Changbin had spent the weekend at Jisung's, spending most of his time sitting and watching the awful horror movies that Jisung's mom had given them.
Sunday rolled around and Changbin felt like he needed to leave. He felt like he was burdening Jisung's and his mom, and no matter how much they told him otherwise, Changbin refused to stay.
"Don't worry about me Jisung. I'm a big boy, I can take care of myself" Changbin said with a smile as he shouldered his backpack. Jisung just looked at him with a worried expression but pulled the latter into a hug.
"Don't be afraid to call us any time sweet heart. You know you're always welcomed here!" Jisung's mom said as she embraced the small boy in a hug, kissing his cheek before letting him go. Changbin smiled at the two and waved to them as he walked down the driveway.
He honestly had no idea where he was going to go. He was deep in thought when he felt his phone go off in his pocket. He pulled the phone out and looked at the screen to see that he was getting a call. His feet stopped and he stood still, staring at the screen. Part of him wanted to answer it, but part of him was scared. After another moment of hesitation, he pressed answer and held the phone up to his ear.
"H-hello?" Changbin's voice was small.
"Changbin? Is that you?" Something in his mother's voice sounded odd, but he wasn't sure what it was. "Changbin, I know you probably hate me. I know there is a lot that I can't really make up for, but I just want you to know that I love you honey. You can't ever forget that okay?" He had no idea why, but his mother's words caused tears to form in his eyes. He hated how emotional he got lately. He hated how easily he would cry now. He hated not feeling like he was in control of his own emotions. He hated it. "Changbin?" His mother's voice drew him back from his thoughts.
"Yeah?" He asked, trying his best to sound composed.
"I'm so sorry. Your father and I are in the states right now, but when we get back, I'm planning on filing for a divorce. I know we aren't close and I know you're graduating, but I need you to know how sorry I am about all of this." Changbin had zero clue what it is that his mother was being sorry about. His mind was too busy being flooded with emotions to notice that his mother said that they were in the states.
Changbin blinked a couple of times before he felt all of his emotions leave his body. "It's fine." He said dryly into the phone. The other end fell silent for a moment.
"I love you, Binnie." Then the call ended. It took Changbin a minute for him to compose himself and start walking again, but as he did, his mind flooded with a billion different thoughts.
She hasn't called me Binnie for years... Changbin couldn't help but think about how, when he was younger, his mom called him by the nickname he absolutely despises now. He remembers the affection and care he felt whenever he had heard that name.
"But I don't wanna go Mommy!" 6 year old Changbin whined as he clinged to his mother's shoulders.
His mother smiled and rubbed her son's head. "Oh, Binnie, why not? School is gonna be so much fun! You'll get to meet new people and have a ton of new friends!"
"But I don't wanna leave you! I'd rather be friends with you!" His mom just smiled lovingly at her son as she soothed the crying boy.

"Mom..." The gentle woman hummed at her son's request, waiting for him to continue speaking as she continued cutting onions. "Mommy..." The sound of sniffling and the word 'Mommy' instantly alerted his mother that something was wrong with her son. She quickly set the knife down and wiped her hands before turning and placing her delicate hands on her sons shoulders as she crouched.
"What's got my Binnie all sad now hm?"
"Some of the other boys, they p-pushed me while we were p-playing soccer." 10 year old Changbin sniffled and spoke between hiccups. He held up his arm to show his mom his scratched elbow.
"Oh no! Let's get you bandaged up and maybe get some ice cream after? Does that sound good Binnie?" The sniffling Changbin nodded and smiled softly as his mother worked to bandage his wound.
Changbin was brought out of his memories when a car honked and pulled up beside him, rolling down the window.
"Hey! Get in!" Changbin leaned down and saw the ever so familiar Ten sitting in the driver's seat. Changbin hesitated for a moment, but then decided to get in anyway.
Once he was in and buckled, Ten pulled away from the side of the road. He instantly took note of his friend's depressed mood and started questioning him. "You alright Bin?" Ten asked, glancing at his friend.
Changbin didn't respond. He was staring at the window, deep in his own thoughts.
When did she stop calling me Binnie? Why did she stop? Changbin couldn't help the thoughts that raced through his mind. He honestly didn't have a clue as to why his mother had stopped calling him by Binnie. He remembered hearing his parents arguing about something the day that he had gotten pushed, but he never knew what it was about. Was it about me? He was once again brought back from his thoughts when Ten snapped his fingers in front of his eyes.
"Yo, dude are you okay? I've said you name like six times. What's going on?" Ten asked, but when he got no response from the latter, he pulled into an empty parking lot. Ten sighed and turned the car off, then turned in his seat so that he was facing Changbin. "Dude, talk to me. What's going on with you?" The only response Ten got was a soft sigh and a quick glance from the other. It was Ten's turn to sigh as he got out of the car and slammed his door shut, causing Changbin to jump slightly. Changbin watched as Ten circled the car and stopped in front of his door before pulling it open.
"Get out." Changbin stared up at Ten, who had an expressionless face and spoke in a very stern voice. "If I have to tell you again, I will drag you out of the car. Get out." Changbin quickly complied the second time around, unbuckling himself before stepping out of the car. He jumped slightly when Ten slammed his car door shut. Changbin once again watched as Ten circled the car a second time before opening the driver side door and getting back in. After a moment, the car started up and Ten started to back his car up. Realizing that he had no idea where they were, Changbin panicked.
"What the hell are you doing!? You can't just leave me here!" Changbin shouted as he watched his friend slowly back away from him.
Ten stopped his car and leaned out of the window. "Then fucking talk to me you prick! If you aren't gonna say anything, then I'm not gonna let you sit in my car and sulk! You're either riding in my car and talking, or walking and sulking. You're choice!" It didn't take Changbin long to choose that he'd rather sit in the car than walk.
Once he was in the all the way, Ten pulled out of the parking lot and back onto the street. "Now spill." He said sternly, his eyes trained on the road. Changbin hesitated at first but eventually told him everything from the fight with his dad to the call he just had with his mother. "Damn dude... So where are you gonna go now?" Ten asked and Changbin honestly had no idea. Suddenly, Changbin phone vibrated.

Hey, just wanted to check in and see how you were doing ^^
Changbin smiled as he read the message then looked up at his friend. "Can you take me to Felix's?"
Once Ten had dropped Changbin off, butterflies erupted in Changbin's stomach. He honestly had no idea why, but he had gotten super nervous all of a sudden. As he approached the door, Changbin told himself that he was being ridiculous.
Knock
Knock
Knock
Changbin felt like his heart was going to pound out of his chest from his nerves.
"Bin?"
The sudden voice instantly calmed Changbin down. His breathing became regular, his heart stopped freaking out. He relaxed as he laid his eyes on the boy standing in front of him.
"Hey." Changbin said with a soft smile.
"Why are you here?" The question was reasonable, seeing as the latter didn't even reply to Felix's text before arriving on his front doorstep, but Changbin couldn't help but feel a tad bit hurt at the question.
"Well, I wanted to see you is all." He said honestly. Changbin didn't know why or how, but whenever he was feeling upset or like his emotions were out of control, thinking about Felix, talking to Felix, being with Felix... Anything with Felix automatically made him feel more relaxed and calm.
Felix scrunched his nose and moved aside to let his boyfriend in. "Well, Olivia and I were actually gonna head down to the hospital in a little bit." Felix said quietly as he watched Changbin take his shoes off.
Changbin nodded and followed Felix into the living room before sitting down next to him. The latter instantly laid his head on Changbin's lap, grabbing a hold of one of his hands and playing with his fingers. Changbin's free hand combed through Felix's hair and the two sat there in silence for a few minutes.
"Can I come with you?" Changbin's question caused Felix to stop what he was doing and look up at Changbin. The two met eyes and Felix's expression softened when he noticed the sadness that was present in his boyfriend's eyes.
"Of course." Felix said with a soft smile.
The three had taken the bus that Olivia and Felix took every time they'd visit when their Aunt was busy. Changbin laughed when Olivia had planted herself in the seat next to him and Felix pouted.
"He's my boyfriend, Olivia, I should be able to sit next to him!" Felix protested but Olivia didn't budge.
"Too bad sweet brother of mine, I got here first!" Teasingly, she stuck her tongue out at her brother but quickly withdrew it when he flicked it. Changbin couldn't help but be amused at the two bickering siblings beside him.
Once they had gotten to the hospital, the stopped at the front desk the second they walked in and got their visitor's passes. Changbin noticed how Felix and Olivia had greeted a vast majority of the staff that walked around and he suddenly realized how much time the two of them spend there.
The trio walked to the elevators and waited for it to arrive. While they were waiting, Felix and Olivia found themselves in a heated game of rock papers scissors and Changbin just laughed as Olivia beat her brother three times in a row.
The elevator arrived after a couple of minutes and the three got on. Olivia pressed the button for the 6th floor and the three suddenly feel into a silence, the only sound being the occasional beep as the elevator passed another floor.
The elevator doors opened and the three got off. The floor was pretty quite, save for the quiet chatter of a few nurses that were standing around behind a counter. Olivia quickly went up to greet them while Changbin and Felix followed behind her.
"Hey," Felix's voice was soft and quiet. "I just want you to know that I'm not sure if she's going to be awake or not. This new medication they have her on has a side affect of extreme exhaustion." Changbin nodded and grabbed a hold of Felix's hand, interlacing their fingers together.
"Oh Felix! It's so good to see you again!" On of the nurses moved from behind the counter and embraced Felix in a hug, causing Changbin to have to let go of his hand. Once she was done hugging him, she took note of the quiet boy standing behind Felix. "Oh, and who's this?" She asked with an eyebrow raised.
"It's good to see you too Hwasa," Changbin was surprised at the lack of formalities, but then remembered how often he comes here and he suddenly shook the thought away. "And this is my b..." Felix suddenly turned to Changbin as if asking for permission to say anything. Changbin laughed lightly and smiled.
"Hi, I'm Changbin, Felix's boyfriend. It's nice to meet you." Changbin said easily as he bowed and greeted the other nurses as well. Changbin grabbed Felix's hand again and smiled at the noe blushing boy.
"Oh, so you're the Seo Changbin?" One of the other nurses asked from behind the counter.
"Hey! Hush, I said not to say anything about that!" Felix said getting flustered by the sudden exposure. Changbin couldn't help but laugh at his flustered boyfriend.
"Ew, you guys are gross, I'm gonna go say hi to mom." Olivia said with an eye roll and walked into the room across the nurse's station. Felix turned to the nurse, who Changbin now knew as Hwasa, and spoke in a low voice.
"Is she up?" Hwasa shook her head at Felix's question.
"She was up a while ago, but I'm not sure if she still is. She's very tired though, so if she is up, she might not be up for talking." Hwasa explained and Felix nodded before walking to the room, his grip on Changbin's hand tightening slightly.
When they entered the room, Olivia had taken a seat on the far side of the bed and was holding her mom's hand. Her mouth was moving but neither of them could make out what it was that she was saying. Felix just ushered Changbin to the couch on the opposite end of the room, not wanting to disturb Olivia. Changbin quietly sat down and watched as Felix carefully approached the bed. Olivia had stopped saying whatever it was that she was saying and looked up at her brother as he leaned over and placed a kiss on their mother's forehead. He pulled back and flashed Olivia and soft smile before he turned and walked over to Changbin. He immediately laid down on the couch, placing his head in the latter's lap like usual. Instead of playing with Changbin's hand this time, Felix was picking at his own nails. Changbin noticed this and placed his hand gently on top of Felix's. Felix looked up at Changbin with a soft expression.
"Thank you for coming Binnie..." At first, Changbin stiffened slightly at the nickname. Just earlier that day he was remembering how much he hated it and how it made him angry every time he heard it. Now, hearing it come from Felix's mouth in such a soft and loving tone? Changbin relaxed and looked down at his boyfriend, who's eyes had drifted closed.
"You're welcome Lix."
