YN POV

This week has been a crazy day, when we were hunting a hoverbug slug, our mecha were acting weird and almost cost our lives. Luckily we went to the western mech forge where Kord friends work at and it turns out it was being taken over by Dr Blakk crew. Turns out they've been ghouling the energy sources of the mecha beasts, which explain why the mechas went out of control.

   I'm just glad that we manage to stop it thanks to Doc before it could spread across Slugterra. But right now I'm more concern about the ghoul resources, we need to find out where he gets it and cut it off before he has enough to ghoul all of the slugs in Slugterra. Right now we're just heading to Deadweed cavern as it gets foggy.

Trixie: There it is. Deadweed cavern. (To YN.) I dare you to go near it.

YN: Alright, but if there's a slug in there then I'm not sharing it with you. Its too creepy over there the last time I was in there.

Eli: You were in there?

YN: Long story short, there are frightgeist slug in there. It was scary when I was looking for one. Kept running until a miner found me.

Eli: Sure its a creepy looking but what's the big deal?

Trixie: We're passing by, hold your breath or the evil spirits will get in your nose!

Three of us except for Eli and Pronto hold our breath.

Pronto: Bah, a foolish superstition. Pronto hold his breath for nothing.

Pronto: (Sweatdrop.) Uh well, maybe to be safe. (Hold his breath.)

Eli: (Chuckles.) You guys cracked me up. I'm going in for a closer look.

We all try to protest but he ignores us until we breath again.

Pronto: Eli, don't be a fool.

Eli: Isn't Deadweed where Frightgeist slugs come? (Smiles.) Let's go see if we can get one! Come on guys, where's your sense of adventure?

YN: Buddy we're talking about Deadweed cavern! One of the scariest caverns in Slugterra.

Pronto: This is a place of unspeakable danger!

Kord: Only thing you'll find in there is oooooooooooohhhh...

Eli: (Confused.) Sick owls?

Pronto: (Roll his eyes.) Oh for the love of... Eli, we're talking about ghosts.

Eli: Well, I'm not afraid of ghost.

YN: Because you never seen one.

Eli: Have you?

YN: Hope not and I'd like to keep it that way.

Eli: Come on, they don't exist. (Open the gate.) We'll be in and out before you know it.

Everyone: ....

Eli: Fine, you wait here, I'll be back for a minute.

Eli enters while the rest of us stayed outside until we hear him screaming.

Everyone: Eli!

YN: God I knew this was a bad idea!

We ran in to help. But when we got in, he was gone.

Trixie: Eli?

Kord: I don't like this. Eli, where are you buddy?

YN: Stay on your guard, anything could happen here.

Just then we notice something was behind us and then-

Eli: Boo!

(Imagine YN there.)

Everyone: AAAAH!

Out of instinct, I quickly draw my blaster and blast Allen as it almost hit Eli who quickly dodges that.

Eli: Whoa! You almost hit me!

YN: My only regret is that I missed.

Eli: (Chuckles.) Still, you guys should've seen the look on your faces.

Eli laughs while the rest of us became upset.

(Imagine YN is upset.)

It was then cut short as the gate shut itself as Burpy fire extinguished by the wind. Soon there was noises echoing through the cavern as we all begin to get nervous. Burpy then lights up while Flash jumps on my shoulder and lights up.

YN: (Sarcasm.) Not so fun now, huh?

Eli: Very funny, now who's the joker?

Trixie: That wasn't us.

YN: I say we leave, right now.

Everyone agrees as we try to open the gate, unfortunately it was lock from the outside.

Kord: Its stuck, we're trapped.

Suddenly we heard a scream echoing through the cavern.

Eli: Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.

YN: You think?

3rd POV

Giving no other choice, the Shane gang had to go deeper to the cavern.

Pronto: (Nervous.) It is a mistake I tell you, we should have waited by the door.

Trixie: It could be half past forever by the time someone rescues us. We'll see if we can find another way out.

YN: If there is another way out.

Trixie: Well, we can film some ghost if we see one.

Eli: I'd settle for some people, what happened to them all?

Pronto begins to explain that Deadweed use to be a gold mine but it was abandoned years ago. Many venture and return in fear while the rest were gone.

Eli: This is great, we can find a new slug and solve a mystery.

YN: You seem way too relax for a haunted mine.

Trixie: Either way, its gonna make some great footage.

Pronto: (Nervous.) Of our gruesome demise. Just make me look heroic when the hungry ghost come to eat my molenoid brains.

Eli: (Confused.) Did you said brain"s"?

Pronto: Yes, of course. We molenoids have two brains, which makes me twice as scared and twice as tasty.

YN: I thought the living dead eat brains.

Trixie: Living dead?

YN: Yeah, my mom use to told me about some scary stories when I was a kid. Had to keep my slugs close during the night.

Just then the cavern begins to get foggy.

Pronto: Ah, the fog is too thick. I can't see anything, we should turn back while we still have our brains.

Eli: Nobody wants to eat your brains Pronto.

Pronto: Hey, what's wrong with my brains?

YN: (Shook his head.) Find anything for your film, Trixie?

Trixie: Nope, just fog, rocks and-

Just then something spooked as something moved in a blink, but it then vanished.

Trixie: Whoa. Did you see that?

YN: Hmm? I didn't see anything. This fog is blocking our view.

Kord: I got something that'll cut through this fog.

Kord pick a device and attached it on his blaster.

Kord: (Smirk.) Sonar scope.

YN: Lead the way Kord.

Kord nods as the rest follows him.

Kord: All clear. (Smirk.) Oh yeah, this baby works like a charm-

Suddenly bats came out of nowhere and roam around the area which caught then by surprise until they were gone.

Eli: Are you sure that thing is working?

Kord: Uh, sorry I uh put it on backwards.

Pronto: That's it, I'm leading us to an exit!

Pronto was about to leave until Eli stops him.

Eli: Come on, this is fun. Its like Halloween.

Trixie: What's a Halloween?

Eli: Its uh an old chain tradition, once a year we dress up a scary costume, kinda like what YN's wearing.

YN: Hey, I'm not that scary!

Eli: And we get candy from the neighbors.

Trixie: Sounds like extortion.

YN: Well, the candy part doesn't sound so bad now that I think about it.

They continue to walk deeper in to the mines.

Trixie: Wow Pronto, I've never seen you so scared.

Pronto: Pronto is not scared, Pronto is uh-

???: Tuurrnnn baaaaack.....

Pronto: (Nervous.) Terrified!

Kord: Uh, I could be wrong, but that sounded like a voice.

Eli: Or a sick owl.

Pronto: It was saying, turn back.

Eli: Its the wind.

YN: (Stern.) Yeah, has there ever been a wind that said turn back?

Eli: Last time I checked, the wind doesn't say turn back.

Kord: Yeah I guess you're right.

Kord then picks up a mining helmet.

Kord: (Smirk.) Hey Pronto look, another eating ghost.

Pronto: (Sarcasm.) Haha, very funny Mr. Cave troll man.

Kord: (Mimicking ghost sound.) Turn baaaack.

YN: Kord, that's not funny. You gotta do this.

YN puts on his mask and grabs some chain on the ground to wrap it around his arms before mimicking a ghost sound.

YN: Tuurn baaaaaack.

Kord: (Laughs.) Good one!

They both laugh until they saw something behind them. As they slowly turn around, they saw a ghost.

Everyone: Aaaaah!

YN:

Trixie: Gh-ghosts!?

Pronto: I told you so!

Eli: I don't think they wanna be friends. Let them have it guys!

They start shooting slug but apparently they just went through the ghosts.

Trixie: We can't hit them!

YN: Well duh, they're ghost!

Eli: This way!

Eli leads them to the small mining cart and they all hop on while Kord pushes it before hoping on.

YN: Still thinking they don't exist?

Eli: Okay, you were right. I had to see it to believe it with my own eyes. Well, at least we lost them.

Suddenly they begin to slide back and end up in a open area as the ghost surrounded them.

Pronto: Oh no.

As they got closer, YN recognize one of them and notice each of the ghosts had red auras. He was confused since he thought only ghoul slugs had them until he realized they got closer but then they all heard the train noise as they just left.

YN: What the...?

Pronto: Haha! That's right, run you ghosts, fear me!

Trixie: Why did they leave?

Pronto: Hide, they're coming back!

Eli: No, listen. This is something else.

YN: Sounds like a train.

Pronto: Ghost train!

YN: I don't think so. Let's check it out.

They head through the tunnel until they arrive at a train tracks as the train arrived just in time.

Kord: (Confused.) The slugterranian express, what's it doing way down here?

Trixie: Deadweed never had a stop. This is new, like really new.

Soon they see someone coming out of the train as they were familiar to one of them.

Eli: Is that who I think it is?

Pronto: Dr. Blakk most feared enforcer.

Pronto: El Diablos Nacho.

YN: Pffft- Nacho fries.

Eli: What is going on down here?

Trixie then uses her camera to take a better look and notice the same ghosts appear.

Trixie: They're back.

The ghosts scared off most of Blakk henchmen except for Nacho.

Nacho: My answer is still no.

Nacho then loads a ghoul that is now frightgeist slug that is now a ghoul. He blasted it towards the ghost and it seems to hit them and scared them all off as they ran away.

Eli: (Confused.) Is that a frightgeist slug?

Trixie: It use to be. That's ones been ghouled! Now its a nightgeist.

YN: A slug that gives you nightmares until the effect wears off.

Eli: How did his slug hit when ours went right through?

Trixie: Well, maybe the slugs were ghouled.

YN: I don't think so, they used random ghoul against the ghosts and just went through. Maybe only nightgeist ghoul has more effects of them.

Eli: Did you hear the ghost? They told him to turn back too. Turn back from what?

YN: Somethings not right. We're missing something.

Kord: Like what?

YN: Those miners, I've recognize one of them. He was one of the leader of the mining group and his crew can handle anything. Whatever happened here, it must be something much more dangerous.

Just then the gate open for the train to leave.

Eli: I need to know what these guys are up to. (Jumps down.)

Kord: Right with you bro. (Jumps down.)

YN: Count me in. (Jumps down.)

Pronto: It would be safer to stay here or uh run as fast as we can in the opposite direction uh that way.

Trixie shook her head and jumps down to join the rest.

Pronto: Okay why does no one listen to Pronto!?

Pronto join as the gate shut in front of them.

Eli: Too late, we're gonna have to get into that control room.

Kord: (Smirk.) Leave that to me.

Blakk henchmen is in the control room until he heard the door knock.

???: Trick or treat.

Henchmen: Huh, what's the password?

???2: Uh....ouch?

As the henchmen got close, Kord slams the door open to knock the guard out.

Kord: Yep, that worked.

Eli: Look for anything unusual and see if you can find the switch to open that tunnel.

Trixie: Hey, YN. You said you've recognized one of the miners?

YN: Yeah why?

Trixie: Take a look.

Trixie shows him some of the pictures of the mining crew and YN recognize one. They then begin to out the pieces together about the problem. The minors never left and warn everyone to turn back before ending up as they did.

   But now new questions are in front of them. What is it that Blakk is taking from this mining place until Pronto accidentally push the switch where the door opened and reveals another room with safety suit and a window to the other side. They all look at the window and see a mining and gathering some kind of red liquid.

Trixie: (Confused.) What is that stuff?

Eli: You don't bust out the safety suits for anything. They're handling something dangerous here.

YN: I got a bad feeling about this.

Kord: Dark Water...

Eli: (Curious.) You know what that is?

Kord explains that the old trolls told the stories about Karooms a newl aka dark water. Their home cavern was deep as the mining and there were crack that leaks dark water. And strange things would happen when contact.

   They then saw that they're using the dark water to transform a slug into a ghoul. Now knowing the source of the ghoul slugs transformation. Now they know what need to be done, take out the well in order to cut of their resources.

   They all agree including Pronto after convincing him. Pronto then has an idea that they can sneak in by using safety suit to blend in without getting caught so soon. This plan work as everyone is too busy including nacho fries- I mean Nacho as they get closer to the well.

Trixie: (To Kord.) You said that strange thing would happen around this stuff. Like what kinds of things?

Kord: It was sort of like uh...the life sucked right out if you.

Eli: No wonder they have protective suits. The minors aren't ghost, they just got exposed to the dark water.

YN: We'll have to find a way to turn them back to normal later. Right now, we should focus on this problem.

Eli: Agree, how do we shut that off?

Trixie: I say we just blow it off.

YN: Too risky, dark water would flood the entire cavern.

Kord: We'll just gonna have to get up to the pump and shut it down manually.

They all nod in agreement. First Eli and Pronto lured the guards away by tricking them of a leak nearby which became success. Soon they all head to the control room.

Eli: Alright, then shut her down.

Kord: I don't know man, easier said than done. Its not like there's an on and off switch.

YN: (Sigh.) Why can't there be that instead of bunch of buttons or at least a manual near.

Kord: Think troll, think!

Pronto: Think faster! They're going to realize that we're up to something eventually.

Just then a ghoul was blasted and it revealed to be Nacho shooting ghouls at them as he shout the men.

Nacho: Quit standing around, we've got intruders!

All of them got their blaster and start firing at the Shane gang while they fire back.

Eli: YN and I will hold them off, you guys figure out how to shut this thing down for good.

YN: Man, I can breath in this thing.

YN takes off the helmet part of the safety suit for fresh air before he continues firing slugs at them until he notice Nacho has the nightgeist ready to fire at Eli.

YN: Eli!

YN immediately pushes Eli but then got hit by the ghoul.

Kord: YN just got hit by a nightgeist!

Eli: YN!

YN: I'm fine, just a hit- AAAAH!

YN saw nightmares as he crawl back away from Eli. Frost tries to calm him down as well as Eli.

Eli: YN, take it easy. Its me-

YN: GET AWAY FROM ME! GET AWAY!!

YN get up and runs away.

Trixie: Go help YN, we'll buy you time.

Eli nods and picks up frost before going after him.

Pronto: Aha! This will flush them out! 

Pronto then blast a rammstone slug and it break the chains for the pipes to fall behind the enemies which they run off.

Pronto: That's right, you better run back to your mother and tell her that Pronto sent you!

YN POV

I hid in fear from the nightmares ever since I got hit by the slug. It felt like hours rather than minutes. I cover my ear and close my eyes to make the nightmares stop until I heard a voice I've never heard ever since.

???: Get up son...

I open my eyes and they became widen to see my dad crouch down to my level.

YN: D-dad?

DN: I know you better than anyone and I'm sure your mom knows you better too. You still got some fight in you son. Blakk is still out there, so you can't give up now.

YN: N-no this is a trick, you're not real!

DN: You don't have to believe I'm real or not, but your friends are real and now they'll need your help. Don't forget, LN don't know what quit means. I got faith in you as your mom got faith in me, so show me what your made of.

He stand up and walk towards the fog.

YN: Wait, where did you go dad?

He stops and didn't turn around to see me.

DN: ....Somewhere I hope you'll never find out.

YN: What do you mean?

He ignores me as he continue walking away.

YN: Wait, dad. Dad!

I ran after him to the fog but I could see him until I bump into Eli.

YN: Eli?

Eli: YN, are you alright?

YN: Yeah, I think the nightmares stuff worn off.

Eli: We gotta get back to the team.

Eli hands Frost back to me which I'm gladly to have her back.

YN: Sorry about back there.

Eli: You got hit by a nightgeist. Its fine-

Just then something spooky was coming at them.

Eli: I don't like the sound of that.

YN: Agree.

We both got our partner slugs ready and aim until I realized it was a frightgeist slug.

YN: No way, its a frightgeist slug.

Eli: Cool! (Approach the slug.) That's quite the trick you just pulled. I could use a guy like you on my team.

YN: Looks like there's only one around. As much as I like to go find another, we gotta help our friends.

Suddenly the miners ghosts appear in front of us but we try to talk to senses about being on the same side and reasoning that we've been trying to stop it so that it won't happen to anyone. We also convince them to help us which they'll gladly help.

Eli: Good, you guys can help.

YN: It won't be long before Nacho come after us.

Eli: (Smirk.) Don't worry, I have a plan.

YN: I'm all open ears.

Eli: I'll lure Nacho away so that you can help our friends, leave him to me.

YN: With the frightgeist slug on our side. I'll trust you.

Eli nods before I leave to help our friends and see that they're being pushed against the wall.

YN: Frost, freeze them out!

I fire Frost who unleash snowballs at them as it freezes them before I join up with my friends.

YN: Sorry I'm late guys.

Kord: Better late than never.

Trixie: Where's Eli?

Suddenly we hear someone screaming, only to see it was Nacho running away in fear.

YN: (Smirk.) Giving Nacho a taste of his own medicine.

Nacho: TO THE TRAIN!

As our enemies got on to the train, We saw Eli leading the ghosts. But the train begins to leave.

Eli: Stop that train!

3rd POV

It was too late as Nacho destroys the control room with a hoprock ghoul and the well became unstable.

Kord: That slug took out the control room and that took out all the fail safe!

Trixie: This thing is gonna blow!

Suddenly the Dark water begin to leak out by the pressure.

Eli: We need to plus that pipe!

YN: We can't use our slugs, they'll get ghouled!

Kord then notice Pronto is stuck on a pipe and gets an idea as he picks Pronto up.

Kord: (Smiles.) You're perfect!

Pronto: (Smiles.) Of course I am- wait, perfect for what?

Kord then place him on the pipe as it soon begins to stop.

YN: I don't believe it, that actually worked.

Pronto: Once again, Pronto saves the day!

Eli: Definitely hard to believe.

Short time skip

Kord then sealed the pipe perfect with a piece of metal to keep it from leaking.

Kord: All right guys, that should do it. This well sealed up for good.

Miner: And we'll make sure it stays that way.

As the miner speak, they begin to turn back to normal as YN saw their auras aren't red anymore. He was confused until they mentioned a frightgeist slug.

Miner: For what, one of these?

The minor has two slugs and hands them to us.

Miner: (Smiles.) Take them, you can all have one. (To YN.) Hey, I've recognize you. You're that kid from before.

YN: (Chuckles.) Yeah, its good to see you too.

Miner: Good thing you have friends now that you're in Deadweed. (Laughs.)

YN: Thanks for the slug by the way.

Eli was then quiet until Trixie ask him what's wrong.

Eli: This wasn't exactly a victory. Blakk's men got away with a ton of dark water. Who knows how many he's already stockpiled. And if he somehow made a deal with whatever is down in the deep caverns, no telling what else he could do.

YN: And then there's Nacho.

Eli: What about him?

YN: You notice he didn't had any safety suit, yet noting happened to him when he was exposed to it.

Kord: Who do you think he is exactly?

YN: One thing for sure, I doubt he's not even close to human or anything in Slugterra. Either way, let's just hope there aren't any more like him around.
