So without further ado, here it is!

When you first came to the Smash mansion, you were pretty shy, and all the new faces were a bit overwhelming.
Some people would come over to introduce themselves, but you were always too shy to actually initiate in conversation after that, so for the most part people just left you alone.

You were pretty lonely for the first couple days, until the day a mischievous black haired boy came over and introduced himself to you.
You still remember how it all went down...

~Flashback~

"Hi! I'm Ness. What's your name?" He asked you, his eyes shining.
"Hi Ness. I'm (Y/n)." you had replied, shaking his hand.
"Cool name." Ness grinned at you. "You're pretty cute."

"W-what?" You stuttered in shock, your face flushing crimson.
Ness giggled and grabbed your hand.
"Lemme introduce you to my friends!"

He had pulled you over to a small group of boys, who were playing in the hallway. You looked around at the group of children with wide eyes.

You saw a blond-haired boy wearing a green tunic talking to brown-haired boy in a red shirt. A small yellow Pokémon bounced around at their feet. Another boy stood outside the circle. He had blond hair and wore an orange striped shirt.
He looked kind of lonely...

"Hey guys! Look, I made a new friend!"
Ness pointed at you excitedly.
"Hi." You waved simply.
"Her name is (Y/n)."

"Whoa. It's a girl." Toon Link gawked at you. "Um." You stated hesitantly, taking a step behind Ness.
"Yeah." you mumbled.

"Toonie! That's rude. Don't stare at a lady!" Ness stepped forward and slapped him.
"Hey! I wasn't even staring dude! I'm just surprised you got a girl to talk to you. " The boy stated, smirking at Ness, before turning to you and plastering a grin on his face.

"I'm Toon Link. Nice to meet ya." He stuck out his hand.
"(Y/n)." You smiled at him, shaking his hand.

"This here is Villager- he doesn't talk much- This little guy is Pichu-" he stopped for a minute to pat the baby Pokémon's head,
"And that over there is Lucas.
Lucas! Come say hi!"
Toon Link stepped out out circle and grabbed Lucas's had, pulling him in.

"Lucas, this is (Y/n)." Toon Link grinned at him, stepping back from the two of you.

You two stared at each other for an awkward minute, before you decided to speak up.
"Hi." You stuck your hand out at him.
He glanced down at it, and hesitantly put his hand in yours.
"H-hi."

He quickly pulled his hand back and blushed, staring at his shoes and backing away.
You opened your mouth to say more- but Ness cut you off.

"You can be part of our group if you want! Whaddya say?"

You looked around at the faces of the expectant boys. "Yeah." You grinned excitedly. "Thank you."

"Of course!" Toon Link laughed, linking his arm through yours.
(See what I did there?)

"Lemme show you around!"
He pulled you away, followed by Ness, Pichu, and Villager.
You glanced over your shoulder helplessly, to see Lucas still standing where they had left him.

You sighed, now allowing yourself to be dragged away. Lucas. Hmm.

~Flashback over~

That happened three months ago, and ever since then you'd been hanging out with the group.
Ness and Toon Link always seemed to be fighting over who got the position of ringleader, and Pichu and Villager couldn't talk, but they were still pretty friendly towards you.
And then there was Lucas.

He was probably your best friend in the group. He was really sweet, and you had grown quite fond of him, even though he still didn't say much.
After that first day you'd met, you'd gone up to him and tried talking to him again.
At first he was super shy around you, with your conversations consisting of mostly one word responses.
But after a while, he warmed up to you, and you could talk to him without his face turn turning the color of a tomato.

You could tell him almost anything- he was a really good listener- but there was one thing you could never gather enough courage to say...
Yep. You had a crush on the boy.

"Hey! Earth to (Y/n)!" Ness snapped in front of your face, shaking you from your thoughts.
"You were spacing out there." Ness laughed, scratching the back of his neck. "Are you okay?"

"Hm? Oh. Yeah." You nodded at him, grinning. "I'm fine." You gave him a thumbs up.

"Cool. Cuz I'm about to explain the rules of the game."

The game? You racked your brain, trying to remember exactly what you were supposed to be playing.
Ohhhhh. Partnered hide n' seek.
That was it.
Ness liked it better then normal hide n' seek because it was faster.
He could be pretty impatient sometimes.
"So, you have to pick a partner-"
Ness started.

"I PICK VILLAGER!"
You all cut him off- shouting in unison.
He was THE best hide and seek player ever. He couldn't talk- so that problem was non-existent, and he was also super good at hiding.
None of you knew how. You just all knew you wanted him on your team.

"Hey! No fair!" Ness shouted, stamping his foot.
"Let me finish!"
He cleared his throat and started again.

"We all pick a partner, and then you have to go hide with that person until the end of the game. We'll draw straws to see who gets Villager." Ness crossed his arms over his chest.

"Okay." You all nodded in agreement. That was a fair way to do it.

Villager stood by, beaming. He wasn't usually this popular, so he really enjoyed playing hide and seek.
It was the only time he ever felt useful.

"Okay- everyone pick a straw out of the cup! The straw with the duck sticker on the bottom gets Villager!"
Ness said, holding out the cup for you all to grab one.

"HA!" Toon Link shouted excitedly, waving his straw in the air.
"I get Villager! Take that suckers!"
He grabbed Villager and pulled him down the hall.
"We're going to hide now!" He called back over his shoulder.

"Cheater." Ness mumbled, putting the cup down.
"H-hey (Y-Y/n). Do you t-think we could be p-partners?"
Lucas asked you shyly, fiddling his thumbs.

"I-in the g-game of course!" He exclaimed, waving his hands in front of his face frantically to hide his blush.

"R-right. Yeah of course!" You grinned, at him, trying to calm the crazy butterflies flying around in your stomach.
"I guess I get you then." Ness stated, looking down at Pichu.
Pichu nodded, before scampering up Ness's leg and perching on his shoulder.

"Okay. Pichu and I will be 'it' first."
Ness said, giving you a thumbs up, and winking at Lucas.
"You got this dude!" He whisper-shouted.

Lucas suddenly found his shoes very interesting, as you pulled him away from where Ness was standing.
"Ness's being weird, huh?" You asked Lucas nervously, trying to get a conversation going.

"H-hm? O-oh. Ness." Lucas said, glancing up into your eyes. "Y-yeah. Super weird." He nodded at you.
"So where should we hide?" You asked, glancing around the kitchen, which was where you had pulled him.

"H-how about i-in the pantry?" He suggested, quickly adding a: "I-if you want too."

"Oooh! Good idea!" You smiled, grabbing his hand and pulling him over to the pantry.
Lucas's face burned bright pink at the sudden contact, as you dragged him inside, shutting the door behind you.

"There. There's no way he'll find us in here." You smiled at the boy, sitting down next to him.
You two sat in silence for a moment, before Lucas spoke up.

"S-so, hey. I-if someone w-were to ask you if y-you...er- h-had feelings
for anyone i-in particular, w-what
would you, ah, tell them?"
Lucas asked, trying his best not to stutter. (And failing miserably.)

"Are you asking me if I have a crush on anyone?" You inquired curiously, leaning in to look into Lucas's bright blue eyes.

"N-no!" Lucas blushed, clearly flustered.
"W-well. M-maybe?"

You shook your head and smiled.
"You're so cute."
You immediately covered your mouth in shock.
"Ahhh! I d-didn't mean to say that aloud- I-I didn't mean it like that! Well- I did, but-"
Your cheeks turned crimson, as you hurriedly tried to explain yourself.

"I-it's okay (Y/n)." Lucas smiled a you.
"I g-get it."

"P-phew." You breathed out.
That was a close one.
"But to answer your previous question- yeah. I do like someone." You blushed, dropping your gaze to your lap.
"O-oh." Lucas sighed disappointedly.

There was another awkward silence, before Lucas took a deep breath and spoke up.

"W-well. The g-guy you l-like is r-really lucky." he nodded.

"O-oh. Why is that?" you asked curiously.
"W-well, you're r-really sweet, a-and
p-pretty." Lucas rambled, his cheeks dusted pink.

"Y-you really think all that?" You asked, your eyes widening.
"Erm... Y-yeah?" Lucas nodded, smiling at you sweetly.

"I like you Lucas." You grinned, leaning in towards him.
"W-wha-" he started, but you cut him off by placing your lips on his.
He flinched, before relaxing a bit into the kiss.

"I FOUND YO-ACK!" Ness yelled, swinging open the pantry door and quickly slamming it back shut.
You pulled apart from Lucas quickly, your faces matching shades of scarlet.

"I'm going to open the door again now- so you two better not be kissing." Ness said cautiously, creaking the door open.
"You sly little love birds."
he laughed, Pichu jumping off his shoulder and nodding in agreement.

"S-shut up!" You frowned, scooting away from Lucas.
"T-that was g-great." Lucas muttered, still completely dazed.

You hopped up off the floor, walking out of the pantry as casually as you could.

Toon Link stood outside with Villager frowning.
"I never thought Ness would check the girls bathroom." He sighed disappointedly. Pichu shocked him with jolt of electricity, fainting immediately afterwards.

Your eyes widened. "What!?"

"Yeah." Ness nodded.
"You'd think what I witnessed with you and Lucas was the weirdest thing I've seen today." He shook his head.
"You'd be wrong."

They all walked ahead, as you waited behind for Lucas.
When he finally pushed himself up off the ground and walked towards you, he grabbed your hand in his and smiled.

"H-hide and seek is my new favorite game."
