3rd POV

Somewhere at in the cavern, we see three slingers are carrying a cargo but they were pin down and struggling to fight back again Dr. Blakk two followers that are twins and known as Lock and Load.

Their mecha beast are down and continue to fight back but it wasn't enough. In their desperation, they had no choice but to send a flare slug for help if there's anyone near.

Lock: (Laugh.) Fireworks?

Load: (Laugh.) Fireworks that goes boom!

Out of nowhere they hear another blaster and see a frostcrawler almost hit them.

Lock: Hey, where that come from?

Soon they see the Shane gang except for YN from a distance who comes as a back up.

Load: Its the Shane gang!

Eli: Good you remember us. So I'm pretty sure you can guess what'll happen next.

They fire back at the twins to push them back, but the twins counter strike by using Diggrix and hop rock ghouls to ambush them from underneath as it knocks them down from their mechas.

Lock: You see that load? Shane gang is no match for what we got.

Load: (Laugh.) You got that right. They blow up good!

Lock: Wait, where's the outlaw?

Soon another blaster was heard from a distance as a Tazzerling slug hits one of them before a grenuke slug landed between them and blows up. This gave enough time for the Shane gang to retaliate and push them back.

Eli: They're on their heels, now's your chance to push them over!

Everyone overwhelmed the twins by pushing them back.

Lock: I suggest an honorable retreat!

Load: No, run away!

Lock blasted a hoprock ghoul to the ground to cause a smoke for them to retreat before Eli speaks up in his communication.

Eli: Coast is clear. Thanks for the assist, YN.

YN: [You're welcome. Coming down to you guys.]

We see YN is at top of the hill sniping from a distance with his long shot blaster. He got on his mecha beast and heads down with the others. Once he arrived, he notice his friends are taking the cargo.

YN: Whoa, what's in the cargo and where we taking it?

Trixie: Fandango slugs.

YN: Fandango slugs? I get that they have tons of energy, but aren't they well...useless in combat?

Eli: We'll explain it on the way. Right now, we're heading to the bulls-eye cavern.

YN nods and follow them to the next cavern.

YN POV

While we're making our way to the Bulls-eye cavern, Trixie filled me in on what we're doing. Turns out something's bad going on over there and they've been trying to deliver fandango slugs to the cavern, but the twins are blocking their way by cutting off all the roads leading to the Bulls-eye. No doubt they won't stop until they get their hands on these slugs.

   I can tell that these fandango slugs have huge amount of energy by the look of their auras. Can't imagine what would happen if they become ghouled. Hope it never comes to that.

Eli: Okay, break it down for me again. The caverns run on slug energy.

Trixie: (Confused.) Didn't you learn this from school like the rest of us?

Eli: Must have been home sick that day.

YN: Either that or maybe you weren't paying attention in classes.

Trixie: Probably. Well the energy that makes all life possible here is strongest in the slugs where ever they are, things live. Without them.

Eli: Got it, dead zone.

YN: When you think about it, land needs life and life needs land. Its the nature that created both.

Eli: I just don't get why Blakk would want to let that happen to an entire cavern.

YN: Knowing Blakk, he just wants to ghoul everything. No telling if he's ghouling the cavern or at least how.

Suddenly a large scalectite fell and blocked our path which reveal it was the twins doing. They shoot more ghouls to shake the cavern as the rocks are falling.

Eli: They're trying to block us in! Pronto, lead back out!

Soon they block our way back.

Pronto: I believe they accomplished their diabolical goal. I curse their success!

YN: Heavy, clear a path!

I blast Heavy to knock the rocks away to clear the path for us.

Eli: this way!

We follow eli and get out of the cavern as fast as we can before the cavern collapses.

3rd POV

The cavern collapses but the Shane gang manage to get to safety just in time as Flash lights up the cave for them. However, their path to Bulls-eye cavern was now cut off thanks to the twins.

YN: Everybody all right?

Kord: Well that was fun, and when I say fun I mean oh my head.

Eli: We're alive, that's good right?

YN: Yeah, but now we got no way to get to Bullseye cavern.

Eli: Pronto, where are we?

Pronto: Hm, let me see.

Pronto picks up his map before snatching Flash to get a better look at the map.

Pronto: We are completely cut off from our destination. Uh, would you like me to be more specific?

Trixie: Is there another path?

Pronto: Nope.

Kord: Uh secret passage?

Pronto: Nope.

YN: Any new route?

Pronto: Nope.

Eli: Anything?

Pronto: Well...no

Eli: Ah! I heard a well. What is it Pronto?

Pronto: Well uh, maybe there is a route we could take. But we'd be fools to do so.

Eli: Usually when you say things like that, it ends up being fun.

Pronto: Oh no no no. Not this time, the only other way to bulleye is a path fraught with peril. Its dark, long, twisting, and cuts right through the territory of....The Shadow Clans.

Eli just smiles to know its a good idea.

Eli: Guys?

The rest smirk while Pronto was surprised of their agreement.

Pronto: What? No no no!- you're not actually considering?

YN: We no other choice. All in favor to take that path?

Everyone raise their hand including Frost and Burpy.

Pronto: (Gasp.) You were....

Time skip

The Shane gang make their way to the dark cavern.

Kord: The Dark Periphery, home of the shadow clans.

Trixie: This is the opportunity of a lifetime. I mean no one has ever managed to capture the shadow clan on film. At least no one manage to live.

YN: Well there's always the first.

Eli: You're unusually quiet Pronto.

Pronto: Pronto is not quiet. Pronto is speechless. The most evil things in all of Slugterra and we are strolling into their backyard.

YN: Let's just focus on our surrounding. No telling if they know we're here or not.

Eli: I've seen them before remember? They're scary sure but they can't be that bad. Maybe they're just misunderstood.

YN became quiet as he shoves Eli before going ahead.

Eli: Uh, did I say something wrong?

Trixie: (Whispers.) You didn't know what happens to his dad?

Eli: What happened to him?

Trixie: There were rumors that the Shadow Clan were the reason why DN LN disappeared in Slugterra. Ever since that day, he's been taking it serious when it comes to the shadow clan.

Eli: Oh. (To YN.) Hey, I didn't mean-

YN: Its fine, how could you know? Let's just focus on the task ahead.

Eli: Right. If we're lucky enough, they probably won't even know we're here.

They continue to make their way through the Shadow Clans territory until Pronto sniff something from the air.

Pronto: (Whisper.) Ah, I hear something....everyone, against the rock!

Everyone except for Eli did what he said.

Eli: Is this really necessary?

They nod before see where Trixie is pointing and notice one of the shadow clan is patrolling around.

Eli: Okay, yes it is.

YN pulls out his long shot blaster to get a better look with his scope without being spotted.

Pronto: (Whispers.) Nobody move, the shadow clan have excellent vision a keen sense of smell and they pensioned for scaring molenoids to their early deaths.

Soon YN notice they left.

YN: I don't think they've spotted us, we're clear for now.

Pronto: We were lucky, let's count our blessing and turn back.

Eli: We can't turn back, bullseye needs those slugs.

Pronto: Urgh fine. The sooner we're there, the sooner we're out of this wretched place.

They continue onward through the Shadow Clans territory.

Eli: My dad use to tell me about the shadow clan. How they can talk to slugs and how they've been here forever.

YN: Guess he miss the part on how dangerous they are when you interact with them.

Trixie looks around until she spotted them and they're following the Shane gang in stealth.

Trixie: Uh guys, I don't want to freak you out, but there's something moving behind us.

Eli: I thought we lost them.

YN: We gotta lose them before it gets ugly.

Pronto: (Smiles.) I know several molenoids tracking tricks should confused them.

YN: As long as we can lose them on our tails. Let's go with it.

Pronto nods as he leads them to a better route to avoid the shadows.

Pronto: Hm, dry rock, no tracks to follow. And (checks the wind.) Ah, we on wind. So no sense for them to pick up. Follow my lead, how fortunate you are to be in the company of the best tracker in Slugterra.

YN, who's begin the group, watch their back to ensure the shadows aren't following them until his eyes the shadow clan.

YN: Guys, we're about to have company.

Eli: We gotta step on it!

Pronto: (Surprise.) What!? Preposterous! Uh okay, time for another incredible molenoids skill...escape!

They made a run for it and the shadow begins to chase after them.

Kord: They're on our six!

YN: I got this!

YN blast a slug to blind them once again but this time it was weaker. The shadow then sees the Shane gang and chase after them. However, little did they know it was an illusion to them as the real ones are hidden.

Pronto: There, you see? YNs thugglet slug combined with my evasive tactics were a grand success. But praise for pronto can wait until we get to bullseye. If I never see the shadow clan again, it will be too soon.

Trixie: Uh guys.

They all then look to where Trixie is seeing and all the shadows are gathered down in the hills.

Eli: There's more of them, we should get a closer look.

Eli was about to go but YN stops him.

YN: Eli, this is serious. This isn't gonna be like they have a birthday party for us and waiting for us to show up.

Eli: We're just gonna take a better look.

YN: ... Fine. But after that, no more stops, we leave directly.

Eli: Okay.

They make their way down to see more are coming to gather around with one who's standing on the stone and wearing different which means that is the leader.

Kord: (Whisper.) Okay, you got your closer look. We better scram.

Eli: Look, the path ahead is too exposed. If we move now, everyone down there is gonna see us. We need some kind of distraction.

They then see the leader is holding random slug in each hand as the rest of the shadow are doing the same.

Kord: I don't like the looks of this.

Eli: I'm right there with you.

YN: (Scoff.) Wow, so much for a better look.

Just then the shadows begins to screech  as their slugs begins to glow. YN notice their arua begins to get brighter than before.

YN: What are they doing?

Eli: (Whispers.) They're distracted, this is our chance!

They wasted no time but to go around them but suddenly the fandango slugs begins to glow brighter as Pronto notice them.

Pronto: Hey, stop you miserable creatures! You'll give us away!

Eli: Guys, what's gotten into you!?

The leader sees them and screeches as he point at them.

Whoops wrong one!

There we go, now then. The leader signals his followers to go after them.

YN: RUN!

They run for it and the shadows runs after them while the cargo is still glowing because of the fandango slugs.

YN: They're on to us because of the fandango slugs!

Trixie: Its like a giant sign pointing right as us!

Pronto: And I am the all you can eat buffet!

Just then the shadow begins to throw hoprock slugs at them with their tails.

YN: We gotta lose them fast before they catch us!

Eli: Pronto, you and Trixie keep going with those slugs. The rest of us will buy some time!

The three of them tries to slow them down but the shadow just teleported through every slugs they shoot.

YN: Well that's just cheating! See if you can go through this!

As they got in through the tunnel, YN quickly shoots chill to block the entrance with ice wall which the shadow were now blocked.

Eli: Nice going!

YN: Save it for later, we're not out of this yet. As soon as we get out of this tunnel then the sooner-

Once they were out of the tunnel, the shadow ambushed them from the entrance.

YN: -They block our way.

Pronto: They will never take me alive! If this is to be my fate. (Pick up his blaster.) Pronto will go out in a blaze of...!

Soon he notice everyone lower their blasters to show them that they surrendered.

Pronto: Surrender!?

Eli: Look on a bright side, no one's ever been this close to the shadow clan.

YN: Either way, stay vigilant.

The shadow then escort them to their leader ensuring they don't try to resiste while the Shane gang are cooperates until they arrive to their leader.

Eli: We're sorry we had through your territory, but we have a good reason.

Trixie: If we don't get these slugsto bullseye cavern, then the cavern will go dark. It'll die.

The leader then went and open the back of the cargo to see the fandango slugs.

YN: Hey! I don't know if you understand us, but Bullseye needs those slugs more than you and your pals need them. We wouldn't be here in the first place if the other paths were cut off.

The leader then growls and roars at his face. YN was about to pick up his blaster until they see something bright above and saw it was Burpy angrily trying to tell the leader something important. This confused the Shane gang until the leader point them to leave as the rest of the shadow clear the path.

Kord: I think they're letting us go.

Pronto: Ha! Lucky for them.

Eli: Thank you.

They let the gang go as Burpy joins.

Eli: (Curious.) Burpy, what did you say to them?

Burpy: Chirp.

YN: Yeah, I didn't catch that.

Eli: Well, whatever it was. Good job.

Without anymore distraction, they head to bullseye cavern without any shadows to worry.

YN: Hmm...

Eli: Something bugging you?

YN: For starters, they didn't attacked us the moment they caught us.

Eli: See? They're not so bad.

YN: Yeah, but what's their endgame? Its not like they'd just let us go that easily. 

Pronto: Either way, here we are.

They finally arrived at the bullseye cavern. But now everything felt dark. As if life is being drained by something.

Pronto: Okay, bullseye cavern, may now begin singing my praises.

YN: If I had a hundred flopper slug every time I hear it....

Kord: Make that two hundred for me.

Eli: Now what?

Trixie: Release the fandangos, they'll find somewhere to roost and then this will all be over.

YN and Kord grab the slug cargo and release the fandango slugs.

Kord: There you go fellas, don't be shy.

They all walk towards the cavern to make home.

But suddenly they were all scared and ran away.

Eli: That's not supposed to happen is it?

Trixie: They definitely don't like something in here.

Kord: Maybe we're too late.

YN: Whatever it is, its still here.

Soon their own slugs begin to run away but Eli stops his.

YN: Frost, what's wrong?

Eli: Keep your slug close! Whatever this is, its affecting them too!

Suddenly there was an explosion near and it reveal to be the twins to made their own path to the cavern.

Lock: Look at that, a new path to bullseye cavern.

Load: (Laughs.) We blowed it up good!

Load: Shane gang!? They made it!?

Lock: (Laugh.) It don't matter, they're too late! The caverns dead and their slugs are bugging out!

Eli: We'll be with you guys in a second. (To his gang.) We can still save this cavern! Pronto, I need you to round up the fandango slugs.

Pronto: It will be my pleasure.

Eli: Trixie and Kord, maybe you guys can figure out what's making them leave.

Kord: you can count on us.

Trixie: Let's go!

Eli: YN?

YN: (Smirk.) Say no more.

Eli: Now, I think its time to settle this.

Lock: You two want to duel us?

YN: Got a problem?

Eli: Unless you want to hug it out instead.

Lock: (Laughs.) You can't win!

Load: (Laughs.) And not only that, you're gonna lose!

YN: Uh, we already know that part. You're just saying the part where we already know.

Load: Uh, well.

Lock: Just get use to it. Now enough talk!

The twins begin blasting ghouls at Eli and YN as they counter attack even though some of their slugs wanted to leave the cavern.

Eli: We just need to hold them off to buy time for the others.

YN: (Smirk.) Then let's make it count for the bullseye! Let's do this Ace!

The twins shoots multiple ghouls at them but this time YN aims and blast speedstinger named Ace. Once Ace transformed, it hits each ghoul to deflect them all like a bouncy ball. This gave Eli the opportunity to blast Jewels to shock the twins. But soon they're running low on slugs as they duck in cover.

Eli: I'm almost out of slugs!

YN: Same here. At this rate, our slugs will be gone because of the cavern while their ghouls aren't. As long as this cavern scares the slugs.

Eli: No slugs at all.

Suddenly they were knock back by a hoprock ghouls and they were down.

Lock: (Laugh.) Admit it kids, you lost.

Load: (Laugh.) Yeah, and we won!

YN: (Smirk.) Did you?

Lock: Heh, what's with the smiling?

???: I'll give you a hint!

The twins look back and see Trixie blast a frightgeist slug and scared them away from the cavern.

Eli: Tell Dr Blakk nice try!

YN: (Smirk.) Frightgeist slug, nice going.

Trixie: (Smiles.) Thanks, our trip to Deadweed has really paid off.

YN: Speaking of, did you guys find something suspicious?

Kord: Yeah, you're gonna want to see this.

They show them what's underneath the bullseye and it was dark water that's scaring the slugs away as well as darkening the cavern.

Eli: Dark water?

Trixie: Yup, this is what was driving the slugs away. Blakk thought he could ghouled this entire cavern.

Eli: (Smirk.) And I've got just a cure.

Eli pulls out doc and place him in his blaster.

Kord: That's a lot of dark water, you sure doc can neutralize it all?

Eli: What do you think doc, up for a swim?

Doc nods.

YN: Hold on, we can use the fandango slugs to boost his strength during his process. Fandango slugs have a lot of energy right? Then let's use them to help doc.

Eli: Good idea.

Just then, Frost, Burpy, and Pronto came back with all of the fandango slugs. Eli blast doc to the dark water while they place the tubes on the ground for the fandango slugs before picking them back and fire them near the dark water. Soon doc has enough energy to neutralize the dark water and the cavern is now restored back to its original.

YN: We did it!

Everything in the cavern was now back to normal as the Shane gang finally rest.

Kord: What I don't get, why of all caverns did Blakk wanted to empty out this place.

Trixie: Because this is the exact center of Slugterra. Get it? Bullseye.

Eli: This was nothing but a land grab and Blakk was staking his claim with dark water.

YN: Looks like that guy relies on dark water more than anything in Slugterra.

Kord: Looks like we figured everything out.

Eli: Not everything, I can't stop thinking about why the shadow let us go. Burpy, sure wish you could tell us what you know about him.

YN: If only your dad left a message about them with more specific. I'm just glad we got out of there alive.

Trixie: (Excited.) I did it! I'm the first person to ever capture the shadow clan on film!

Trixie showed them the video from her camera, but everything looks to be a bit dark and static to see it.

YN: Well, its a start.

Eli: Congratulations?

Trixie: I know, when this footage gets out, its gonna be massive!

Pronto: Speaking of, Pronto decides to head back and eat. I am hungry from all that mission.

Kord: Yeah, I could go for a bite.

YN: Oh man, I better get back home. Moms making (F/F favorite/fruit) pie. No way I'm gonna miss this part.

Eli: Okay then we'll meet back at the Shane base.

YN: I'll save some pie for you guys too.

Kord: (Smiles.) Thanks.

Trixie: We'll see you later then.

YN nods before getting on his mecha beast and heads back home.

YN POV

Its been a real rough day thanks to those twins. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't gone to the shadow clan territory in the first place. Of course this all began with Blakk dark water in the bullseye, but either way, I'm just glad it was over. Just then u arrived back home to visit for some pie as I hop off my mecha and enter.

YN: I'm back mom.

MN: YN!

My mom then hugs me as I hug her back.

MN: You have no idea how much I was so worried. Word is that you went against Blakk and his followers.

YN: Don't worry mom, I'm not alone on this one thanks to Shane gang.

MN: (Chuckles.) Your dad always said that two of the family will join together to protect our home.

YN: Yeah, I'm just glad we got lucky from our last mission.

MN: (Curious.) What happened?

YN: We had to take the fandango slugs to the bullseye cavern. But every path was cut off and we had no choice but to go through the Shadow Clans territory.

MN: What!?

YN: But for some reason they just let us go.

MN: I see...

YN: Is everything all right mom?

MN: Yes, the thing is, your father told me a lot about them. Wait here.

My mom left the kitchen as I grab and hand the slug food for my slugs which they all start eating before my mom came back with the envelope.

MN: Before your dad left, he wanted me to give this to you. I never thought it was important because the shadows were dangerous. But I think its time to hand this to you.

YN: What is it?

MN: Something about the shadow clan.

I open the envelope and pull out two papers, one of them was very old while the other is new. I decided to read the first one.

DN: YN, if you're reading this, then this means you've interacted with the shadow clan and got out of there alive. I know they are dangerous and its difficult to understand what they're saying. However, the older paper your holding has some kind of script leads back in forgotten Slugterra history. I know it may look hard to understand it but what this is, its a guide page that will help you communicate with shadow clan.
