DUN DUN DUNN NNNN

Also: Who's your favourite Sm4sh Character? Mine's obviously Peach ❤

OKAY HERE WE GOOO

___________

❤PEACH POV❤

___________

Just when I thought things couldn't possibly get worse, they did. They always do. I don't understand why I'm having such bad luck lately, but I'm sure in time it'll get better.

For now, Our class is currently in a giant room, which looks pretty classy. There's eight pads in front of us, and two gold doors on either side.

And beside me, Is my support team, Rosalina, Luma and Robin. Luma kept snuggling up to me, and the other two just kept giving awkward glances to each other. They've been doing that since breakfast.

And to my right, was my competition, Zelda. Her head was held high and her Pixelator was out, it shining with a green haze.

She was ready for battle, unlike me.

"Alright class, we are now going to demonstrate how to get into battle." Palutena gestured to the eight pads in front of us, each 2 a different colour. Red, Blue, Yellow and Green. One screen was on a panel beside each pad, and it had the school logo on the screen.

"First, step on any one of the eight pads." She motioned for us to go ahead and commence the demo. Everyone in my class except for Zelda and I stayed still and then stepped forward.

My school shoes clicked on the hard pad and then it started to alight with a white light, engulfing my body.

The light filled up to my chest, my vision still clear. This was so astonishing... I was really excited to brawl.

However, I'm not excited to get my royal roots handed to by Zelda.

"Now that you're on a pad, take your Smash Pixelator and scan it with the scanner beside you." I looked at her as she made a small hand demo.

Zelda swiped hers on the scanner, the equipment saying: "Zelda Hyrule, House Evergreen." She then took her Pixelator and clipped it to the left side of her chest.

"Yes. Just like Zelda. After scanning, you clip it to your chest." The goddess noted, looking at me to do the same.

Cautiously, I took my Pixelator and scanned it on the panel. After the panel made a high pitched noise, it then showed on the screen my ID picture along with my personal info. "Peach Toadstool, House Evergreen."

I pinned it on the same side as Zelda did.

"Listen carefully, Students. Putting the Pixelator on is very important. Do not put it in your pocket. You have to wear it." She paced back and forth while I tried to keep myself focused. "If you do not enter the brawl arena with a attached Pixelator and get pushed off the edge of the stage, you will seize to exist."

People have done that? Oh my. I'm kinda intimidated now.

I checked my pin was attached. Twice.

"Now that every person for the battle is ready, press the button under the scanner." Palutena said.

Zelda and I pressed ours in unison.

The whole room echoed with words from the machine. "Ready to Fight?"

Once those words were spoken, the light engulfing both of us went from white to a bright green. Showing our house crest on the screen.

I'm stunned. Scared. Excited. I'm not sure. This is my first battle, I think feeling this way is right.

"After it says this, you wait for the 15 second countdown to end. The rest of us go into one of the two doors on the sides to watch. No Pixelator is required since we're watching. Now hurry along, The other classes should be already here." She opened the doors to the battlefield, everyone going into the door.

The other classes are here? Great. I get to be beat up in front of my friends and Second Gens.

After the last person went into the door, it was just Palutena, Zelda and I left with 7 seconds left.

"Good luck, Ladies. I know this will be a fair and good fight." She curtsied and left us, closing the gold door behind her.

It was just Zelda and I now.

"Good luck, Peach." Her words directed to me like bullets being fired. "You're definitely gonna need it."

I'm sure I felt my lip quiver slightly.

The room echoed with a loud '4' and we both got covered in the green light, and all I remember is Zelda gripping her fists and sending me death glances.

*******

"THREE!"

"TWO!"

"ONE!"

"GO!"

I took in a big breath, looking around at my new surroundings.

"W-Where are we?" I asked, the sun shining brightly in my eyes.

Zelda stepped out of the sunlight, her eyes glowing. I noticed she wasn't in her smash uniform anymore, she was in a ivory white dress, with a purple upper body. There was accents of gold plated armour, and a really complicated design on the front of the dress. She completed her princess look with brown combat boots, ear piercings and white gloves.

"We're on the stage called Large Battlefield. Didn't you read the screen?" She placed her gloved hands on her hips.

"No, I'm sorry." I bowed, noticing I wasn't in my smash uniform either. I was in my pink dress, my pink high heels, white gloves and blue jewelry.

Ahh!!! This dress isn't for combat! Sadly, I didn't really have a choice!

"Come on, Zeldie, kick her butt already!" I heard Earthbound scream from the bleachers.

"You can do it, Peach!" I heard Wendy's voice from the crowd.

I was scared. I honestly was. No one knows what my move set is. I don't want to get teased for it, but I have to at least try to beat her... even though I have no chance.

"HI-YAH!" The Hyrule Princess let out a strike of magical power, hitting my front pretty hard. Holy, this girls' got game.

Small pebbles scratched my skins' surface once I hit the ground. Ouch.

From my peripheral vision, I saw the white dressed princess came dashing towards me, ready to attack again.

Here goes nothing!

She tried to attack me from my bottom half, but I quickly jumped up and kicked her multiple times in the face. The now furious princess held her face in pain, as I watched the red pixels disappear from her face.

"Oh, your gonna get it, Blondie!" She yelled, and made a ball of fire with her magical abilities, directing it towards me.

Unfortunately for me, I was back on the ground again.

Every consecutive hit she made on me really hurt, as my defence wasn't very strong at the moment.

After finishing me with a final magic hit, I laid on the ground, trying to stand up again. Zelda walked slowly towards me and grabbed my neck.

"This is what you get for being with Link." She snapped.

Wait.

Did she just inquire Link and I in the same sentence romantically?

Not this again.

"Zelda, it's nothing like that! I really hate Link!" Her grip got tighter as she pulled me in towards her.

"Sure, because almost kissing him is definitely a sign of hatred." I was tossed onto the ground, my whole body going slightly red.

I scrambled to stand up before she could say anymore.

"Hold on, I didn't try to kiss him, he tried to kiss ME!" I screamed, taking out my frying pan. Don't ask where it comes from, it's the dilemma that keeps people guessing.

The blue eyed girl swiftly dodged my swing, quickly kicking me from behind. "That's what they all say, Blondie."

Landing on the ground harder than before, I fought to keep my eyes open.

"Dammit, Zelda. I'm telling the truth!" It was a matter of seconds before I was back on my feet again, with a bit of encouraging words from my mind.

"I have no romantic feelings for him! At all!" I pulled a turnip from the ground. Now noticing it was a bomb instead, I chucked it straight at her, watching her soar through the skies.

Zelda came back down with a large thump, her body glowing a vibrant red.

"Then--" she struggled to stand. "Then why the hell are you around him all the time, huh?" Her left arm was clutched in her right hand, her eye now bruising. "Don't lie to a princess, I know what love is when I see it!"

She stood up weakly and charged at me, still angry as ever. A blast of her energy was absorbed by impacting my torso, causing me to go flying.

I felt like the air was suffocating me a bit as I kept going higher into the sky. Was this the end? Did I end up losing?

But, I met my best friend, the rock hard ground once again.

I took a mental check for a quick second. My hair was a mess, the sapphire from my dress was missing, I had various cuts along my body, and a giant bruise where my white glove was.

But I knew one thing.

I wasn't gonna lose this battle.

"I'm not lying! If you'd just let me explain myself, maybe we wouldn't be having this fight!"

And then, out of no where...

I exploded.

"MAYBE IF YOU JUST OPENED UP YOUR EARS, WE WOULD BE FRIENDS INSTEAD OF ASSUMING I LIKE HIM AND GETTING ALL MAD AT SOMEONE WHO'S DONE NOTHING!"

Yelling, I charged at her, slapping her across the face, so loud it made the stadium silent.

Like, dead silent.

Zelda stood there, quite stunned. She brought a gloved hand to her cheek, where the red pixels started to fade.

"I---" she started, looking down as if her shoes were more interesting.

Why did I just say all that?

Ugh. I think my unladylike speech just made things worse.

Before she could say anything, I apologized. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to, at least that hard--"

"Press your Pixelator." She said, fists alight with magic.

Did she just say.... Press your Pixelator?

"What?" My jaw was dropped, she was dead serious. "Why?"

Zelda raised her hand to her Pixelator. "It's okay, I'm doing it too." She looked at me with...

Apologetic eyes?

"On three, Peach." she gave me a small glance, as I swallowed hard and did as I was told.

What was going on? What is Zelda doing? What were we doing?

She swallowed hard before letting a word slip out of her glossed lips.

"Three."

*********

Now back in reality, I opened my eyes to see the two of us were back on the pads, the pads glowing a white light.

My opponent looked down, as we both were back in our Smash Academy uniforms. The panel screen then showed us two giant words in bold.

"NO CONTEST."

"Um, Peach?" The princess mumbled, my eyes averting to her. "Did you mean what you said?" She looked up at me, searching my eyes for an answer.

"Yes, I did." Yes! She finally understands me! WOOHOO! Score one, Peach!

"Really? nothing. No signs of love anywhere?" She glared as I giggled.

"Nope, nothing. I swear on my kingdom I don't." I gave her a small smile.

She really just wanted to know. It just took her a little bit to stop and smell the roses.

But then realization hit me like a brick.

THE REASON SHE WAS MAD

IS BECAUSE

SHE LIKES LINK!

Oh my Toadstools, Oh my Toadstools, Oh my Toadstools, Oh my Toadstools OH MY TOADSTOOLS!!!!!

Ahhhhhh!!!! This makes SO MUCH SENSE!!! Why did I not see this EARLIER?

"Wait, Zelda. Do you like Link?" I asked. As if I was reading her mind, the princess' face burned a vibrant scarlet.

So that's why she was mad.

She really likes him, and wants to claim him.

Well, she can go RIGHT AHEAD. He's been a nuisance and he kinda complements her.

The shuffling of Zelda's feet echoed in the quiet room.

"Promise you won't say a word?" Her hands clasped together as she pleaded.

I mimicked a zipper closing my lips shut with my finger as the zipper. "Lips are sealed."

She blushed crimson as she twirled a brown lock in between her fingers.

"Okay, maybe a little bit." She shyly tucked the piece of hair behind her elfin ear. I giggled until she slapped her hand onto my mouth. "But don't tell ANYONE, okay? I don't want any juniors telling him. He only sees me as a friend and nothing more."

I smiled. "I won't, Zelda."

"I'm sorry I got mad at you, Peach. I let my feelings for him get out of hand and it was all just a-" she started, but I stopped her before she could ramble on.

"It's okay, really!" I giggled and without warning, I gave her a big hug.

She needed it. I needed to let her know that I was not trying to fight her, but to be friendly to her.

I wanna be friends. With Zelda.

Zelda was definitely startled at first because of my sudden action. As planned; however, she eased up and returned the hug.

It was really nice to know that we were on good terms now.

After parting, we both smiled at each other and a millisecond later she placed her hand in front of me.

"I'm afraid I didn't introduce myself properly." She gave a crooked smile.

The princess cleared her throat before speaking.

"My name is Zelda Hyrule. Princess of Hyrule. It's a honour to meet you."

Smiling, I took her hand, sealing our fate once again.

"My name is Peach Toadstool, Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. I'm looking forward to being friends."

We both giggled before hugging, and I swear I could feel her smile radiating off of my shoulder.

***********

"Yay! I'm glad you guys cleared things up." the fitness girl laced her fingers around my arm and Zelda's, squishing us close to her. We exchanged glances before smiling at each other.

The six of us girls (yes, this includes Sammy) were walking down the halls of the Smash Mansion, being adored by the various Juniors getting ready to depart campus.

As a princess, and a trained one at that, I smiled and waved at the array of future generation students. They all had smiles on after we passed them.

The ponytailed blonde looked at all of us, a little stern-like. "Should we start heading to the Dining Hall or do we want to head back to our dorm?"

Beside me, Lucina took out her gold cased SmashPhone and clicked the button. I looked over, her home screen reading 5:24pm. "Well, it's dinner in about 6 minutes, I think we should head there." We all nodded before greeting students again.

I can't believe how much time passed while Zelda and I were in the Battlefield. It felt like a short...maybe 3 minutes. But in reality, it was 2 hours.

Gotta love how logic works.

After turning a corner, the six of us saw a bench on the left hand side. I think everyone was tired since Lucina and Wendy darted for it, the two claiming seats while Rosalina sat on top of them.

"Rosie! There's no more space!" Wendy tried pushing her off while the masked beauty's face was getting squished in between the wall and Rosalina's thigh.

"Get off!" Lucina muffled, me laughing at her face.

Rosalina didn't move a muscle.

"Oh my Toadstools..." I giggled for what seemed like the millionth time today, and I tried to help Lucina out by getting the galaxy princess off of them.

On the other hand, Zelda and Samus just stood there, questioning us. Probably thinking we were the weirdest bunch of first generation students they've ever encountered.

But instead, they just laughed. Zelda wiping a tear from her eye.

"I think you need to intervene." I watched her nudge the blonde beside her, the girl laughing uncontrollably.

"Oh my god, I can't watch this." The bounty hunter wiped her eyes and took the stardust blonde off of them, the two breathing heavily. Lucina gripped her heart as Wendy leaned against the arm rest. The rest of us were just laughing.

I looked around while covering my mouth of giggles.

All six of us. We're finally all friends.

My eyes looked at each girl as I recited their names in my head. Samus, Zelda, Lucina, Rosalina and Wendy.

I can sense a good year vibe coming on!

"Alright, Girls, Let's sit. I think we have some introductions to conclude." I announced, as I went across the hall and grabbed the other bench, Zelda, Samus and I sitting on it while the others made room for Rosalina on their bench.

"Okay, Zelda, Samus. Who wants to start?" The brunette across from me asked, placing her pale hands in her pockets.

The two girls beside me exchanged glances before one of them spoke.

"Well, my name is Zelda Hyrule." She gave a small smile while looking at the other girls. "I'm a second generation student here, and I'm the Princess of Hyrule." She left a small pause, indicating it was Samus's turn.

"And I'm Samus Aran, and I'm this girls 3 year best friend." Zelda raised an eyebrow, smiling. "I'm also a second generation student, and I'm the only girl to ever be in House Cerulean."

"So it's really true." Wendy tapped her chin as Samus nodded. "Wow." She sat there awestruck, Samus feeling a little uncomfortable at the athletic girls' staring.

Thankfully she got the hint after all of us were staring at her.

"Sorry, I'm just... I was always so inspired watching you Smash on TV, I never thought any of the blogs I read were telling the truth."

I bit my lip. "Wait...The Smash House Championships is broadcasted nationally?"

"Yes. It's really popular on TV nearing Spring." Samus stated.

Now I know I'm going to need to work on my makeup skills so that I look pristine on TV....along with my smash skills, of course.

"They tape EVERYTHING." the monarch of wisdom furrowed her brows. "Even when you least expect it."

Maybe Zelda's a had a bad past with the cameramen. She didn't seem very happy after mentioning them, but her smile returned when Samus placed her hand on her shoulder.

"May we ask what happened?" Lucina said.

I felt this might be an uncomfortable topic for her, but she decided to tell us anyway.

"They asked me about my whole crush on Link on national television when I was getting ready for another day of smashing. I gave them no comments, but they kept egging me on since we used to be so close." She placed a hand on her chin, a frown spreading on her face.

I placed my right hand on hers, hoping she'd get my message of sympathy.

"But inside, I know I really like him. I know the Link I have strong feelings for is still under his really annoying, cocky, irritating..." she kept adding on adjectives. "...and ego centric exterior. I know the real, courageous and sweet Link is in there."

"D'AWWWWW!!! That's so incredibly adorable!" Wendy gushed like a One-Up Direction fan. It was a matter of seconds until a red faced Zelda silenced her with a hand to the girls' mouth.

"SHHHHH!!!!" her eyes were lined with fear. "No one can know I have a crush on Link except for us, okay? I don't wanna start drama, yet alone embarrass myself when he denies my feelings!" Wendy nodded, along with the rest of us.

Samus just rolled her eyes. She probably witnesses her best friend give this lecture to a lot of people.

"Oh look, if it isn't Peach and her friends!"

The group of us looked behind us to see a group of smashers, and in front...

That Earthbound kid.

Zelda motioned us to stand up, while she and Samus moved the bench so that the two groups were facing each other.

My mind is telling me something wrong is gonna happen right about now. Not good.

"Ness....what do you want?" Zelda sighed, adjusting her school vest and dusting off her skirt.

The kid I knew as Earthbound, now known as Ness, rolled his eyes. "Just to tell you how majorly disappointed I am in you, Senpai."

Senpai? What the Mushrooms does that mean?

"How so?" She questioned, raising a fine eyebrow.

The red capped boy just rolled his eyes again. However....

This time it was directed at me.

"You forfeited the match in class today. I thought you were more powerful than that, Zelda." Behind him stood Little Mac, Robin, a little version of Link, a guy in blue armour with a gun hand and Olimar, the kid in my class who wore the spacesuit.

"Especially since your opponent was nothing but a prissy girly-girl." His words attacked me like shards of ice stabbing my limbs.

I'm not prissy. I might be a girly-girl, but I am NOT afraid to punch someone in the face if necessary.

Samus noticed I was getting angry by the second, and interrupted the midget.

"Woah, Nessy-boy. She's just a first year, cut her some slack." she stepped in front of her best friend, hands on her hips.

Ness just blew a bubble with his pink bubblegum, and it popped just before making contact with her face.

"I'm sorry, Samus. But this was just disappointing since Zelda is the best female smasher in this school. She didn't need to back out of a battle with a newbie. She could have taken the girl out in seconds."

Alright, squirt. Wanna see me take YOU out instead?

I felt so tempted to take that kid down, but it might be best not to start an out of arena fist fight. It's not very ladylike of me.

"Hey, shut up, small fry!" Wendy hollered from the back of our crowd, pushing in front of all of us, sticking a pale digit on Ness's chest. "You have no right to be calling people out like that."

The little boy just smirked evil-like. "Oh don't think I was just talking about Peach, Wii Fit Trainer." He chewed his gum furiously. "You're just as weak as she is. Please, a fighter who can only fight using yoga stretches? It's a pity I won't see you pass the first round at the Smash House Championships." He flicked Wendy's hand as if she was a scrap piece of parsley on his plate.

The six of us were piping mad, while the other smashers on the other side just giggled.

All except for Little Mac. Who looked furious.

"Lay off, man." Mac said, trying to prevent more of Ness's negativity. He just brushed him off and kept talking.

"Also, what kind of stage name is Wii Fit Trainer? Are you trying to be creative or just plain stupid?" He cackled like a witch.

Right now, I think Wendy wanted to tackle Ness to the ground and strangle him. She looked like her eyes could stab you.

The little boy then used the bench to get to the trainer's eye level, and tilted her chin to face him.

"I'd want to face you in practice reps, but I don't think it's worth my time trying to punch a feather."

"Okay, knock it off, Ness!" blue hair blew past me, the girl sternly clenching her fist.

Before I was going to input my opinion, Little Mac imputed his.

"I said LAY OFF, NESS!" he gripped the back of his blazer collar and tossed him into the wall, the loud boom causing us to all scream in shock.

Woah.

It was silent for a couple of minutes, minus the crumbling of drywall, until Ness resurfaced, dusting his blazer off.

He looked with pure anger.

"You know it's against the school rules to fight off the field." He scoffed. "Just wait till' the Headmaster hears about this!" He scampered off, the blue man, Olimar and the mini Link following behind him, leaving us and the broken wall.

Little Mac looked at all of us, but mostly at Wendy, who gave a crooked smile towards him.

"I--" he started, but he got cut off by the pale female figure placing a hand on his shoulder. "Shit guys, I'm so sorry... I didn't mean for this to happen."

"It's okay, Mac. But maybe next time strangle him on the field." Wendy gave him a sympathetic look while the rest of us just looked at the two.

Is it just me or did I see Little Mac's face turn the slightest bit pink?

"Alright. I will." He returned her kindness with a toothy smile, but then looked back at his mess. His face was scrunching with anger. "But what the hell am I supposed to do about this? I have no idea how to fix anything."

All of us kinda stood there before we saw Little Mac's fate coming right us, along with the troublemakers from before.

Headmaster Dedede.

"Little Mac! You know it is against the rules to fight outside of the field!" The plump duck scolded the boxer, him looking at the hardwood.

The headmaster inspected the wall before turning to the six of us girls. "Are you apart of this, ladies?" He sent us a death glare as we all shook our heads.

After shooing us away from the debris and sending us to dinner, we entered the room, amazed at the fancy setup.

But instead I was just clouded with questions and internal thoughts.

Why did Ness have to yell at us? Just because he's a second gen student doesn't mean he gets to critique us on our fighting skill!

I sat down at the ivory clothed table, candles and plates of what seemed like a turkey feast scattered the table, and each table sat our six people. Dimmed lights and soft piano melodies illuminated the room, as there was semi-loud chatter going about the senior class.

Remembering I was hungry was a good sign. I hadn't eaten since breakfast.

Eagerly, I politely took a small bite of mashed potatoes and gravy. I tasted the savoury substance in my mouth, loving every part of it.

Although the dinner was amazing, It was hard to bring myself to eat. Ness's words still pierced me right in the heart, and I think they didn't want to leave me.

"Especially since your opponent was nothing but a prissy girly-girl."

I felt really bad for getting Little Mac punished, but my self esteem also went down the drain too.

I'm more than just a pretty face.

I'm not a damsel in distress, I'm a graceful warrior in pink stiletto heels.

And that's the person I want to be when I graduate SA.

I sighed as I grabbed the glass bottle of apple champagne across from me and poured some in my wine glass, filling it almost to the brim. The bubbles slowly dissolved as I took a princess-like sip.

Despite my mood at the moment, I always acted like a proper lady.

It was what my mother taught me before she died.

"Keep a smile no matter what. It makes your people less worried and keeps everyone calm."

Thinking of my mothers' words gave me a little more hope that Little Mac, and the rest of us are gonna be just fine.

I looked at all of my friends before Samus spoke up, wine glass in hand.

"Geez. Why did Ness spazz like that, Zel?" Samus asked Zelda, her best friend having turkey in her mouth. She looked blankly, then swallowed.

"I'm not sure. Ever since last year, he's always been taking on Link's mean and ego-centric personality." Zelda twirled her fork in her peas and carrots while you could hear the clanking of Lucina's fork to her plate. "I know why Link changed, but Ness? He was always so sweet and asked me for extra practice, but now he treats first years like total rubbish."

I put a forkful of peas in my mouth when noticing Rosalina's note pad slide to the middle of the table.

"It may seem like so, but has anyone considered he might be intimidated by you two?"

There was a little doodle of luma with a question mark over his head beside the sprawled handwriting.

She made a valid point.

What if he was scared of us? Maybe worried we'd beat him up?

The question definitely got me thinking.

"I highly doubt it." Lucina took a sip of champagne. "No offence, but I think Ness probably knows he's better than us first gens and wants us to feel like losers." The blue eyed smasher wiped her face daintily with a napkin.

Another valid point.

"Well, I do know one thing, we girls are obviously gonna show him up. We're a team. The team of girls." Zelda announced, giving a courtesy smile towards all of us.

She then raised her glass, hoping the rest of us would copy.

"To the first day of class and the start of new friendships!" she smiled as we all tapped crystal glasses, all of us cheering and smiling, even if it was forced.

I knew everyone was pretty upset right now, but it was Zelda's enthusiasm which made us smile. We all just had to add onto it.

"Ooooh!!! Let's take a selfie!" I squealed, taking out my white and pink sparkly SmashPhone and running to the front of the table, flipping the camera view towards us.

"Say Smash!" I grinned.
"SMASH!" Samus hollered and I clicked the button, indicating the picture was taken.

Lucina wanted to see the picture, so I quickly sat down and showed everyone the picture.

My big head was on the very left, pretty much being half of the picture. Then it was Rosalina, holding Luma tightly, Lucina with a bright smile, Wendy with a lopsided grin, and Samus wrapping her arms around Zelda, who also smiled.

I was pretty happy, minus the drama.

And I think problems will fix themselves.

We just had to wait.
