again in about an hour, but he just left it be. Jisung stayed with him at the table, sitting in a comfortable silence for a few minutes.
"Alright, spill it Seo. I know somethings going on so tell me." Once again, Jisung knew Changbin too well. No matter how hard he tried, Changbin couldn't hide anything from the squirrel.
"I don't even really know what's going on.." Changbin started, pausing in the middle of his sentence to try and figure out what he wanted to say. "It's just that I have this sneaking suspicion that they did something and didn't tell me about it." Changbin picked up the previously discarded leaf and began playing with it again.
"What do you think they did?" Jisung asked, taking the leaf and throwing it off to the side.
Changbin hesitated slightly, unsure whether he should lie about the email. "I don't know..." He lied. Jisung stared at him with a blank expression on his face which unnerved Changbin.
After what felt like forever, Jisung clicked his tongue and crossed his arms over his chest. "Fine, don't tell me. We can just chillax here until the others get back if ya want to though."
"Yeah, that'd be nice."
The two just spent the hour talking about random things and enjoying the nice weather. Before Changbin knew it, Hyunjin and Seungmin were chasing each other around the table, Chan was trying to keep Minho from murdering Woojin and Jeongin for stealing his churro and Felix was laughing at a joke Jisung had made about Changbin's face. He was already regretting his decision to spend the rest of the day with them.
Once everyone had settled done, Chan started explaining their plan. "So, we've still got a few hours of daylight to kill so we're gonna head to Everland and spend a few hours over there. After that, we figured we'd just walk around the city, maybe get some food and stuff."
"Uh," Minho butted in. "There is no 'maybe get some food'. We're getting food, period."
Everyone laughed and Chan rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever. So does that sound good to everyone?" Everyone nodded and grabbed whatever they had set down on the table. Everland wasn't that far from where the group was currently at, so they all agreed to just take a bus.
Taking public transportation wasn't necessarily something Changbin had hated, but having to sit for 45 minutes listening to Jisung and Minho bicker back and fourth as well as having Seungmin constantly kick the back of his seat like he was a four year old child quickly pushed taking the bus to one of his least favorite things.
The only good thing that really came out of it was that Felix sat next to him. About ten minutes in to the trip, Felix noticed how annoyed Changbin had gotten and tried cheering him up.
"Awe, Binnie-"
"Hey! How come Felix gets to call you Binnie but none of us can!?" Hyunjin cut Felix off, which only annoyed Changbin further. Felix noticed it and quickly answered before Changbin could say anything.
"Because I'm his boyfriend and you aren't so I'm automatically better than you!" Felix smiled at Hyunjin who just pouted and turned back around. "Anyway, stop being so glum! We're going to an amusement park, isn't that exciting!?" Felix was acting like a child, a side of him that Changbin rarely got to see, and it automatically brightened his mood.
"Ah fine, since you were so convincing" Changbin teased and Felix punched him in his shoulder. "As long as I'm with you, I'll always be happy." Changbin planted a quick kiss on Felix's lips, leaving the boy flustered by the sudden gesture. After a moment of processing, Changbin earned another quick punch to the shoulder.
The rest of the ride went by quick, but regardless of how quick it felt, Changbin was just happy to finally get off and away from his obnoxious friends. The bus dropped them off outside of the parking lot, so they had to walk a bit. Changbin didn't really mind it since the weather was still nice and he got to hold hands with Felix, but all Jeongin and Seungmin were doing was groaning about how they just wanted to ride the rides.
"Why does the bus have to drop us off so far away?" Jeongin whined as he trudged along with everyone, his arms swinging excessively at his sides as if he were throwing a tantrum.
Woojin laughed and wrapped an arm around the pouting boy. "Well, how else are we suppose to get our cardio in?" Jeongin stared at Woojin for a moment before growing and rolling his eyes.
"Nobody except you likes cardio! If I have to walk eighty billion miles just so I can have some fun, then next time you can count me out!"
"Jeongin," Chan said, grabbing the boy's attention. "There'll be churros."
"...fine, but you're buying me one!" For a split second, everyone went silent, surprised at Jeongin's informality towards Chan, but then everyone burst into laughter.
As soon as they were through the gates, everyone ran off in different directions. They were all supposed to meet up at the Star Shop by 8:30, but until then, they were free to do whatever they wanted. Seungmin, Hyunjin and Jeongin ran off with one another, later accompanied by Woojin and Chan because no one trusted those three by themselves. Minho and Jisung went off on their own little adventure, while Changbin and Felix wandered around the various shops by the entrance.
They first went in to Maharaja shop and looked through everything, just browsing since they didn't bring enough money to actually buy anything from the stores. They stopped in a few other gift shops before they made their way further in to the park, stopping at the Magic Tree before they went further.
"Whoa, that's so cool!" Felix exclaimed, staring at the tree totally awestruck.
Changbin chuckled. "You know it's a fake tree right?"
"Yeah, I'm not an idiot. It's just that I've never seen anything like this before and it's really cool!" Felix started off annoyed, but quickly got over it as excitement took over his body. He pulled out his phone and opened the camera before turning around and taking a selfie in front of the giant tree. "Hey, let's a take a cute couple picture together!" He didn't give Changbin much time before he pulled Changbin in and planted a kiss on his cheek, snapping a picture as he did. "Awe, I love it!" He said as he examined the picture. "What do you think?" He asked Changbin and showed him his phone screen. On the screen was a sort of blurry image of Felix with his eyes shut tight, kissing smiling Changbin on the cheek.
"I didn't even know I was smiling" Changbin muttered as he inspected the picture.
"I'm gonna make that my wallpaper." Felix said cheerfully as the two started walking away from the tree. Changbin just grinned and shook his head, grabbing Felix's free hand and swinging it back and fourth ever so slightly.
The two wandered from ride to ride, attraction to attraction, theme to theme. What they were most excited about though, was riding the T Express. As they were getting in line, the two heard a familiar set of voices bickering with one another a few people ahead of them.
"I told you I didn't want to ride this death trap!"
"Well I told you I didn't want to go to the Dark Forest yet you still forced me."
"Okay but you being scared of animals that come out at night is just ridiculous! Like who is even afraid of that?"
"Yeah? Well who is even afraid of heights!?"
"Uh, a lot of people actually! Keanu Reeves, Matt Damon, Shin Hoseok to name just a few."
"Shin Hoseok?"
"You know... Wonho from Monsta X?"
"Ohh"
"Yeah."
"Well, you're still going."
"Fine, but if I throw up on you then that's all your fault."
Changbin and Felix laughed at the fighting couple. "You two really sound like an old married couple sometimes!" Changbin shouted from their spot in line. Minho turned around and saw the two and quickly took the opportunity to move a few places back in line.
"AH thank you, now I can wait even longer for impending doom." Minho said as he planted himself next to Felix.
"That's a load of horse shit!" Jisung shouted from his original spot. Minho smirked and shouted back.
"I'm not going on if you aren't gonna be there so either come back here or go on by yourself!" Minho didn't think Jisung would give up his spot in line, but he was wrong. Jisung pushed his way past the others in line and stood right next to Minho, a victorious smile plastered across his face. Changbin just shook his head at the two.
The four waited in line for about a half hour before it was finally their turn to go. Felix and Changbin ran to the first car and quickly took the front two seats. Much to Minho's disappointment, Jisung dragged him to the two seats directly behind Felix and Changbin.
"This is it... This is where I die." Minho said as he buckled himself in.
Felix turned around and placed a hand on Minho's knee. "Just make sure that any bodily fluids that may come out of you are all directed and Jisung!" Changbin stifled a laugh as Felix turned back around and fastened himself in to the seat. A worker came around and lowered the safety bar, making sure it clicked in place before moving on to the next pair.
Changbin was a bit nervous since it was his first time being on a ride like this, but he was more excited than anything. He honestly couldn't believe that, in 18 years, he had never been on an actual rollercoaster. Once everyone was secured, there was a click and suddenly the coaster lurched forward. Without even realizing it, Changbin latched on to Felix's arm, which caused the latter to laugh.
The whole ride consisted of Minho screeching at the top of his lungs how much he hated Jisung, Jisung just laughing and having a good time, and Changbin clinging to Felix's arm as if his life depended on it. At one point Changbin swore he was gonna go flying out of the car, but then he decided that the death grip he had on Felix's arm was strong enough for him to withstand a tornado.
Although the ride itself was less than five minutes long, it felt like it would never end, so once it did, Changbin let out a sigh of relief.
"Uh, Bin?"
Changbin turned his head and looked at Felix. "Huh?"
Felix laughed and poked his forehead. "You can let go of my arm now."
"Oh, right! Sorry.." Changbin said, embarrassed, and quickly let go of Felix's arm. The two unbuckled themselves and stepped out of the car, Changbin wavering a bit as his legs adjusted. Jisung and Minho were right behind them with Minho having the same problems as Changbin.
The four of them exited the ride and headed towards a restroom. "Wait here for like two minutes, I gotta piss" Minho announced and ran to the restroom while the other three stayed put.
"So," Jisung started. "how'd you like your first real rollercoaster." Jisung asked Changbin who was too busy counting the birds on the roof of the restroom to hear the question.
"What?" He said, realizing that Jisung had asked him something. Jisung just shook his head and chuckled.
"I asked how your first real rollercoaster was?"
"Oh! It was actually a lot of fun!" Changbin said enthusiastically. Even if he was clinging to Felix for more than half the time, he still had fun.
"How do you think Minho liked it?" Felix asked as he grabbed Changbin's hand. Jisung shrugged.
"I'm not really sure actually, I mean he was damning me to hell the whole time but I mean... When isn't he?" At this, the three of them laughed earning them a few stares from people passing them by.
"What's so funny?" Minho asked as he walked up to the three.
Jisung waved him off and threw and arm around his shoulder. "Ah, it's nothing, just me being stupid like usual."
"Hmph"
The three wandered around the European Adventure area a bit longer, stopping to look at things ever once and a while, before they decided it was time to head back.
By the time they got to the Star Shop, it was 8:23. Woojin, Chan and Jeongin were all sitting at a table eating churros. Meanwhile, Seungmin and Hyunjin were no where to be seen, which only meant that they were probably off trying to steal a fox or something.
The four of them walked up and sat at the table the other three were already sitting at.
"Hey!" Woojin said as the others took their seats. "I bought you guys some churros" He handed everyone a churro and they all thanked him. The group sat and talked about what they did and ate their churros, enjoying the nice night air.
"GUYS!" Everyone's head whipped in the direction of the loud scream and saw Seungmin and Hyunjin running for their lives. "WE GOTTA GO!" Without even questioning it, everyone, except Jeongin, dropped their churros and started running towards the exit.
"What the hell Seungmin!?" Chan shouted as they ran through the front gates and towards the parking lot.
"No time to explain, just keep running!" Seungmin shouted back. Changbin took it upon himself to turn around, and once he did he saw that they were being chased by two, rather large, security guards.
"What that actual fuck you two!? What did you do!?" Changbin yelled, but Seungmin and Hyunjin only laughed.
The nine of them ran to the very end of the parking lot where the bus had dropped them off. Luckily, the bus had just gotten there so they all sprinted on to the bus and quickly took their seats, watching out the window as the security guards got closer and closer. Just before they were close enough to get on, the bus doors closed and the driver drove off. Everyone let out a relieved sigh and slouched in their seats.
"Okay," Changbin said once he caught his breath. "Care to explain what it is that you two dipshits did to have two giant security guards chase after you?"
Hyunjin and Seungmin stole knowing glances at one another before Seungmin spoke up. "Just know that we probably won't be allowed back in to Everland any time soon."
"Wha-" Chan started but Hyunjin cut him off.
"Seungmin tried stealing a fox!"
"HEY! It was your idea!" Seungmin argued and smacked Hyunjin in the shoulder.
"The fact that either of you thought that stealing a fox from Everland was a good idea concerns me." Woojin said, genuinely upset with the two. Everyone else was just pissed off, but Woojin seemed worried about the pair's mental health. Changbin didn't blame him for thinking that way.
The bus ride was exactly the same as it was before, except this time it was Hyunjin and Seungmin arguing and Jeongin was the one who kept kicking Changbin's seat. Felix was sitting on the inside, which Changbin didn't mind. Although he preferred the window seat, he didn't mind giving it up to Felix. Jisung and Minho were in the seats across from them, but Minho was passed out against the window. Woojin and Chan were sitting somewhere behind them and Changbin really didn't care where Seungmin and Hyunjin were. Al he knew was that he could hear them, wherever the two were.
It didn't take long for Felix to doze off, and by the silence on the bus, Changbin assumed the others had fallen asleep as well. He took the opportunity to check his phone, which he hadn't looked at since they got to the park.

Once he finished listening to the voicemails, he texted a short 'Hey' to his mom then went to clear the rest of his notifications. He went through each one slowly and took his time because, even if he didn't admit it, he was avoiding the email. Eventually the email was the only thing left though, and he had no choice but to click on it. He read through the email and felt his body go numb.

Changbin stared at the screen until it turned off, then continued to stare at the black screen.
"Hey, you alright?" Jisung nudged his arm, snapping Changbin out of his small trance.
"Hm? Oh yeah I'm fine, I was just zoning out is all." Changbin lied. It's become a habit of his lately, and he wasn't sure how he felt about it. Especially since he was lying to Jisung. He hadn't lied to Felix just yet, since he hasn't had a reason to, so he was hoping to keep it that way.
"Alright..." Jisung left Changbin alone, not wanting to bother him more about the issue since it was clear he wasn't going to say anything. Jisung didn't really need him to tell him what was going on though... He saw what was on Changbin's screen.
Once everyone had gotten off the bus at their designated spot, everyone took a moment to stretch themselves out. They still had the rest of the night to kill, but they were all so work out from running around the amusement park, no one was up to do anything really.
"I don't know about you guys but I'm starving. I honestly could go for some cheap ass ramen right now, mainly because I'm broke, so let's get moving!" Minho clapped his hands and skipped ahead of everyone. Changbin groaned and rubbed his eyes, trying to get rid of the tiredness that was settling in.
The group wandered about the city, enjoying the night vibe. Although they've all been through the city at night, they'd never gone as a group. For whatever reason, it just made everything ten times cooler and more exciting. Changbin and Felix took quite a few couple photos together, annoying the others of the group with how couple-y they were being, which only made Changbin want to take even more.
After some wandering and watching a few busking performances, the group came across a corner store. Minho was the first one in, followed by Hyunjin and Seungmin, who nearly trampled one another as they tried to get through the doors. Changbin and Felix, along with the other four, followed behind them, entering the store like normal people. Felix and Changbin went opposite ways as they searched for food to eat.
As Changbin turned a corner, he ran into somebody, knocking the contents out of both their hands. "Oh, I'm so sorry! Oh, Hyung? Ahh I'm really sorry!" Changbin spoke fast as he helped pick up the dropped items.
"Ah, don't worry about it Changbin, it's not a problem." Jaebum smiled as he handed Changbin his items and Changbin handed him his. "So how are you? It's been a while since I've seen you. You've really grown!"
Changbin rolled his eyes at Jaebum's teasing comment. "It hasn't been that long, and enough with the short jokes, I get it. Hey, is Jinyoung hyung with you?" Changbin asked and Jaebum nodded.
"He's around here somewhere, why?"
Changbin smirked and quickly ran around the corner to find Hyunjin. Sure enough, there he was, standing as stiff as a board and stumbling over his words.
"I-I.. Ji-Jinyoung sun-sunbaenim, it's a pleasure to finally meet you!" Hyunjin was speaking a mile a minute and his ears were bright red. Everyone else had gathered a ways back, just watching the train wreck unfold in front of them. Changbin walked up next to Felix, with Jaebum right behind him. Felix turned his head and noticed Changbin, flashing him a smile.
"How long has he been standing there?" Changbin whispered.
"Uh, about 3 minutes now?" Felix said as he checked his non-existent watch. Changbin laughed.
"Oh, is that the infamous Hyunjin?" Jaebum asked with a raised brow. Changbin nodded and set his items on the counter before walking up and throwing an arm around Hyunjin's shoulder. Hyunjin jumped and glared at Changbin, who winked and turned towards Jinyoung.
"Hi Hyung! How are you doing?"
"Oh hey Changbin! It's been a while hasn't it?" Jinyoung asked, obviously pleased to see the younger.
"Uh, no, not really. You and Jaebum hyung need to get your sense of time checked." Hyunjin gasped at how impolite Changbin was, but relaxed a bit when Jinyoung laughed.
"Yeah, I guess so! Well, Jaebum and I gotta get going, but text me so we can meet up sometime soon! It was nice to meet you Hyunjin!" Jinyoung waved the two and walked towards Jaebum, then paid for their items and left. Once the pair was gone and out of site, Hyunjin sagged his shoulders and let out a long breath, as if he had been holding his breath the entire time.
Everyone approached the two with giant grins on their faces. "So, how was it meeting your idol for the first time?" Changbin asked and pinched Hyunjin's cheeks.
Hyunjin rolled his eyes and grabbed a random pack of ramen off the shelf. "It wasn't a big deal." At this, everyone burst in to laughter, except Hyunjin, who just ignored everyone and went to the counter to pay for his ramen.
Once everyone had payed for their food, they all went outside to find a table to sit at and enjoy their meals. Those who had gotten ramen and to go and make it, while everyone else sat and started eating. Once everyone had officially sat down, food and all, it became silent, the only sound being the crinkling of a wrapper, the sound of chopsticks clicking together or the occasional sniffle of someone's nose.
"Waaahh, that was delicious!" Minho grinned and patted his stomach. Woojin, Chan and Jeongin all nodded and did the same. Felix and Jisung rolled their eyes and continued munching on whatever snacks were ldft, and Seungmin and Hyunjin started throwing wrappers at one another.
"I hope you guys are planning on picking all of those up when you're done." Chan said in a stern voice, which imediately made the two stop and begin picking up the wrappers. Changbin chuckled and shook his head. "So," Chan started again after turning his attention away from the two trouble makers. "Are you guys excited to graduate?" Everyone went silent as they sat and thought about their answer. Jeongin was the first person to respond.
"Yep, totally. I can't wait to graduate in a year!" Everyone laughed at Jeongin's light hearted comment. It was nice to see that he wasn't going to let the fact that his friend group was leaving make him sad or upset. Changbin had a new found respect for the kid because of it.
"I'm excited for sure. I can finally work full time and work to open my own studio!" Minho said excitedly. Changbin had always been a little jealous of the amount of freedom Minho got, but he never let it show because it would only cause unnecessary problems.
Jisung nodded and looked at Chan and Changbin. "I am too because now we can spend more time working on our music." Chan's expression lit up, but Changbin's didn't. He just gave a half-hearted smile, which didn't go unnoticed by Jisung and Felix, but neither of the two said anything.
They spent what felt like hours talking about graduation, what their plans were for after and if they were going to stay in touch. Changbin participated in some of the conversations, but stayed silent for the most part. As everyone began to grow tired, Woojin made the official decision to call it quits. When Changbin looked at his phone, the time read 2:34am. He blinked a few times before he got up and followed everyone as they made their way to Woojin's van.
Hyunjin was dropped off first, then Seungmin, then Minho and Jisung. Felix and Jeongin were dropped off next, and Changing got out with Felix to walk him to his door. Woojin said he'd wait for him, so Changbin took his time.
Once they got to the front door, Changbin kissed Felix softly and his lips and gave a very soft smile.
"I love you" he said quietly.
"I know" Felix replied.
"Do you?" Changbin's expression began to change and Felix's eyebrows knitted together.
"What do you mean?"
Changbin sighed and replaced the smile that was on his face previously. "Ah, nevermind, I'm tired is all. I'm sure you're tired as well so go on in. I'll talk to you tomorrow okay?"
Felix gave Changbin a worried look before kissing him one last time and heading inside. Changbin just stood there for a second, staring at the glowing porch light, before turning around and heading back to the car.
As he expected, the front door was locked. Woojin called out to him from the car if he wanted him too wait, but Changbin just told him it was alright and that he could go. After a bit of convincing, Woojin pulled out of Changbin's driveway and drove down the dark street. Changbin sighed and made his way to the back of the house, going in through the back door. He slid his shoes off at the door and drug his tired body up the steps to his room. As soon as he laid eyes on his bed, all will to do anything else was lost and he immediately plopped down on to the soft mattress. He layed there, eyes closed, but his mind raced with a billion different thoughts. So much had happened during the day that he couldn't really process everything. Eventually he just gave up and let sleep take over his body, taking him far away from his chaotic world.
___
"Hurry up! We're gonna be late!" Felix shouted back at Changbin, who was stumbling behind the running boy. It didn't really help that they were in their cap and gown AND running through crowds of people. Changbin knew it was a terrible idea to go on a quick coffee run before the ceremony, but Hyunjin refused to do it so Felix volunteered, naturally dragging Changbin along with him.
The two pushed their way past people, muttering 'Im sorry's and 'Excuse me's as they did. By now, Changbin didn't really care about the coffees he held in his hand, so the next trashcan he passed, he three them inside. He could already hear Chan scolding him for wasting money and perfectly good coffee, but he didn't really care.
The two eventually made it back to the room where the students were told to wait in before the ceremony started. Once Chan layed eyes on Felix's hands filled with coffee, then Changbin's completely empty hands, his scary mom mode was activated.
"Changbin, tell me why, exactly, Felix managed to carry three coffees in his hands while you are carrying none?" Changbin shrugged his shoulders.
"I threw the coffee I had away." There was a collective amount of gasps as Changbin shared what he did. "What? It's not like I killed someone. Besides, I didn't want to get any coffee on my gown."
"That's a bullshit excuse and you know it! Felix managed to get here without spilling anything!" Minho complained.
"Yeah, but it is Changbin we're talking about." Hyunjin said with a smirk.
"Yeah, true." Minho agreed and Changbin just rolled his eyes.
"Well, three of you can have coffee, and the rest of you can starve, I don't really care either way so." Changbin smiled at his annoyed friends and Felix laughed.
"Students, please make your way to the auditorium in an orderly manner. There, you will be directed to your seat based off of your last name." The PA buzzed off and all the students groaned. No one liked sitting in in alphabetical order because you never got to sit with your friend.
"This is it guys... We're finally becoming me!" Hyunjin said loudly.
"Shut the fuck up no we aren't, we're only graduating highschool." Minho snapped back real quick which caused Changbin to smile slightly. He and Felix held hands until they were separated at the auditorium doors. Changbin was on the opposite side of the auditorium, which annoyed him, but he couldn't do anything to change it so he slouched in his chair until the ceremony began.
_
"Congratulations to the class of 2018, and may life bring you happiness and success!" As soon as the principal finished the last word, the auditorium erupted in chaos. Everyone shouted and threw their caps up in the air, hugging anyone and everyone. Changbin even hugged a few people he honestly didn't know at all. He was so caught up in the excitement to even care really.
As everyone moved to find their friends or family, Changbin rushed over to where he knew Felix was. As soon as he laid eyes on the latter, he rushed over and attacked him with a bear hug. Felix was so caught off guard by it that he nearly fell over.
"Whoa whoa, a bit excited are we?" Felix laughed as he wrapped his hands around Changbin.
"Oh shut up and just hug me!" Changbin complained and tightened the hug. The two continued the hug for a few more minutes until the rest of their group, including Jeongin, walked up to them.
"Come on guys, enough with the lovey dovey shit. Let's get out of this stuffy auditorium!" Woojin said and started walking towards the doors. Changbin smiled and grabbed on to Felix's hand as they walked out to find their families and anyone else they wanted to say congrats to.
In the midst of a conversation with Felix's aunt, Changbin saw his mother standing off to the side, watching him with a proud smile spread across her face. Changbin excused himself and walked up to her, stopping right in front of her. The two didn't exchange any words, instead Changbin embraced her in a hug. He started crying and tried to hide it, but his mother knew better and quickly wiped his face with her sleeve.
"I'm so proud of you Binnie, you did so well" she spoke softly as she cupped her son's face. "Don't forget that I love you so so much, okay?" She asked and Changbin nodded, sniffling his nose. "Alright, good. Now, I have to go, but promise me not to forget how much I love you okay?" She asked again and Changbin nodded, not really understanding why she was saying those things. She gave him a soft smile before kissing his forehead gently and walking off down a hallway, disappearing into the crowd.
Changbin took a second to recollect himself before turning around, but as he did, he immediately regretted it. Standing across from him, cold as ice, was his father. Changbin knew exactly why he was there and he suddenly felt a pain in his chest. He looked around for Felix desperately, finally finding him talking with the Janitor he had befriended during the year. Changbin quickly made his way over to Felix, apologising to Sae as he pulled Felix aside.
"Hey, what's wrong? Have you been crying?" Felix asked as he inspected Changbin's face.
"Yeah yeah, I'm fine, I just saw my mom is all. But hey, I have to go now.." Changbin's voice caught in his throat and he promised himself he wouldn't cry. "I have to go now. I love you so much, please don't forget that okay? You are the most important thing in my life and I don't want you to forget that. Can you promise me you won't forget that?" Felix nodded slowly, unsure as to what was causing his boyfriend's strange behavior. Changbin smiled and pulled Felix in for one last kiss, making sure to make it last for as long as possible before he pulled away, a sad smile placed on his face. "Tell everyone else I said bye, yeah?" He asked and Felix just nodded again. "Alright... Bye Felix." Changbin said and Felix just waved, unsure on how to act. He just watched as Changbin walked away from him, totally confused about what had just occurred.
As Changbin approached his father, no words were spoken between the two. He simply started walking towards the school doors, Changbin following a few feet behind. The pair walked in silence all the way to the car, and only once they were inside of the car did Changbin's father speak.
"Did you say your goodbyes?" His voice held no emotion and made Changbin shiver and how cold it was.
"Yes." Changbin said simply. His father nodded his head once in approval before putting the car in reverse and pulling out of the school parking lot. Changbin watched in the side mirror as the school became smaller and smaller, until it was no longer visable.
Goodbye.
