Caught (such a cliche title ik)

( this is what Ace looks like.)

It was hitting about that time of night when Bina goes out for her adventures. The typical 11 o'clock was the normal time. All boys, except Ace, went to their rooms at 8:30. Most fell asleep by 10. Ace was special and got to go to his room at 9. He usually stayed up with staff and cleaned up the house. He was a rough annoying boy, but he was very helpful towards the people he cares about. Staff left at 10, and only one adult stayed behind to make sure the house didn't catch on fire.

Bina slept during the day, this way she could stay out all night. She gathered her fishing hook and line, so she could climb, and her satchel. She got dressed with lightning speed into her loosest clothing, she handmade. Bina made sure everything was in place and walked out.

Before she went anywhere she looked both ways down the human hallway. To get into her " home" she entered and exited through holes that looked like cracks in the wall. She's heard of people making holes or " doors" for their entrances, but she thought those were too obvious, plus with the building being super old there were openings all over the place.

Alright, the cost is clear.

She entered into the hallway and made her way to the haven. The Haven was a room where if the boys were good they could go in there and watch TV, play games or play on electronics. It was basically a place for the boys to hang out and be themselves. Most of the time adults had to be in there with them, but if they were fantastic or there was only two of them they could be in there alone. This place always had small objects left behind or food. The boys always brought snacks in there.

Bina entered under the door and looked around. Just like always there were crumbs left behind. There were chip parts and cake crumbs left from their snack today.

Bina looked around and noticed something glimmering in the distance on top of the couch cushion. She threw her hook on the couch armrest, and it caught on the wooden part of it.

Yes! First, try every time.

She shimmied up the tackle line towards the eye-catching object. After about five minutes she hefts herself on top of the armrest.

This will never get easier.

She then slides down the slide like the angle of the armrest onto the cushion. There in blunt sight was a tiny nail. It was great she caught this in time. If an adult would have seen something like this, they would have confiscated it. Anything potentially sharp the adults always took away. The boys were not even allowed to use butter knives.

She lifted up the flap on her bag and stuck the nail in. Of course, she underestimated the size, and I'm his shape it was, so when she placed it in the pointy end went right through her bag, piercing it.

Are you kidding me right now? Just my luck. Always my luck!

She climbed down with disappointment.

Instead of going back under the door, she went back into the wall. Inside there were nails that were lined along the wall. She was lucky enough to one day climb up and attaches a string to those nails, so she could climb up the wall and have access to the third floor.

She shimmied up one strong, then when she reached the nail, she pulled herself up, so she was balancing on top of it. Bina would then leap to the next hanging string. She would do this repeating action until she reached third.

God, it's a lot easier to head down then up.

When she reached the platform leading to third, she repeated her process. Look out, wait a minute to make sure no one was out, then run. Before she could get to the end of the hallway she heard a loud noise that made Bina jump out of her skin and into the air.

She shrunk her body into the wall, even though everyone knows she would not blend in and peered around. The load noise was coming from Ace's room.

It wasn't music and it wasn't a breaking sound, so what was it?

I swear he knows I exist and do this just to give me a heart attack.

Bina was just too curious.

Ik, I know what you are thinking you are not stupid enough to go to his room, right? Well, I'm a naturally curious person! OK!

I walked towards the door and again I hear the loud banging.

I walk under his door but do not go all the way in. I peer out from under his door and see Ace sitting at his desk. He had a tennis ball and was throwing it at the wall, then catch it when the ball ricocheted off the wall back towards himself.

Bina sat under the door and just watched him just do this repeatedly.

Something must be wrong.

While she wasn't paying attention, the door flung open. Bina rushed away from the door and darted towards the bed. Once she was at a safe distance, she peered up and noticed an adult standing there.

" Ace! What are you doing"

Ace raised his hand and showed the adult the ball without saying a word. His face said isn't it obvious.

" Well stop! Please! I can hear it all the way downstairs and some of your peers are complaining."

He just rolled his eyes but threw the ball at staff. She caught it and walked out closing the door.

Uhhhhh Ace groaned from I'm assuming frustration.

He spun around in his movable chair and grabbed a movable, colorful, cube. I assume he was supposed to match all the colors, but I don't know why. Would the box open if it was solved?

I stared at him and his movements for too long. He got bored with moving the parts around and peered off into the distance. I'm assuming just to stare off into the distance, but with my luck, he looked right in my direction.

You know how a puppy looks at you all confused like and tilts its head? That's how he looked for a second.

I was frozen in my spot because up to this point I was so careful. Why did I have to become so careless?

I took off trying to reach the door, but just like in all g/t classics " I was caught off the ground."

I know it's in every story, but that's what happened.

Bina was caught by the back of her shirt before she could even reach the door. Ace raised her to his face and smiled. He smiled that evil I'm going to do something smile.

" So this is Bob, the ghost."

Umm, what? I looked at him with confusion.

" The boys keep saying there is a ghost in this building because items keep going missing and doors open up on their own, but I don't think you are doing the doors though."

Bina just looked at him with wide eyes without saying anything.

" Really you're not going to say anything?"

Bina shook her head back and forth indicating a No.

" Alright, you forced me to do this."

Ace walked over to his window. On the window sill, there was a tiny fish tank with Beta fish in it.

He placed his hand over the opening, dangling Bina right over the water.

She scrunched up her body as much as she could and whined.

" Well start talking, and I won't drop you. What are you? And why are you here?"

Bina talked the fastest she ever talked before.

" I came in here because I heard a weird noise. I'm a borrower I've always been this size. Names Bina. Please don't hurt me, Ace. Please."

He didn't move her but did catch what she just said.

" How do you know my name?"

She looked up at him with fear. He started to let her shirt slip from his fingers.

" Answer me, please." Ace gave a smirk.

" I've been here for a while. You overhear things while your out walking around." Bina looked down at the water and gulped.

Bina felt her shirt slip from his hands and felt the water rush around her body.

Oh crap. That wasn't planned.

Ace reached in quickly and pulled out the shivering body.

Ace had a smirk on his face trying not to laugh. " I wasn't going to actually do it I'm sorry." sorry came out in a laughing fit.

He placed her on in his desk and started to laugh harder.

" This is not funny!" Bina yelled. Ace was snickering uncontrollably.

" Here I actually didn't mean to." Ace handed her a washcloth. She stared at it then to him for a second with hesitation.

Bina dried herself off, then dragged it across her hair, frizzing it up.

Once she was finished, she realized someone was staring at her. She moved the towel away from her face and noticed Ace was right in front of her.

" What?!"

" Nothing it's just I never thought something like you would around get here." Ace explained. " To be truthful a ghost would be more believable."

He reached for her and she flinched. He saw but still picked her up..... But places her on the floor. " Look staff will be back any minute. If I don't pretend to sleep, ill have another lecture." He walked away and went to the bed bringing his rainbow cube with him.

Bina ran off to the wall, looking back for an instant, but continued to walk home.

Well, this should be an interesting start to my life.
