M!Inkling x Octling Reader: Truth or Dare
Hey guys, this chapter was requested by the one and only MoonWolfi10
I don't know to much about Inkling, (I've never played any of the Splatoon games) but I tried my best!
Alrighty, here you go! Enjoy~
You didn't know how you had gotten roped into playing truth or dare with the smashers- wait a minute... yeah you did.
It was all Toon Link's fault.
"Hey (Y/n)! I need your help! It's my kitty! I think he's sick! Follow me!"
Yep. You fell for that.
You followed the biggest prankster in the Smash mansion because you thought his cat might be sick.
Toon Link doesn't even have a cat!
Of course you didn't know that. You were still new here.
(In retrospect, you would've felt like a monster had the hypothetical cat actually been sick, so at least you can pride yourself on your kindness, but still...)
You glanced around the locked room Toon Link had trapped you in. Other frustrated Smashers were sitting around waiting for Toon Link to get back.
They had all obviously been fooled into coming one way or another. Among them you noticed Inkling.
You bit you lip and looked away quickly, trying not to blush.
Sure, he probably didn't even know you were alive, but that didn't mean he wasn't cute.
"Follow me! Mario's in my room- shirtless!" you heard Toon Link yell from outside the door, opening it and pushing Peach inside.
"M-ario!" she hummed, excitedly skipping in.
Mario ran over to Kirby and pried his mouth open, diving inside.
"Wow. Amazing escape plan Mario." You rolled your eyes sarcastically.
"Alright everyone!" Toon Link clapped his hands to get your attention.
"Now that I have you all in one place, let's play some truth or dare!" he grinned mischievously.
Everybody groaned.
"No." Samus stated defiantly, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Let me out. Now."
Toon Link stood thoughtfully for a moment, before sticking out his tongue at her. "Nope." he laughed.
"I'm not kidding you little punk. Unlock the door, and let me out." she spat, tapping her foot impatiently.
"Nope." Toon Link said again, this time starting to sing.
"Nopety-nope-nope-nope!"
Samus took a step forward and aimed her cannon arm at his head.
"Last chance kid."
Toon Link smiled smugly at her, before slowly putting his hand in his pocket and pulling out the key.
He proceeded to open his mouth wide and dangle the key over it.
"I'll eat it. I really will. We leave this room on my terms." Toon Link declared.
"Ahhhhhhh-"
"Okay! Okay!" Samus groaned, plopping back down on the bench where she was sitting.
"Little brat." she muttered.
"Good." Toon Link smiled triumphantly. "Now. I'll go first."
He glanced around the room, his hand on his chin.
"Zelda. Truth or dare?"
Zelda flinched, smoothing out her dress and frowning.
"Truth." she replied.
"Ugh. So boring." Toon Link rolled his eyes. "Fine then. What would you do if you and Link broke up?"
Zelda ran her hand through her hair, clearly uncomfortable with the question.
"U-umm." she stammered.
"Oh! I'd get back with my ex." she said.
"Ouch." Toon Link laughed. "That's gotta hurt."
"Why? Link would be my ex." Zelda smiled sweetly.
"Awwww." Link grinned.
"Ew." Toon Link gagged.
"Take your turn already Zelda. I'm done with this gushy stuff."
"Okay." she nodded.
"Ness, truth or dare?"
"Oooh. Dare." Ness beamed excitedly.
"Okay. I dare you to talk like a pirate for the entirety of next round."
"Aye-aye me-hearty." Ness shrugged.
"Avast matey!" Ness pointed at you.
"Do ye choose the way of truth, or do ye walk the dangerous path of a darrr?" he asked.
You blushed, realizing all eyes were on you.
"Truth." you said, deciding to play it safe.
"Okay. Uhhh- Do ye perchance have a wee crush on any of the landlubbers in this here room?" Ness asked you, struggling to find the correct pirate-y words.
"...Yes." you nodded quickly, ready to change the subject.
"Ummm-" you glanced at Inkling, before blushing and turning back around.
I can't talk to him..
"Kirby. Truth or dare?"
Kirby spit out Mario, giving him an apologetic look.
(Poor Mario was now exposed to the monstrous harpy called Peach.)
"I choose dare." he said, waddling into the center of the room.
"Okay. I dare you to eat 20 hotdogs." you shrugged.
"Only twenty? Are you kidding?" Kirby laughed. "That's easy. Too easy. Try again!" he challenged you.
"Uhhh- 40?" you suggested.
"I laugh in the face of 40! My grandma can do 40!" Kirby yelled.
"Fine then. 100." you rolled your eyes.
"Now there's a challenge. Bring it on!"
Kirby said, his eyes shimmering with determination.
And so you watched in awe as the puffball swallowed 100 hotdogs.
At once.
"...That's disgusting." Daisy commented.
"I don't think so." Pit shrugged. "I think it's impressive." he stated.
"That's coming from the guy who eats ice cream off the floor." Palutena pointed out.
"Floor ice cream gives you health!" the angel protested.
"Guys! Let's stay focused here!" Toon Link clapped to get everyone's attention. "It's Kirby's turn."
"Okay." Kirby nodded.
"Chrom, truth or dare?"
Chrom thought for a moment before turning to Robin.
"What do you propose we do? As my tactician you've never steered me wrong before."
"Ummm... Truth. Pick truth." Robin advised. The tactician looked a tad bit flustered...
"Okay. Truth." Chrom grinned.
You sighed, knowing that you probably weren't gonna get another turn anytime soon.
"Hey."
A voice whispered.
You glanced around curiously, noticing that Inkling had gotten up and sat on the bench with you, and was now slowly scooting closer.
"Hey." you whispered back, trying not to blush.
"This game is kinda boring, huh?" he said. You shrugged nervously, taking a deep breath in to calm your racing heart.
You studied him up and down, trying to figure out why he was talking you.
You'd never had a conversation before.
Sure, there was the occasional 'hey', or 'what's up?', but that's about as far as you had ever gotten.
"Ummm... is it messy under your bed?" Kirby asked loudly, breaking up your thoughts.
"Oh, that's easy!" Chrom smiled, "Yes."
Everyone sighed, as you rolled your eyes. Soooo boring.
You spun your head around, turning back to Inkling and mustering up a smile.
"Yeah. It is kind of lame."
Inkling stuck his tongue out at you, his wide blue eyes sparkling mischievously.
"Wanna know how we can change that?" he asked, leaning in towards you.
"W-we?" you blushed, scooting back a bit.
"Yep." Inkling nodded.
Anything that had to do with Inkling talking to you was something you wanted to be part of. "Alright." you replied, trying not to sound too excited.
"Pick me next Chrom! C'mon pick me!" Inkling said, bouncing up and down on the bench and waving his hand around.
"Uhhh you- squid guy, Inky, Squid- kid... can I call you that?" Chrom asked, chuckling at the nickname he'd created.
Inkling's eye twitched in annoyance.
He obviously wasn't a fan.
"No. Don't call me that." he muttered.
"Whatever Squidward. Truth or dare?"
Chrom asked.
Inkling sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Dare."
"Okay. I dare you to kiss either the person to your right, or the person to your left." Chrom smiled smugly.
A chorus of "ooooooh"'s echoed through the room.
Finally an interesting dare.
Inkling looked to Bowser on his side. The Koopa King scooted back and raised an eyebrow at Inkling. "Don't do it." he warned.
Inkling laughed, turning to look at you.
Before you realized what was happening, he leaned in and pecked your lips lightly, pulling back almost immediately and blushing.
"T-there."
He stuttered, glaring at Chrom.
It was revenge time.
"Chrom. Truth or dare?" he asked.
"Truth." Chrom stuck out his tongue at Inkling. "Ha ha. Can't make me do something stupid now." Chrom smirked, obviously quite proud of himself.
"Okay. Did you know that Robin and Lucina are dating?" Inkling smiled smugly at him.
Everyone in the room gasped.
Robin's face went pale.
Chrom laughed for a second, before realizing what Inkling had actually just said.
"Wait, what?" he asked, his tone deathly serious.
"Uhhhh... I can explain?" Robin offered, backing away from Chrom slowly. Chrom glared at the white-haired man, his hands subconsciously moving towards the hilt of his sword.
"Robin."
Robin laughed nervously, coughing into his hand. "Y-yes?" he asked weakly.
"For some reason I don't see you trying to deny Squidward's previous statement. I'd like to know why that is." Chrom said, his manner deadly calm.
"Isn't it your turn?" Toon Link reminded the noble.
"Yeeeeeah, it is my turn." Chrom announced. "Robin."
Robin gulped and backed up a few more steps.
"Truth or dare?"
Robin fidgeted nervously before speaking up. "Don't you think we'd better get going? It's getting late and-"
"TRUTH. OR. DARE?"
"Truth." Robin sighed.
"What are your last words?" Chrom hissed.
"Ummmmm..." Robin gulped, glancing around the room in an attempt to stall.
"Arcfire!" Robin shouted, throwing the magical fireball at the door. The spell crashed into the wood with brutal force, knocking the door off its hinges. Robin rushed through the open doorway in an attempt to preserve his life. He ran down the hall as fast as he could, silently praying that Chrom wouldn't catch him.
Chrom jumped to his feet and began his pursuit. "COME BACK HERE AND FACE YOUR END LIKE A MAN YOU SHAMELESS COWARD!!" he screamed.
The others stared for a moment before realizing that, with the destruction of the door, they were now free, and they began streaming out through the charred doorway.
"NO! Wait! Come back!" Toon Link cried, stomping his foot in frustration.
"Ughhhh. Ruined! All my hard work." He sighed, crossing his arms over his chest and walking out disappointedly.
The room was completely empty now, with the exception of you and Inkling. Neither of you had budged an inch since he'd kissed you.
You fiddled nervously with your (tentacle/color) tentacle hair. (Octlings have tentacles, right?)
"Sooooo..." You trailed off, your face flushing at the thought of what had just happened.
He had kissed you... And Robin was gonna die! Oh my gosh! But that didn't matter right now because Inkling had kissed you!
Okay, calm down...
"Well." Inkling laughed, scratching the back of his neck.
"Ummm. Sorry for making things awkward." he apologized, turning to you with a sincere smile on his face.
"I-it's fine." you flashed him a smile of your own. "I didn't mind..." you mumbled, looking at your shoes.
"Hm?" Inkling gently pushed your chin up with his fingers, looking straight into your shimmering (e/c) eyes.
"Nothing!" you blushed, looking away.
His eyes were so mesmerizing.
"Nothing? Really now?" Inkling grinned at you, his blue eyes sparkling mischievously.
You were sure your face was as red as a tomato right now.
"Well I'm going to kiss you again now. If you don't mind." Inkling said teasingly, leaning in closer to you and placing a gentle kiss on your lips.
You flinched, before relaxing into the kiss and smiling.
So yeah, you didn't know how you'd gotten yourself into this situation- wait a minute...yeah you did.
It was all Toon Link's fault.
And you owed him one.
