"GIRL!"

I knew who it was that had attacked me from behind without turning around. "Lottie, you're creasing my shirt," I told her, hiding my smile. "I can have you killed for that, you know."

When she let go of me, I turned around and couldn't help my smile. Her dazzling grin was a sight for sore eyes. She really did look a bit tanned but it was hard to tell because of her already dark skin. She had a hairband in her frizzy afro hair.

"Nah, girl," she was saying, "I got you presents so it's very unlikely that you'll have the hitmen after me. And even if you did, that would make you racist."

I rolled my eyes at her. "Always taking advantage of that, huh?"

She giggled and was about to say something, when Tasha's shrill cry made me wince. Again.

"Lottie, you made it!" She said, hugging Lottie. "I thought that you'd be late since you were in Dubai." Then without waiting for her response, she pulled away, and she turned towards me. "You're not gonna believe this," she started but I cut her across, holding my hand out.

"Stop. It's only 8:36 a.m after the weekend and I claim that it's too early in the morning for any gossip."

Her smile widened. "Fine, I'll just let the picture do the talking then."

I frowned and glanced towards Lottie who just shrugged.

"What picture?"

She smirked and tapped a few times on her phone before handing it to me.

"You haven't checked Instagram, have you?" She nodded towards the phone, a triumph smile on her face. "That's Jesse's profile."

I frowned and looked, not sure what she was getting at. It was the girl who had been sitting on Ace's lap and I browsed through some of her photos, still not sure what to look at. She was twerking in some of the pictures and in some, she seemed too drunk to even take a clear shot. Then, my eyes froze on one particular photo where I was present in the picture. I tapped on it and saw that it was taken at Calvin's party two days ago.

In the photo, I was dancing and sort of low-key grinding on a guy behind me. And Jesse had zoomed in on us and had taken the shot, whilst circling me in red. The caption beneath this photo read 'Slut'.

My fingers closed around Tasha's phone harder as I moved on to the comments. There were people who had posted laughing emojis, as they agreed with Jesse.

This. Was. Not. Good.

If these people thought that they could say things like this about me and get away with it, then they'll only keep saying it. They'll keep saying it to the point where they won't just say it behind my back. They'll say it to my face. If they start to say it to my face, I would lose this popular girl status. Tasha and Lottie and every damn girl in the squad would turn their faces away from me and join in with the mocking crowd. I'd be humiliated and teased and ridiculed in front of everyone.

I couldn't let that happen. I had to put a stop to this so that no one would even think about going that far.

With my jaw clenched, I gave Tasha her phone back and marched towards the school building. The two followed behind me and I heard Lottie giggle excitedly. "Some bìtch is about to get it."

I paused, my mind working. I had to do something so degrading and humiliating to Jesse that people would turn to her and laugh at her, instead of laughing with her. A few seconds later, I smirked and turned to face Lottie and Tasha.

"I have an idea," I announced. "But we need to find the rest of the squad so that I can tell them too."

Half an hour later, I was sitting in French class and texting on KIK under the cover of my textbook. The whole squad was online and they were freaking out about the idea that I'd just told them. Everyone was in, obviously. If you weren't, you stuck out like a sore thumb and were out of the clique before you could even blink.

I told them all to meet me after school in the hall at the back of the school building. I had assigned two girls to make sure that they brought Jesse with them. Since they had a lot of classes with her, it would be easier for them.

And with that, I switched off my phone and glanced up to find the teacher scribbling some phrases on the board.

I smiled. This will teach her not to pick a fight with me.

Just as I'd told them, the squad was waiting for me in the hall when I got there. Tasha had paid the janitor to keep the hall open for us after school.

There were a total of six girls in the squad including me. There was Tasha, Lottie, Addy and the twins, Molly and Holly. One of the twins wasn't present, Holly I presumed, and so wasn't Addy. I had assigned these two to bring Jesse here and I supposed that they were on their way here.

Tasha approached me, rubbing her hands together excitedly. "They're on their way," she told me. "I texted Addy and she said that they'll be here in a few minutes."

I gave her a thumbs up and faced the others. "You know what to do, right?"

I received eager nods. These girls thrived on the pain and humiliation of others, no wonder they jumped onto this idea as soon as I'd told them. I shuddered on the inside, knowing just how easily they'll tear me apart if I ever slipped.

Was I any different from them? I was about to do the same thing now so that didn't make me any better. Granted, I was doing it to protect myself and not just for amusement, but still.

I heard voices behind me and folded my arms across my chest, taking a deep breath. They're here.

They entered the hall together, with Addy and Holly on either side of Jesse as she continued to talk animatedly. Boy, she had no idea what she was in for. I almost felt sorry for her. Almost.

She only paused when her eyes found me and she stopped in her tracks. She slowly looked around at the other girls present and frowned. Turning to Addy, she said, "I thought it was just gonna be the three of us, doing cocaine."

Of course. I had been curious to know just what they had said to lure her in and of course, it had been drugs.

Addy snorted out loud. "The more, the merrier, right?"

She looked around again hesitantly and squirmed uncomfortably under my hard gaze. She was starting to realize that she'd been led into a trap.

I moved towards her and she stood her ground. From the corner of my eye, I caught Tasha and Molly make their way behind Jesse, to make sure that she didn't leave. She was being surrounded and her eyes shifted back and forth, the panic now evident in them. Lottie came to stand beside me.

"Do you remember what you posted about me on your Instagram?"

Her eyes widened, as if she never expected us to find that.

"And that was after I'd been very clear about my warning too. You can't just say whatever you want, you know."

"Especially," Lottie cut in, "about any of us. You should know better, girl."

I saw Jesse visibly gulp and had to force myself not to laugh at her pitiful state.

"Girls," I signaled to them and they stepped forward, grabbing Jesse's arms. When she realized that this was probably going to get physical, she started to thrash around. But no matter how hard she tried, she was no match for four girls holding on to her. Addy, being the most athletic one out of us, punched her in the stomach to stop her from moving around so much.

She cried out at the impact and her legs bent forward. Had it not been for the others holding her up, she would've fallen to the ground. I nodded towards Lottie who approached her and started to pull off Jesse's jacket. Jesse looked at her, confused, her face still distorted with pain. She glanced up at me and I shrugged. "After this, everyone will be calling you the slut and you might even be expelled from the school if the staff gets their hands on one of your inappropriate photos online."

Her eyes widened in horror as she realized what we were doing with her and I smirked.

"In fact, I'll make sure that the staff finds your photos easily."

She tried to break free again, but the girls only held on to her tighter. Lottie was unbuttoning her shirt now and her white brà came into view. There were tears in her eyes now.

I felt a stab of guilt when she looked at me again with pleading eyes and for a moment, I wanted to be anyone else but this person who was inflicting such humiliation on her. I disgusted myself.

But then the word Slut rang in my ears and I knew that I had to do what had to be done, no matter how much it pained me to do.

I took the twins' camera and brought it up to my face. It'll be over soon, I kept repeating in my head. It'll be over soon. I have to do this. It's either her or me and I'd rather that it's not me.

Lottie threw away her shirt and started working on the zipper of Jesse's skirt.

She had started pleading out loud now. "No, please. Please, don't... please..."

She had given up on struggling now and was just shaking her head, as tears streamed down her face.

My heart clenched as she continued to sob and my fingers shook as I held the camera. This was too far. Wasn't it?

My finger hovered above the button that I should've pressed seconds ago. The camera shook even more now and I was afraid that I was going to drop it.  I couldn't do it.

I can't do this.

Just then, the camera was whipped out of my hands and I froze. I heard something shattering on the ground next to me and I jumped away, finally blinking. I found the broken remains of the camera on the ground and my eyes widened. Someone had taken the camera from me and had thrown it at the floor, destroying it.

"Fūck, Wilson."

I turned around to find stormy grey eyes looking down at me, hard.

Ace.
