Dusty conflict: part 2
3rd person POV:
In the room of team SLVR, Simin was performing maintenance on his jacket while having one hour until his battle with a third year.
Lycan: You know, I'm kinda jealous that you're the one fighting her.
Lycan: Man, if only I made fun of dust prices!
Simin: Hey, if you want, go mentioned the allegations on Faunus slavery.
Simin: That's sure to melt the ice.
Ragora: You do know you can just apologize and avoid all this.
Simin: I'd love to, but like her, I have too much pride for that.
Simin: Besides, this is a perfect opportunity to get in good with the third years.
Vella: What do you mean by "get in good with the third years"?
Simin: Haven't you watched any action shows?
Ragora:?
Ragora: Oh gods! Don't tell me you're trying to do the cliche trope of after a battle two people become friends.
Simin: Exactly.
Ragora:(facepalms) This guy's our leader...
Simin: At best, I'm acquainted with one. But if we become friends with one? Especially one on what is considered the strongest team amongst all the years?
Simin: And the girls on team RWBY aren't that hard on the eyes if you catch my drift.
Lycan: I do.
Simin:(raises hand)
(Clap)
The two high five.
Ragora: Ugh...
Vella: Hey... What about us?
Lycan: You two are cute... But there's just something about older girls.
(Clap)
They high-five again as Vella and Ragora give the guys rotten looks.
Simin: Anyway, we're getting off-topic. Basically, I'm trying to make friends.
Ragora: Well, instead of fighting them, you can just ask them to be friends?
Simin: True... But I'd be lying if I didn't want to test myself to see the gap between years.
Ragora:... I'm not convinced. There's something off about all this.
(Knock, knock)
Simin: Finally.
Opening the door, Simin revealed Oscar, the leader of team BROZ to be his invited guess.
(Opening theme)
Lycan: What's he doing here?
Simin: You see, Oscar is ahead of the game.
Oscar: I-I'm not quite sure what he means. Simin, why did you call me over?
Simin: You were hanging out with Team RWBY right?
Oscar: A-A little...
Simin: Did you happen to notice Weiss?
Oscar: In what way....?
Simin: Was she preparing, and if she was, what was she preparing?
Oscar: When I saw her today, she was just reading a magazine.
Simin: Perfect.
After some more conversation, Simin continued with maintenance on his jacket until the time came.
Standing in Beacon's combat training arena, Weiss soon arrived with her team coming to "support" this endeavor.
The rest of team SLVR did the same for Simin.
Weiss: Last chance to apologize.
Simin: Nah, I think this option is much better.
Simin: Three minutes, aura in the red or if feet hit the ground outside the stage, you lose.
Simin: If we're both standing if time runs out, it's a tie.
Weiss: Agreed. You may announce when to start. But I will warn you, I will not hold back.
Simin: Yay.
Simin: We can start.
Weiss: Good.
In a flash, Weiss thrusted her sword forward, striking Simin who took the full force of the hit.
Sliding on his heels, Simin stopped on the edge of the arena.
His aura was already half gone.
Simin:... Okay... Ouch...
Simin:(mind) 5 seconds in, and I'm halfway down. This is going to be a long three minutes.
The dial on his back spun. Landing on the blue orb, Simin made an ice shield which Weiss's blade ground against as he leaped 45° to his right after she thrusted her blade again.
Weiss turned, thrusting a barrage of attacks at Simin, whose shield quickly crumbled.
Creating another one to replace the shield that was about to break, Simin stumbled back at the third-years powerful strikes.
Simin:(mind) As expected...
The mechanism on his back switched to red. With his shield still equipped, Simin poured fire dust into it.
(SHHHHHHHHH)
He made a massive steam cloud to hide himself.
Weiss:?
Seeing a silhouette, Weiss attacked but heard a shattering noise upon impact.
Seeing another silhouette, she struck again, to the same result.
More and more silhouettes appeared, surrounding her almost.
They moved as if gliding through thin air.
Ruby: What's going on? Does your leader have some kind of cloning semblance?
LVR: Uhhhh....(shrugs)
Ruby: You don't know?
Ragora: He hasn't made it apparent yet. We all have our suspicions though.
One of the silhouettes in the cloud of smoke crashed into Weiss, followed by several more.
It did little but annoy her.
Stabbing one of the silhouettes without shattering it, Weiss found that they were little more than thin sheets of ice on ice blocks hooked to a thin ice chain.
Before she could follow the chain, it evaporated into more steam which kept the steam cloud up.
Simin never planned to fight Weiss right out. He may have been the leader of the second strongest first-year team in Beacon, but Weiss had more experience and training.
And with what he wanted, would be a waste of time.
Weiss, using wind dust, blew away the steam, to momentarily see Simin laying on the ground, pulling the chains around.
But only for a moment, ad he mixed the ice with fire dust creating a new cloud of steam.
Weiss: Enough.
Blowing it away again, Weiss found Simin, in a relaxed position on the ground.
She prepared to finish him, but upon hearing an alarm, she stopped.
Simin: Time's up. It's a tie.
Weiss: What!? That was not three minutes!
Simin: Yes it was. And since it was a tie, we both have to abide to the losing conditions.
Simin: I'll get a subscription to the Schnee dust... Whatever this new product thing is.
Weiss: Really?
Simin: Yes. And you and your team have to answer one of my questions.
Weiss: If it's pervy, I'll stab you.
Simin: Get over yourself. What I want to know is Torchwick.
RWBY:!?
Simin: Me and my team came in contact with a dapper-looking crook like Torchwick.
Simin: We'd like to know who he is, but all I have to go off of, is that he's like Torchwick.
Simin: So can you enlighten us?
Weiss: Hmm...
Ruby: Weiss, tell them about the ice cream shop.
Weiss: What? Oh fine...
Weiss: There's an ice cream shop in Vale. "Le'poleon".
Weiss: The owner's name is Neo. If anyone might know about a new Torchwick, it is her.
Simin: Thanks.
Weiss: I'll send you a link to the subscription. Have a good day.
Simin:(mind) She seems to be in a good mood suddenly. Maybe this subscription thing was her idea?
Ruby: Bye! Keep us updated on your Torchwick!
Team RWBY leaves.
Most of team SLVR ignored them, as they grouped together.
Lycan: Way to go, man! Not only should our credit go up, but we got a lead on that fedora guy!
Lycan: If we find him, we find Adam!
Simin: Yeah, and all it cost was a large bruise on the chest and an expensive subscription of dust I don't need.
Ragora: Your jacket runs off dust.
Simin: Yeah, but I have dust for it. Now I'm going to have too much... Ah, I'll just stuff my rocket locker with it.
Vella: You could have just apologized.
Simin: For something she missed understood?
Ragora: You called her business, not worth it.
Simin: I didn't- okay let me explain what I meant.
Simin: When it comes to needing a lot of good quality dust, Schnee is the way to go.
Simin: But I'm talking about warship engine fuel size of amount.
Simin: Or supply an army amount of dust.
Simin: But when you need dust for one person, just take the cheap dust.
Simin: Technology today can refine dust to equal levels, the only difference between them all is who refined them... Which doesn't matter when they all use the same thing.
Simin: Get what I'm saying?
Ragora: How do you know this?
Simin: I-
Simin: I did the test. No matter which brand I used, the results were the same.
Simin: Try and see for yourself.
Ragora: Your money-saving thing better be true, or I'll sue.
Simin: Of course you will...
He rubs her head.
Ragora: Grr...
Simin:(chuckles)
Vella:...
(Ending theme)
