YN POV

So now that we got the Vatalis crystal and hand it to Red Hook, its up to him and mom to make the fusion blaster with the blueprint. But as Red Hook mentioned, it won't be done sooner than expected. Can't argue about that, especially to my mom since its not like any other weapons they make.

   A powerful weapon like that takes time to build and test yet we have little time before Blakk improves the gatler. Until then its up to me and my slugs to face it since I can do fusion with my slugs. But for now, I just want to be "off duty" since we've never had a chance to have a break from all those struggling we've fought.

   Even my slugs deserve a break. So I decided to call it for today. Besides, I kept my promise and I owe someone. Right now I'm at the mall with my civilian clothes while waiting for someone until I hear a familiar voice.

???: Hey YN.

I turn around only to meet Dana with her civilian clothes too as well as wearing a cap to keep a low profile from anyone suspicious about her. Cuz you know, she's one of the top thieves in slugterra.

YN: Hey Dana.

Dana: Nice to see you again. Without chasing after me.

YN: And without you doing your taking stuff too.

Dana: (Smirk.) Just for today at least.

YN: I'm just gonna let that slide since its a date.

Dana: No pressure.

YN: (Smiles.) First stop in the mall, arcade.

Dana: Heh, still eager to beat me again in the arcade?

YN: Um, I remember last time I beat you in the arcade.

Dana: Hmm, I don't remember it.

YN: So you really want to do this huh?

Dana: Afraid to lose again against me?

YN: When it comes to Slug Kombat, I'll never be afraid to challenge you.

Dana: (Laugh.) One way to find out then.

YN: After you then.

I open the door to let her in first before we head straight to the arcade.

Time skip

After playing games at the arcade, we went to grab some supplies for Dana and our own base. Not that it needs some repairs but it wouldn't hurt to improve the place. Also I needed to get a new punching bag since I accidentally break the old one the last time I remembered.

   At first I thought it was very old but turns out I didn't know my own strength. So I decided to hold back a lot even when I punch Twist in the face. Right now we just got out of the mall with the supplies and drinking smoothie.

YN: Can't believe I loss twice.

Dana: (Smirk.) Best 2 out of 3. Don't forget, I'm the master of arachnet the karate slug.

YN: Reality, pretty sure Froster-zero would beat arachnet the karate slug easily.

Dana: Least you haven't used Rammer the stone fist. I'd beat you before you even realize.

YN: You're not wrong about that, most would use brute strength.

Dana: All about the skills and practice.

YN: Wanna drop off these stuff at our base first?

Dana: Yeah, later we can set it up after our date. We just need to carry it all over there.

YN: Leave that to me.

I place the punching bag at the back of my meche before tie it from falling while Dana did the same. Soon after we head back while looking around to see if there's any sign of Dr Blakk or any of his pals. Once we drop them off, we left off.

YN: So where to next?

Dana: I don't know, but I could go for a lunch right now.

YN: How bout Ricochet Pizza? I have a friend who works there.

Dana: Cool.

YN: Follow me.

We then head to Mario Bravado pizza restaurant. It was a long run but it'll be worth it because if there's one guy I know who makes the best pizza, its Mario. Soon we arrive and parked our mechas before entering.

   To my surprising, there's a lot of customers in his restaurant than the last time I was here. By the looks of it, it seems like he's happy to have a lot of customers. I approach to the counter before speaking.

YN: Seems like your business is going good.

Mario: YN hey. Ever since I help you out with saving your pal and prisoners, words spread out about my appearance and came to visit at my restaurant. Good to see you again by the way.

YN: (Smiles.) Good to see you too.

We made a bro handshake as he notice Dana next to me.

Mario: Who's your friend here?

Dana: I'm Dana Por. Nice to meet you.

Mario: (To YN.) Let me guess, your girlfriend?

YN: (Smiles.) Yup.

Mario: Huh, for the moment I thought you'd blush.

YN: (Chuckles.) A little late about that.

Mario: Okay then, same as usual?

YN: Yeah, but leave the extra cheese this time please.

Mario: You got it. (Whispers.) So did you kiss?

This caught me off guard as I blush. Causing my friend to chuckle.

Mario: (Whispers.) Got you there.

YN: Okay, okay, you got me.

Mario: (Whispers.) Don't worry, I got your back. (Normal.) Just take a seat and your pizza will be ready soon.

YN: Thanks.

Mario hand me 2 sodas before Dana and I head to a table right by the window.

Dana: This is nice.

YN: Yeah, I use to visit his restaurant sometimes to have some pizza and sometimes challenging him on our speedstinger trickshots.

Dana: (Curious.) Rivals?

YN: Nah, we've been friends since we were kids.

Dana: I'd like to hear about it. 

YN: Okay. Only if you tell me about your time as a kid.

Dana: (Smiles.) Fair enough.

I hand her a soda and we both drank. Soon after Mario arrive with our pizza with a shape of heart. I look at Mario only to see him wink. I couldn't help but chuckle, guess you could say he's my wingman supporting our relationship.

   After that, Dana and I have been trading our own stories about our childhood. How we've met our slugs, how our dads taught us a lot of things, and how we've been practicing with our slinging. We've been at it for a few hours, but I enjoy our conversation.

Dana: You know, this is actually a nice day. No sign of Blakk and his goons or any other threat around.

YN: Honesty, its really nice that they haven't show up once in a while.

Soon Mario arrive with a pay check.

Mario: Thank you for stopping by guys.

YN: Thanks for the pizza pal.

I was about to pay until we hear the door open and turn around to soo who it is. Turns out to be Twist and a few of Blakks goons.

3rd POV

YN quickly turn his head away to avoid being spotted. Dana put a mask on while I put my hoodie on while hearing Twist talking to Mario.

Twist: Mario, Dr Blakk still waiting for your response as well as the payment.

Mario: (Fold his arms.) The answer is still no.

Mario walks back to his kitchen but Twist stops him.

Twist: If you don't want to loose your job then you'll have to pay up and sign the contract to give us the rights to build a depot in your town as well as keeping your business in exchange for serving us pizza for free.

Mario: If Blakk really wanted to take this town then he should do it by himself instead of sending his goons over here.

Twist: No, but he also sent me this as an insurance.

Twist points at the window where everyone sees the gatler filled with ghouls.

Twist: I'm guessing you remember what happened to the previous caverns correct? So here's how its gonna go. Do exactly what Blakk request or you'll lose more than your restaurant.

Mario couldn't say anything until YN stand up and pull out his blasters as Twist notice him but not knowing its YN since he's covering his face with a hood.

Twist: Got a death wish?

YN: No, do you?

They both aim their blasters at each other.

YN: You can't just go and take peoples home like its yours. This is our home and we'll defend it.

Some of the slingers stood up and hold their blasters too.

Twist: You got guts, I'll give you that. But you shouldn't pick a fight against Dr Blakk.

Twist disappears, revealing that it was Loki's doing. Most of the people were confused while YN sees Twist is outside with a gatler, ready to fire. Without even thinking, YN immediately jump through the window and fired Flash to blind Twist from firing the gatler.

Twist: Don't just stand there, get them!

The henchmen were about to fire but Dana quickly fired her arachnet slugs at them from the window before swinging them away. Once Twist gain back his sight. He sees his men are tied in a web with slingers holding their blasters at them.

YN: Its over Twist, your outnumbered and outgunned.

Twist: (Smirk.) Think again. You don't even know I'm the real one.

YN: I know the fake one when I see it. And there's still more of us to spot you.

Twist: You guys still don't stand a chance!

Twist pulled the trigger and the gatler fired ghouls rapidly. YN then fired Wrecker and Theo simultaneously as both of his slugs created a fusion into unbreakable punch and destroyed the gatler, knocking Twist back and shock to see someone created a fusion. Just when Twist was about to get up, YN points his blaster at him as Twist realize its YN under the hood.

Twist: You!?

YN: And they say you're the one who can fooled anyone.

He put his blasters away.

YN: Leave, go back to Dr Blakk and tell him about your failure and this town is off limits for any Blakk followers. If he wants this town then he should do it by himself.

Twist: Big mistake you've made. Blakk isn't gonna let this go easily.

YN: Counting on it.

Twist runs off with his mecha and leaves. With it, YN uses Mercy to cure the ghouls they've left behind before Dana approaches him.

Dana: Why didn't you stop him? He might gonna come back.

YN: If he does, then we'll make sure he never leave.

The towns people then cheers as well as the slingers in this town for YN saving their home.

Mario: Thanks YN, guess the towns owes you a favor.

YN: (Smiles.) I'll stay in touch.

Mario: What are friends for?

YN and Mario gave each other a handshake.

Mario: Can't thank you enough even as a friend, but pizza is on the house the next time you stop by.

YN: Thanks Mario. I'll see you around.

Mario: Until next time.

YN and Dana then head off with his mecha while she's behind YN and wrap her arms around him.

Dana: You know, this day was the best date.

YN: (Smirk.) First one too.

Time skip to night fall

Soon they arrive at their hiding place for YN to drop her off as she's wearing his hoodie.

Dana: I had fun today YN.

YN: Honestly, I wasn't expecting Twist to show up. But at least he didn't ruined our date completely.

Dana: Hm, maybe next time you stop by for training practices. You could use a partner for training.

YN: Just like good times.

Dana: (Smirk.) Oh you mean you're gonna let me win all the time?

YN: (Blush.) Hey that was one time!

Dana couldn't help but laughs. Soon after, she hand YN back his jacket but declines it.

YN: Nah, keep it. You could use it. Besides, you look beautiful with or without it.

Dana: Thanks YN. Until next time?

YN: Until next time.

Dana kisses his cheek one more time before she head inside. But she looks at him one last time and closes the door.

YN: Be honest Frost, how did that go?

Frost jumps on his shoulder and wave her hand as in so so.

YN: Nah it was way better.

Frost just laughs as they head back home.

YN tries to remove the lipstick Dana left on his cheek before the Shane gang notice.
