Marth x reader: Ice skating
Hey guys! I'm back with a
Marth x reader requested by the always lovely CharaHeartandSoul
Alrighty! I hope y'all enjoy~
You woke up in the morning to the sound of loud knocking on your door.
You rubbed your eyes groggily and glanced at the alarm clock.
6:04 am
Who the heck, would wake you up at this ungodly hour...
"(Y/n)!!! Do you wanna build a snowman?~" You heard Toon Link call in a sing-song voice. Ness and Lucas giggled in the background.
You picked your head up and glanced out your window. Everything was covered in sheets of snow, and the roof of the Smash mansion glittered with it as well.
You loved snow.
But not as much as you loved sleep.
"Ugh." You sighed, swinging your legs slowly out of bed.
"(Y/n)! Come on! Are you awake?" Ness whined. "Maybe we should set her door on fire!" You jumped out of bed immediately.
Running over to the door, you swung it open, interrupting the pleasant conversation of burning it down.
"PK-" Ness started.
"I'm up, I'm up." You glared at Ness, and then glanced at the other members of small group of kids that had gathered in the hallway.
The Smash kids really loved you for some reason. It was probably because you played with them a lot.
Some people thought they were super annoying, but you didn't think so.
I mean, they were all so cute!
Well, that's not strictly true.
Villager was an exception to that.
He never spoke, never blinked, and he Never. Stopped. Grinning.
It was beyond creepy.
"Hey (Y/n)! It snowed!" Toon Link smiled up at you, making jazz hands to show his excitement. "Yup!" Ness nodded.
They then both turned to look at Lucas, who shyly stepped forward.
He stood there for a moment, fiddling his thumbs, until Ness elbowed him and cleared his throat.
"R-right." Lucas took a deep breath.
"W-will you play with us in the snow?" He asked timidly.
Lucas was always super shy (and kind of wimpy.) He usually went along with whatever the other kids told him to do, so he was always forced to be the guy who asked you to do stuff. (Among other things)
"Sure, I'll play with you guys for a little bit." You said, patting Lucas on the head. "Lemme just get changed, and I'll be right out."
"Okay!" The children cheered enthusiastically. "We'll meet you outside!"
You chuckled to yourself, closing your door and picking out a warm outfit to wear. You grabbed your coat, and stuck your gloves in your pocket before making your way out of the mansion.
When you came into the lobby, you bumped into Marth and Roy, who were chatting in there.
"Oh! Hey Marth, hey Roy." You nodded at them, waving calmly.
The butterflies in your stomach started going crazy.
"Why, hello M'lady." Marth smiled charmingly, stooping down and placing a kiss on your hand.
You blushed, and pulled your hand back. You knew Marth was very gentlemanly, and did this with almost every other lady, but it still felt special.
"Sup." Roy nodded at you.
Marth looked at him in disgust.
"You are seriously too lazy to say, 'What's up?' You have to abbreviate it?" Marth shook his head in disapproval.
"No, I don't have to abbreviate anything Marthy-Marth. I just do it because it's easier. And also, it's not lazy, it's cool."
Roy retorted, sassily placing his hands on his hips.
"Whatever." Marth sighed, rolling his eyes.
"You are so fun to annoy." Roy grinned, poking Marth's cheek, eliciting a groan from the blue-haired prince.
"Anyway, what are you up to this morning (Y/n)?" Roy inquired.
"Oh, I'm just going outside to play with the kids for awhile." You said.
"Oh ho ho." Roy wiggled his eyebrows at you. "Are you guys going to have a snowball fight?"
"No." You shuddered, thinking of the last time you had a snowball fight with Roy. "And if we do, you can't play." You said, jokingly pointing your finger at Roy.
"Awww, no fair." Roy teased. "I'm not that good."
"Suuuuure your not." You replied sarcastically.
"I'll take that as a compliment." Roy winked at you.
"Hey, Marth here needs something to do! You should make him go outside with you guys."
You pondered the idea before shrugging. "Well, if he wants to. I don't want to force anyone to do anything." You said, looking to Marth to see what he thought.
"Hmmm. Yes, I suppose. I'm not doing anything this morning, and I'd certainly enjoy spending some time with you." Marth smiled.
"Y-yeah, great." You smiled, trying your best not to blush. Marth was quite the charmer.
"Well, we'll be waiting outside. You quickly turned away and walked out the main entrance. How is it that Marth always manages to make you blush.
"Hey guys!" You said, slipping on your gloves and walking over towards the kids, the snow crunching beneath your feet.
"Hey (Y/n)! You finally made it!" Toon Link hugged you. "Yeah, yeah, I was a bit held up. Sue me." You giggled.
"Held up talking to your booooooy frieeeennnnd." Ness teased, making kissy faces at you. "What?" You asked, confused as to how Ness knew that you both (A: liked Marth, and (B: were held up talking to him.
"Well, we spied on you through that window right there and saw you talking to Marth. And, we figure since you talk to him an awful lot, you must like him." Toon Link laughed.
"Well aren't you clever." You shook your head playfully.
The kids all laughed. Except Villager.
Villager just stared at you. And grinned.
"Speak of the devil! Look who's here!" Ness grinned, pointing behind you.
You glanced back to see Marth walking towards you.
"I'm gonna tell him that you looooooove him." Ness giggled.
"Please don't." You sighed, exasperated.
"I think it'd be funny." Toon Link shrugged. "Who's for it?"
Villager smiled and nodded, while Pichu jumped up and down in excitement. (He's here too.)
They all turned to look at Lucas, who had started sweating despite the cold weather.
"What do you say Lucas?" Ness asked, raising an eyebrow at him and putting his hands on his hips.
"U-uhhh." He glanced around at his friends. "I-I mean..." Lucas coughed into his hand, the cold air freezing his breath. He pondered his options.
He could help his friend (Y/n), and get kicked out of the group, or, he could agree with the group, and betray his friend (Y/n).
As Lucas prepared to take the path of least resistance (cuz', you know, he's a loser) you sighed an facepalmed. Why did you think having Marth come out was a good idea? You closed your eyes and waited for Lucas to seal your fate. But before he could speak up....
"Hello guys." A pair of arms snaked around your waist in a hug, as Marth rested his chin on your shoulder.
"M-Marth!" You jumped, blushing at his closeness.
"Don't scare me like that."
He chuckled and let you go.
"Alright, alright. Just having a little fun. Anyway, you guys want to go ice skating? The pond froze over."
"YEAH!" The kids agreed excitedly, totally forgetting about the previous topic. "Oh! Uh, yeah, sure..." You smiled in relief, before nervously following them over to the pond.
Marth, being the gentlemen he was, rented you all a pair of skates from Nana and Popo's Ice-Climbing Snow-Gear Rental Shack.
You all sat on the benches near the pond and laced up your ice skates.
Marth then went along the line of kids and re-laced their ice skates, because none of them knew what they were doing.
Once they were all ready to go, they headed out onto the pond, laughing and joking about who could go the fastest.
Marth shook his head and laughed before stepping out onto the ice himself.
He glided gracefully around the pond in a perfect figure eight, before skating back towards you. Your mouth dropped open in amazement.
"Aren't you coming?"
"O-oh." you stammered. "I...don't know how to ice skate." You admitted, your face heating up from embarrassment.
"Hmm, I see... I suppose I'll just have to teach you then."
Marth smiled at you sweetly, grabbing your hands and helping you stand up.
"I'd feel so bad if you wasted all your time teaching me how to skate. Your soooo good. You'd probably rather be skating by yourself; without me there slowing you down." You pointed out, looking down at your skates.
"First off, I could never be wasting time on you (Y/n). Any time spent with you is time well spent. You know that right?" Marth asked you, tilting your chin up to look into your eyes. Your faced flushed, as you gazed into Marth's beautiful blue orbs. "Second, there's no one else I'd rather be skating with."
With that, Marth pulled you out onto the ice. Almost immediately, you slipped and fell into Marth's chest.
"Ahhh, sorry!" You exclaimed straightening yourself as best you could. Marth laughed. He had no idea how you didn't see how adorable you were.
"It's fine." He smiled down at you, helping you right yourself. "Now, let me give you a couple tips..."
After two solid hours of Marth teaching you how to ice skate, you finally started to get the hang of it.
"Wow! I'm doing it!" You exclaimed excitedly, beaming and looking up at Marth.
"Yeah, you're practically a natural."
Marth grinned back at you.
You enveloped him in a hug, wrapping your arms around his neck. "Thank you so much for teaching me." You said, your voice muffled by his coat. Marth wrapped his arms around your waist and smiled. "You're welcome." he smirked, sliding his face closer to yours.
That's when someone decided to ruin this perfect moment by throwing a snowball at your head. It missed by an inch. You both spun around.
"Hey, lovebirds! Keep it PG out here!" Roy shouted. "That one was a warning!" he continued, forming another snowball in his gloved hands. You looked up at Marth. His gentle smile assured you that what came next would be well-worth a snowball to the head....
It was not, however, worth being practically buried alive by the mega-barrage of snowballs that Roy launched at you seconds later. It turns out the kids had been helping him make snowballs, and he had a seemingly endless supply of ammo. Roy was in snowball mode. You and Marth got off the pond as quickly as possible, and returned your ice skates, trying your best not to get hit by too many snowballs.
You ran back into the Smash mansion and hid behind the door.
"Do you think they're going to find us in here?" You asked puffing out your cheeks completely out of breath. "Who cares?" Marth asked, stealing another kiss.
*BONUS ALTERNATE ENDING*
Roy was in snowball mode. By the time he calmed down, you and Marth had been buried six-feet under an icy grave. ".....Oops." Roy stated, before running to Nana and Popo's Ice-Climbing Snow-Gear Rental Shack. He rented a couple shovels and charged back to the lake. He dug as fast as he could, but by the time he reached you, it was too late...
"Oh well. Nobody plays Marth. Lucina is a better character anyway." Roy shrugged, before nonchalantly shuffling away from the scene of his accidental murder. That last comment didn't sit well with the frozen prince, and his zombified corpse rose from its position, and followed Roy back to the mansion... Oh well, Chrom is a better character anyway..
(My editor wrote the alternate ending. He likes it better then my ending, by the way. LOL) 😂
