3rd POV

The Shane gang are now at the Shane base and everybody's minding their own business until YN notice Eli is watching Slug Run on TV.

TV: Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Its the slug run! As always, a new deadly course with new deadly challenges and a me deadly awesome slug at the prize! So awesome it could kill you. Death by awesome!

Eli: (Grin.) That's crazy and awesome!

YN: Really? Eli, a race like that is way too dangerous. And I don't care what's the reward when you wi-

TV: This year we got the rarest slugs of all! A crystallyd slug! One surfaces every 100 years!

The second he heard the slug, YN Immediately pushes Eli away to see the TV to confirm.

YN: (Shout.) WHAT!?!

TV: So expect the most ruthless wild racers on a course so dangerous, its insane!

This left both of them speechless until Eli breaks it.

Eli: Um....(Smiles.) That's....!

Trixie: Yeah, the slug run is always amazing.

Kord: Total mecha crush fest. (Grin.) I can't wait watch it!

Eli: (Smirk.) What do you mean watch?

Kord: No, no way. You've done a ton of crazy things since I met you, but when it comes to this race, you're gonna have to trust me.

10 minutes later.....

We see Eli is on his mecha beast and the rest are at the slug racing. Every other racers are gathered around for the race.

Kord: (Sigh.) Or not. This is gonna be...

Eli: (Chuckle.) Awesome.

Just then YN arrive with his mecha beast.

Eli: You're gonna race too?

YN: Of course I am, there's no way I'd let you get the crystallyd slug.

Eli: I get that its rare, but is it really that special?

YN: Obviously, LN and Shane family have been trying to capture it first for generation. Including our dads. But to think there's one in the racing, now that's a real challenge. A deadly one too.

Eli: Come on, its a race. How bad could it be?

Announcer: Welcome racers! Make sure your death and dismemberment forms are filled out. As always, when you lose limbs, its up to you to pick them up. Unless you lose both arms in which case, no high fives for you. And remember, the slugging rule will be inevitable.

Eli: Okay, well that's good, I'm not bad with my blaster.

Trixie: Um the slugging rule is that you can't use your blaster against other riders.

Eli: Shouldn't that be called the no slugging rule?

YN: Either way, the rules are rules. But I'd take my chances. Heard that we're going through one of the dangerous caverns in the race.

Pronto: If you two want to survive, you need to be like Pronto. Razor sharp focus, nerves of steel, and never let anything get in your head.

Suddenly Pronto notice a familiar molenoid who's walking through the crowd with his mecha beast.

Pronto: (Whispers.) Sedo! My life...long...nemesis!

Pronto approaches his nemesis while the rest were confused.

Eli: What was that all about?

YN: No clue. But the race is about to start. No way I'm letting you take that slug without a challenge. 

Eli: (Smirk.) Right back at you!

All the racers are now line up at the starting line.

YN: Ready Frost?

Frost nods excitedly.

Eli: (Smiles.) Don't worry Burpy, we'll take it easy. We're just here to have fun. And if we have a win, bonus!

Just then, Pronto has enter the race with his mecha beast.

Eli: (Confused.) Pronto? What are you-

Pronto: Sedo think he is more more than Pronto? Pronto will show him who's the moliest of the molenoids! Raaa- (Cough.)

Announcer: Are you racers ready?

The announcer prepare his blaster as all the racers start their engines.

Announcer: Set?

Suddenly another racer arrive with a horse mecha as the crowd are cheering for him.

YN: No way, Vance bolt?

Eli: You know this guy?

YN: He's the champion in the slug run. He won 3 race in a row. Now this is a worthy challenge.

Vance: (Smirk.) Yes, I know, I'm right on time. (Chuckles.) Vance bolt doesn't do standing around. So if we could just, you know.

Announcer: Sure thing Mr. Bolt. Gooo!

He fires a flare slug and all the racers drives. Some of the racers begin crashing each other while others are evading it.

Eli: What's up with that guy?

Vance: I'm the 3 time champion and the guy to beat. Not that any of you have a chance to do that.

YN: Care to test that right now pal?

Vance: You still won't have a chance, now that I've completely overhauled my mecha. Thanks to my new sponsor, Blakk industries.

YN: Wait, as in Dr. Blakk?

Vance didn't answer by using his boost on his mecha to accelerate.

Eli: Blakk, must be after the tunneler! You know what this means?

Pronto: Yes, I must defeat Sedo! Raaaaah!

Eli: No we gotta win to stop Bolt from-

YN: No time to talk, I gotta win that slug!

YN and Pronto accelerate to catch up with the others.

Eli: Hey, wait up!

Eli catches up as they enter the next cavern where there's stone pillars. The racer on the elephant mecha just rams through them while the stones fall as it hit one of the mecha beasts.

YN POV

I don't know what's worst, letting Dr. Blakk take that slug or Eli winning that slug. But one thing for sure, I gotta win that slug before either of then do. Just then we exit the cavern as most of the racers are taking the bridge which is the long way while Vance and Eli are taking the shortcut.

However, Eli mechas isn't custome to use the shortcut like this one since its just stone pillars. One wrong move and that's the end. Fortunately for me, mines the same unit as Vince. 

YN: Eli, what are you doing? Your mecha isn't custom to go through that!

Eli: Don't worry, I got this under control!

Suddenly I notice he's slipping down which caught me worried but then he slides down easily until he accidentally crash and fell.

YN: Eli!

Eli: I'm okay, just focus on the race!

YN: Got it!

I continue on racing but then something just pop in my head and I realize where Eli fell.

Eli POV

Guess taking the shortcut was a bad idea. Thankfully my mecha is still good so I'm still in the race.

Eli: (To his slugs.) Everyone all right?

They nod which made me relieve to know they're okay. After that, I hop back on my ride.

Eli: Looks like we're all good.

Just then I notice Vince fell down but manage to land safely with his mecha.

Vince: (Smirk.) Well, it looks like this race just became a bit of a challenge.

Eli: You do know this isn't the shortcut.

Vince: I've gotten outta worse.

Just then I back up as I notice something is behind him.

Vince: I know Vance Bolt is intimidating, but there's no need to-

Eli: Shhh!

I point what's behind him and he see the shadow clan are behind us.

Vince: (Realize.) Shadow clan.

Eli: Something tells me they're not in the race.

Vince: Yeah, something tells me you're right.

Just then we heard a blaster and we look up to see a Phosphoro slug and it flashes to blind the shadow clan. We look and saw it was YN who fired his slug with his long shot blaster.

YN: Don't just stand there, run for it!

Vince: Let's move!

Vince and I drive away from the shadow clan but they then begin pursuing us. They begin catching up on me since my mecha wasn't fast enough. Plus that I'm not fully skilled with mechas.

Vince: Come on kid, kick it! Go, go!

I look back only to see them still pursuing us.

Eli: They're not slowing down! We have to find a our of this canyon!

Vince: Well eventually this leads to a dead end. We're trapped!

They began shooting hop rock slugs at us as we try to evade any hit.

Eli: So that's the way its gonna be.

Giving no choice but to use my slugs by shooting my hop rock and Chiller to slow and block them.

Vince: What do you think you're doing!?

Eli: Mostly try not to die so I can get back to the race.

Vince: This is the race, everything's a race and you just broke the slugging rule!

Eli: The rule is that I can't fire at another racer. I don't think those things are trying to win a race.

Just then, they manage to break through the ice wall and continue to chase after. Soon YN blast his tormato slug to give us an exit we made it and letting the tornado get us back up. The shadow clan almost caught me until Vince toss a cable for me to attach it to mine to lift me back away from the shadow clan.

Vince: Well now we're even. If you got any brains, you'll drop out before this race kills you.

3rd POV

They both get back to racing and soon Eli catch up to Pronto and YN while Vince passes through them.

YN: Glad you made it.

Eli: You guys OK?

Pronto: I will be once I best Sedo!

Pronto charges while making a battlecry. Soon the racers enter the next cavern that are filled with mysterious crystals.

Pronto: Whatever you do, do not touch those crystals.

Eli: Why?

YN: Best not to know.

Pronto: Less questions, more crushing Sedo!

Pronto battlecry once again until he catches up to his nemesis.

Pronto: Bet you didn't expect to see me again, huh?

Sedo: (Confused.) And you are?

Pronto: (Glares.) ....Pronto-

Before he could even finish, his mecha beast trip, causing Pronto fly off and hits the crystals. Just then then, the crystal glows in red and started to move, revealing a giant crystal worm monster as it roars.

Pronto: And that's why we don't touch crystals.

YN: Run for it!

Luckily the worm crystal was drawn to the racer who's riding on the chicken mecha beast. This gave them the opportunity to escape. However, more of them started to awaken and goes after the racers one by one.

YN: There's too many of them, at this point they're gonna get in our way from getting that slug!

Eli: I got this!

Eli blast a rammstone slug to clear the path for them as the slug knocks the worms away.

Eli: (To his slug.) Nice work, now get back home safe.

His slug nods before leaving. A few more of the crystal worms are after them, but Eli and YN uses their blasters to clear them out. But at this point, none of them are able to catch up to Vince.

   Fortunately for them, they manage to find a easy shortcut and risk taking it in order to win the slug before Dr. Blakk could. Things became difficult when Vince and Eli mecha were stuck and a crystal worm is blocking their way. Giving no other choice, YN uses Razor and take aim.

YN: Eli, heads up!

Eli looks behind and see's YN fire Razor at the worm to knock it back as it transform to cut their mecha to separate them. Just when they got to the tunnel, the worm roars and rolls after them.

YN: Don't look back, but that worms not done with us!

Eli: We got this!

Vince: Are you crazy!? You're not fast enough to stay ahead of that thing! You want to get squashed!?

Eli: Uh no, you want to let me win?

Vince: (Smirk.) Sorry guys.

Vince uses nitro boost to accelerate.

YN: Oh no you don't!

YN uses nitro as well to catch up on Vince.

Vince: You?

YN: You think you're the only one with extra boost pal? Well think again.

Vince: (Smirk.) Luckily I did.

Vince just bumps YN mecha as he crashed to the wall which slows him down. But YN was still in the race as he uses his nitro one last time. But just as he was close, he looks behind to see Eli was thrown by his arachnet web. Both of them race to the finish line as fast as they can until they both cross the finish line at the same time as the crowd are taking pictures.

Eli: You hear that Burpy? We made it!

YN: I made it first before you did!

Eli: No you didn't, I made it before you did!

Announcer: And here comes Eli Shane and YN LN tied to second place!

YN: What?

They then see it was Vince who won 1st place.

They both became depressed, knowing that it won't be long before Dr. Blakk get his hand on the slug. They then leave the crowd together.

YN: Man, can't believe it...

Eli: Guess we lost... Now that Blakk got the slug.

YN: Hey, we did our best. He just hired a professional racer against us.

Just then, Vince catches up with them.

Vince: Sorry guys, no prize coming in second. Well, which ever you guys got second. But either way, except this time.

Vince hands them the crystallyd slug which caught them by surprise.

Eli: Oh really? Are you sure?

Vince: I won, that's a good enough prize for me. Like I said, I'm a racer, not a slinger.

YN happily takes the slug.

YN: Finally, after all these years of claiming this slug. Now we can keep you safe from Dr. Blakk. Huh, I think I'll call you...(Smiles.) Del.

Del smiles and nods.

Eli: What about Blakk? He's expecting you to give this to him.

Vince: Well, seeing what you guys put on the line just to stop him from getting that thing, something tells me he shouldn't have it.

???: Oh, but he will have it.

They look and see Sedo who pushes the button on his mecha, only to reveal a blaster on his mecha and shoots a ghoul at them. This knocks them back as Vince was knocked out and YN accidentally drop the slug.

Sedo: I'll give him the slug myself. (Evil laugh.)

Eli: What!? You work for blakk!

YN: Now I'm starting to see why Pronto hates him.

Sedo: Do you two really think Blakk would trust a show off like Vance Bolt? I was just hidden mole in the race. You could say I'm a mole who's a mole on a mole. Tripling my moletude to unfathomable awesomeness. Blakk plays all the angles, that's why always gets what he wants.

Eli: He doesn't have what he wants yet.

YN: And if you're gonna get it, you're gonna have to go through us!

Sedo: (Chuckles.) You really think you're that fast?

Eli: (Smirk.) I don't know, let's find out.

They both quickly draw their blaster and start blasting each other.

Eli: Get the slug! I'll distract him!

YN nods and goes for the slug. But Sedo then blasted a Frostcrawler ghoul on his legs and he slipped. Soon Sedo grabs the slug which is sleeping.

Eli: Alright mole, hand that slug or I'll-

Sedo: Hold that thought for a second.

Sedo pushes the button as 4 more blasters appear from his mecha.

Sedo: You were saying? 

YN tries to reach for his blasters but the ice was holding his lower body while Eli is the only one standing against Sedo to save the slug.

Sedo: I can see by your face that you're impressed. Blakk, compensated me quite well to be his back up plan. Now drop your weapon. Pretty please.

Suddenly the ground starts to rumble as they all hear someone shouting a battlecry.

Sedo: (Confused.) Where have I heard that before?

Just then a crystal worm emerge out from the ground, revealing Pronto riding on its back.

Eli & YN: (Surprise.) Pronto!?

Pronto then crashes Sedo mecha as he the slug slip out of his hand and Pronto catches it.

Sedo: You!

Pronto: Ah, now you remember me. Pronto, you're life long nemesis!

Pronto then load the crystallyd slug in his blaster as Sedo charges at him. Pronto then blasted the slug as it transform and drills a hold where Sedo was trapped.

Sedo: You can't burry a mole, I'll dig my way back to get you! (Laugh.) One day!

Sedo then fell in the hole they all saw he fell. Thankfully Burpy melted the ice to free YN.

Pronto: The name is Pronto, worm rider!

YN: Pronto....did you just threw the crystallyd slug away!?

Pronto: Oh uh, sorry about your slug.

Eli: (Smiles.) Are you kidding? As long as Blakk doesn't have it, I'm cool.

YN: Well, I am not.

YN slaps the worm which causes to go on rampage around as Pronto tries to get it under control.

Pronto: Ah! Down you crazy worm!

Time skip

After the recent event, everybody recovered while Kord is fixing Vince Bolt and Pronto told them the story of recent event.

Pronto: And then Pronto saves the day.

Kord: Yeah whatever. I'll eat my wrench if that's really what happened.

Vince: You'll have to take Eli and YN's word for it. I was out like a light.

Eli: Actually that's exactly what happened.

YN: Believe it or not.

Pronto: Haha! Start eating cave troll.

Kord sigh and takes a bite of his tool before chewing.

Trixie: Sorry we didn't make it to the finish line in time.

Eli: Yeah, but the important thing is-

Pronto: (Grin.) Pronto crushed Sedo!

YN: Yeah, by losing the slug.

Eli: And we stopped Blakk. I'll take that as a win any day.

Vince: (Smirk.) Even though you lost to me.

Kord then finish up fixing Vince mecha beast.

Vince: How's it look?

Kord: She's good as new. Plus a few extra touches.

YN: Whatever Blakk did to your mecha beast. We'll find out and stop it. I got a feeling it ain't gonna be the last thing he does with the mecha beasts.

Vince hops on his mecha and start the engine as it runs smooth.

Vince: (Smiles.) You got quite a team here. And you have quite a leader.

Vince offers Eli a handshake which he accepted it.

Eli: You know, Blakk's going to be coming after you. If you want to join up with us.

Vince: (Chuckles.) Thanks, but uh I told you. Vance Bolt is a racer, not a slinger. Besides, if he wants me, Blakk will have to catch me first.

YN: Either way, you got friends who help.

Vince: Appreciate it.

Before Vince could leave, Eli stops him.

Eli: You think its as simple as that? No way you're riding out of here. (Smirks.) Until you teach me some of your moves.

Trixie: (To Kord.) You could stand to learn a few new moves.

Kord: So could you.

YN: You guys go on without me, its been a long day for me.

Eli: Still feeling down for losing the slug?

YN: Yeah. But hey, what's another 100 years of waiting. (Chuckles.) I'll just head back. See you guys there.

Eli: See you then.

Vince: (Smirk.) Try and keep up!

Eli, Trixie, and Kord follow Vince while YN head back home and Pronto is telling the story of how he tamed the worm unaware that everyone's gone.

YN POV

Well, we lost the crystallyd slug. On a bright side, least its out of Blakk hands. No telling what'd it do when its ghouled. Right now I arrive back at the Shane home. But to my surprising, the crystallyd slug I name it Del popped out of nowhere and saw me.

YN: Del! You came back!

Del smiles as I pick him up for him to meet the rest of my slugs including slugs until I hear a blaster charging and a familiar teenage girl voice.

???: I'd figured you'd get the slug one way or another.

YN: (Sigh.) I'd figure you'd show up around. Here for the slug huh?

???: I would, but you'd probably won't hold back fighting me after the last time we saw each other.

YN: Just be glad we got bigger problem on our hands, thanks to Blakk.

???: Well I guess it wouldn't be fun now. I'll come back later.

YN: Why you're here exactly? You'd probably head back to my home to meet me rather than the Shane base.

???: ....Isn't it obvious?

Just then I hear a blast as I quickly turn around and aim my blaster. But then she was gone, leaving a trace of string of web. It was no doubt about it, it was her.
