"What is it Morgan?" Gideon asked carefully. They all cared about Spencer, so when they got the alarming email from their colleague, they didn't hesitate to meet him in secret. The only person not there was Hotch, but it was his day off.
"He is lying to me. I asked him if he was okay and he said he was fine, so I asked if it was the nightmares again, and he snapped at me. The only other time he snapped at me was when he told me about the nightmares in the first place, and I told you guys. When he found out he was pissed." He explained.
"That's it?" Elle asked.
"Just look at him. He's sulking. It's like it's someone's death day or something." Morgan argued pointing at the young agent.
All of them looked out the window, studying his body language. The way he moved around the room, read his files. He was slow. Something that usually wasn't a word you would use to describe Spencer Reid. Especially while reading.
"We should confront him as a group." Elle suggested. Everyone just shrugged. What could it hurt.
They all left the office and walked up to Spencer's desk. He didn't even seem to notice them. He seemed to be reading a file on a girl with dark hair and bright green eyes. When he finally noticed them, he slapped the slam file shut and looked up at them, hiding it under some other papers.
"You good? You look tense." Gideon asked, Reid just shrugged. That was something you rarely saw him do, so to see him do so was worrying.
Before he could answer, Hotch burst in. "We have a case." When nobody made a move he raised his voice slightly. "Now, guys." Carrying files.
They all entered the area and were handed files. The images were gruesome, and some could barely look. Coming from these guys, that was saying something. "Two families; one in New York, one in California. Two days apart. The Chase family in California, two kids and both parents. The Blofis family in New York, two parents. The daughter is the one who found the bodies." At this point Spencer looked ready to throw up.
"How do police know they're connected?" Morgan asked, glancing over at Reid.
"The message on both walls. Written in blood." He stated.
"What does it say?" Elle asked.
"We don't know, we have a translator working on it right now. It's written in Greek. Our only lead is the daughter that found the body. Persephone Jackson." At this Spencer promptly got up and walked out of the room without another word to anyone in the room.
