Corrin x Singer Reader: Karaoke night
Hello! I'm back with another chapter requested by

But real quick....
How does this book have over 700 reads?!?!
What the actual heck?!? This is so amazing!
It really means the world to me that so many people enjoy and appreciate my work!
Quick warning! This chapter is rated T for some swearing. (This is my editor's fault. If you don't like it, complain about him in the comments.)
Okay, here we go. Enjoy~
It was a bright sunny morning at the Smash mansion, and you were walking around the lobby, hanging up posters for the open house karaoke that was happening that night.
You prided yourself on your voice, because unlike some,
*ahem* Peach *ahem*
You could sing beautifully.
Music was a huge part of your life, so naturally you enjoyed singing.
Anyone who's ever heard you always said you sounded like an angel.
If only a certain someone were here to see you sing tonight...
"Hey (Y/n)!"
You glanced up, looking for the owner of the familiar voice while shaking your head to clear your thoughts.
"Hello Zelda."
You smiled at the blonde.
"What's up?"
"One second..." she panted, holding up a finger and resting her hands on her knees.
"Okay."
She smoothed out her dress and took a deep breath.
"How far did you run?" you asked, raising a eyebrow.
"That's not important." she shushed you.
"Guess what?"
"Umm. What?" you inquired curiously.
"Corrin got back from visiting his family early! That means that he'll be there tonight when you sing!" Zelda squealed. "After you mesmerize him with your voice, you can confess!" she giggled.
"Z-Zelda!" you blushed, puffing out your cheeks.
"Stop it! We're just friends! How many times do I have to tell you?" you sighed, rubbing your temples.
You didn't want to be "just friends". You thought Corrin was funny, smart, sweet, and super cute. I mean, you had tried desperately to come up with a way to tell Corrin how you felt, but every time you tried to go through with it... you chickened out.
"Okay." Zelda smirked at you, unimpressed with your response.
"Sureeeee. Uh-huh. Yeah."
She placed her hands on her hips.
"I don't believe that for a second."
"Yes, you've made that abundantly clear." you muttered, rolling your eyes.
"C'mon (Y/n)! Trust me on this one, you were practically made for each other." Zelda told you.
"Hey guys!"
You both spun around to see Peach skipping towards you.
"Hey Peach." you waved tentatively, unsure of her intentions.
Sure, she could be sweet, bust she was also a psychopath. She was literally obsessed with Mario, and it was honestly pretty horrifying. She was about one step away from being a Yandere stalker.
"Are you guys going to be singing tonight?" she asked you, twirling a lock of her golden hair around her finger.
"Yeah..." you smiled nervously, taking a step away from her.
"Are you?"
"Uh huh." she nodded. "I'm gonna sing love songs for Mario." she hummed, giggling like a crazed fangirl.
"Okay." Zelda gave her a sarcastic thumbs up.
"Goooood luck with that."
"Thank you." Peach smiled sweetly, clearly oblivious to the heavy sarcasm.
"I'll see you guys tonight. Bu-bye!" she giggled, skipping away.
"That girl has issues." Zelda sighed, shaking her head.
"To go crazy over some gu- Hi Link!" Zelda cut herself off, blushing and waving to the green-clad hero who had just entered the room.
"I'll be back (Y/n)." she smiled, squeezing your hand before running over to talk to Link.
"To go crazy over some guy."
You smirked, raising an eyebrow.
Ohhhhhhh Zelda.
"Hey (Y/n). I missed you." a familiar voice rang in your ears.
A pair of arms wrapped around your waist, and Corrin rested his chin on your shoulder.
"How ya been?" he laughed.
"U-umm." you blushed, forcing words to come out of your mouth.
"G-good. Great actually." you grinned.
Corrin laughed, making your heart flutter.
"That's good to know. I bet you're excited for the karaoke tonight, huh? If I had a voice like yours, I know I would be." Corrin teased, poking your cheek.
"S-stop it." you giggled, breaking away from his grasp.
"Yeah, I guess I'm a bit excited." you admitted. "Are you going?"
"I'm pretty tired actually." Corrin frowned. "I think I'd rather just relax. Maybe watch a movie and take a nap or something."
"O-oh." you sighed, trying to hide your disappointment.
"I'm sure you'll do great though." he grinned at you, giving you a thumbs up.
"I gotta go unpack now. I'll talk to you later (N/n)." he laughed, waving at you and turning on his heel to walk away.
You couldn't help but grin at him as he walked away. You really had missed him. He'd been gone visiting his family for two weeks.
"I'm glad you're back." you whispered to yourself with a soft sigh.
"Wait a minute..." you spoke out loud, tilting your head.
"I went crazy over some guy... Dang it!" you stomped your foot.
"Oh well...He's a special case..."
~Time-skip to that night~
bloooo-kshhhhh-vooo-veee-vooo-veee (those are time-skip noises)
The stage was set up, the seats were all folded out, and the microphones were all working. Everything was perfect. I'm just kidding... Only two of the five microphones were working, because that's just how it goes. (Like, seriously though- why is it impossible to have all the microphones working at the same time? Does federal law require that half of all microphones present at any given event must be broken? Anyway...)
As people started excitedly filing into the Smash theater, buying drinks and signing up for a turn on the stage, the butterflies in your stomach started going crazy.
Sure, you were an amazing singer, but that doesn't mean you weren't nervous.
Luckily for you, Peach got to sing three songs before you had to go up.
And they were all love songs for Mario. They went something like this:
"I would love it if Mario called me señorita,
I wish it wasn't so darn hard to read ya!" (I know, these are not the official lyrics. This is Peach's version of the song, remember?)
And:
"Love me, Love me~ say that Mario loves me! Fool me, fool me- oh how Mario do me!"
And:
"I said I looked a mess, Mario muttered underneath his breath- I heeeeard it~ Mario looks perfect-tonight!"
You get the point.
It was pretty bad. Scratch that. It was horrendous. It was the most horrific karaoke you'd ever witnessed, with several popular songs being completely butchered.
Poor Mario stood to the side, banging his head against a brick wall in despair. You tried to console him, but it was no help. Peach was too much for the poor man.
Oh well... Hey, it's not like it's your problem.
You ran up onto the stage, deciding to stop this abomination before it went any further.
"Thank you Peach." You laughed nervously.
"Okay, it's my turn now."
Peach nodded happily, before skipping off the stage to find Mario.
You glanced around the crowded room, searching for Corrin, though you knew he wouldn't be there.
You felt your heart sink to your stomach. "There goes that plan Zelda." you sighed.
"Oh well..." you took a deep breath, trying to calm your nerves.
"Hello everyone! I'm going to be singing (favorite song)." you said, plastering a grin on your face and looking out at the crowd of faces.
The music started up and you closed your eyes, tapping your foot to the rhythm. This was your song. You sang the words you had memorized by heart, pouring your soul into your performance while smiling out at the crowd.
The entire room was quiet, with everyone watching your performance.
Everyone except him...
When the song ended, the audience was silent. You glanced around at them nervously. Did they hate it? The hell were they so quiet for?
"Give it up for the greatest singer in the world!" a voice boomed behind you.
You spun around to see Corrin, who was now up on the stage with you.
"C-Corrin?" you asked in disbelief.
The audience broke out in applause, as you smiled and took a bow, before running over to Corrin and wrapping him in a hug.
"I thought you weren't coming." you said, breaking apart from the hug and blushing.
"I couldn't miss your performance
(Y/n)." Corrin grinned sincerely, ruffling your hair.
"C-Corrin...there's something I need to tell you." you said, taking a deep breath to calm your nerves. You glanced put into the crowd to Zelda, who have you a thumbs up.
"I-well...I-" you started, before groaning in frustration.
"There has to be a better way to say this." you mumbled.
You took a deep breath.
"I like you." you breathed quietly, looking to your feet and blushing.
"I get it you don't feel the same way... But I was sorta hoping-" you bit your lip to cut yourself off. You could feel you stomach twisting into a thousand different knots.
Corrin gently placed his hand under your chin, lifting it up to look into your eyes.
"I like you too." he smiled.
"What? Really?!? For real?!?" you asked, too scared to raise your voice above a whisper.
"Yep."
Corrin laughed, booping your nose.
You beamed and pulled him towards you, placing a gentle kiss on his lips.
He kissed back, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you closer to him.
An "Awwwwwww." rang out through the crowd, followed by an "Ewwwww!" from the Smash kids, followed by a "The fu**?! Keep that sh** to yourself, da**it!" from Dark Pit. Several members of the audience nodded in agreement with the dark angel's previous statement.
You froze in place, realizing too late that the microphones had been on the whole time.
Both of your faces flushed beet red, and you ran off stage, trying to escape the jeers from the audience.
"So what do we do now?" Corrin asked.
"We watch the show silly." you laughed, grabbing his arm and pulling him into the crowd.
•••
"I told her so." Zelda smirked to herself, as if she was somehow responsible for all of this.
*Bonus ending* to thank you for your patience.
After a long night of karaoke and
fun, you walked out of the theater and down the hall, going towards the recycling bin to throw away your pop can. You tossed it in, turning on your heel to walk to your room when an "Oof-" noise came from behind you. You froze and spun around, walking back over towards the bin and peering in.
There, scrunched into a ball, was a crazed looking Mario, shivering in fear.
"Don't-a tell her I'm-a here!" he whisper-shouted at you.
"Umm." you raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"A-Peach da**it! DON'T-A TELL HER!" he said, grabbing your wrists and forcing you to look straight into his crazed eyes.
"Swear it! A-SWEAR YOU WON'T A-TELL!" he begged, teetering dangerously close to the brink of insanity.
"Okay, okay." you nodded, eyes-wide.
"I won't tell." you promised softly.
You spun around and quickly walked away from the scene.
"Ooooookay then..." you stated.
"I feel really bad for Mario. Maybe I should get him to a therapist..."
That's it for this chapter! Thanks so much for reading!
Coming up next we have a
Banjo x Reader, so stay tuned.
(I know it sounds weird, but I promise you: that chapter is not something you'll want to miss. Trust me.)
Anyway, feel free to leave your feedback and requests, as both are greatly appreciated! (Seriously, I love hearing from you guys!)
