YN POV

Its been a week since I've told my friends about my back story with Dana. Since that day, we haven't seen her anywhere. But knowing Dana, she's probably laying low as we know it.

   So right now, we got a distress call and we're heading to the cavern filled with scientists. One of my top 10 most hated or at least annoying caverns in slugterra. Although it is quite entertaining when you find something interesting.

Kord: (Smiles.) Futuria cavern. Always wanted to see this place.

YN: Let's just get this over with and leave as soon as possible.

Eli: You have a thing against science?

YN: You can create what you want with science, but if it ever falls into the wrong hands, a lot of bad things can happened or worst, gets out of hands. Blakk proved that. Though I have to admit, its quite entertaining to hear that they have cool secret labs.

Kord: See? Think positive.

Pronto: (Scoffs.) Science is vastly overrated. Pronto has no need for facts, I go with my gas. (Stomach grumbles.) Oh, and my guts tells me its passed my lunch time. If this so called scientists are such geniuses where did they put all the restaurants?

Trixie: Where did they put all the people? And I don't see any slugs either.

???: The slugs are all hiding.

Soon we see a scientist lady walking towards us.

Kathryn: I'm Kathryn McGregor.

Eli: You're the one who called about the rogue scientist?

Kathryn: Quentin's always been a little...quirky, this time he's crossed the line.

Eli: Anyone try to stand up to this guy?

Kathryn: We're scientist, not slugslingers.

YN: And you guys didn't thought of having securities in the cavern?

Kathryn: Securities would've destroy the science labs in the fight.

Eli: (Scratch his head.) Yeah, good point.

YN: (Sigh.) Alright, I'll handle this.

Eli: Nah, I got this. Besides, its just one rogue scientist. We don't wanna look so mean to him when its all of us against him.

YN: (Shrug.) Suit yourself.

Eli POV

I hop off my mecha beast and head inside the lab only to see Quentin is ruining the lab including the scientist with a weird slug he has.

Quentin: I'm not finished yet!

Eli: (Aims his blaster.) Yeah, actually I think you are.

Eli: I was hoping we could reason this out, but you're kinda beyond reason aren't you?

Quentin: (Smirk.) I prefer to say that I'm beyond your understanding Eli Shane. Oh yes, I know who you are.

Shane: Then you know how I work. I'm gonna give you one chance to do the right thing and apologize to all these people. Otherwise-

Quentin: (Smirk.) Otherwise we duel?

Eli: That's right.

Quentin: (Smirk.) Oh, this will be fun.

Short time skip

Quentin and I were outside at the main street facing each other for a duel.

Quentin: I'm gonna blast that nasty hung right off your shoulder!

This got Burpy angry by Quintin's insult.

Eli: I think you just insulted my slugs. (Smirk.) Bad idea.

I load Burpy in my blaster before firing. But Quentin uses his roboslug to counter my slug which the attack hit hard to my slug.

Eli: Burpy, are you okay!?

Burpy nods shyly as I fire rammstone at Quentin but same as Burpy, he counter it.

Quentin: (Smirk.) You were beaten before you began. I've downloaded databases on every slinger who's ever shot a slug. You, your friends, even your father the great Will Shane.

Eli: He'd have beaten you in a minute. Including the LN. Might take me too.

I fire arachnet slug at him but Quintin dodges it.

Quentin: Your father was a slug lover just like you.

Quentin then knocks my slug down very easily.

Quentin: Ha! He successfully used that identical arachnet move in 17 different duels. Your attempt however, has failed. And my roboslugs will continue to truimph over your weak disgusting slugs and tired old tactics.

Eli: (Smirk.) Then I guess I'll have to some new tactics.

I pick up Jewels and Enigma slug.

First I blast The enigma slug before blasting Jewels. This time Quentin didn't counter any of those two, which means he doesn't have Amy files of either of those two. Instead, he dodge the enigma before Jewels destroyed his blaster wrist.

Eli: (Grin.) Smart slug slinging will beat mad science every time Quintin. Its over.

Quentin: Over? Ha! You won't believe what I'll bring when I come back.

I see Quentin press his device wrist and he tries to teleport away which he failed as the rest of the Shane gang arrive.

Trixie: Um, you're still here.

Quentin realizes and he runs away.

Pronto: That's right, you slink away scoundrel while your batters- (Stomach growls.) Oh uh, while your batters look for lunch.

Pronto leave to find food before YN ask me a question.

YN: I take it he almost "scientistly" beat you?

Eli: Almost. But we better get ready for this guy. I sure don't think he's gone for good.

Kord: (Grin.) He's probably back at his secret lab.

YN: On that, we can agree.

Trixie: Get real you two, you guys been watching too many fiction vids. Not all scientists have "secret labs."

Kord and YN fold their arms as they both grin.

YN: (Grin.) Wanna bet on it?

3rd POV

Pronto was still looking for food until he returns with a can of food.

Kord: I bet he's got some super doomsday weapon he's gonna spring on us.

YN: We'll be ready.

Eli: I don't know, Quentin roboslugs are formidable. He knows every slug moves. Including your family and mine.

YN: (Smirk.) Then I bet he's never seen a Frost slug before.

Frost smirks before Pronto speaks.

Pronto: Ha! Let him bring his super weapon of doom. Once Pronto feed his mighty stomach, he will be the match of any foe. Now a more pressing problem, did anyone bring a can opener?

YN: Hmph, for a cavern that has smart people, they sure didn't come prepared for that.

Suddenly they felt a rumbling until they see something ahead.

Kord: We sure didn't come prepared for that...!

Pronto: And my day just got worse.

Quentin: (From speaker.) Oh you have no idea how bad is gonna get!

YN: (Sigh.) This is why I hate this cavern.

Quentin: (From speaker.) Round two slug lovers!

Eli: Mechas, now!

The Shane gang got on their mecha and charge at him.

Eli: Take that thing down fast.

They fire slug at the mech but it was no use.

Kord: Eli, plan B?

Eli: Stay alive.

Quentin then fire roboslugs at them with each has different types of power. The Shane gang continue to shoot slugs but every slug has been countered by a roboslugs until Eli fires a flopper slug which did nothing but hit at the chest of the mech leaving slime on the windshield.

Quentin: Flopper slugs? (Laughs.) No defense needed!

Kord and YN look at Eli with disappointed look.

Eli: I had to try.

Trixie: He's gotta have a weak spot!

Trixie aim at the back of the mech and fires a hoprock slug. Hitting directly at the glowing green spot. However, it didn't to seem to even leave a scratch from the explosive.

Quentin: (Speaker.) Cheap shot Trixie, but I don't have any weak spots. While you and your pathetic meatbag are just one enormous weak spot!

This made YN mad from hearing that insult including Frost.

YN: Alright that's it! Give him the chill Frost!

Frost nods as he loads and fire her at the mech.

Quentin: Oh, a Frostcrawler slug again? Ha! Its useless.

Quentin fires multiple roboslugs at her and counters it with fire. However, once Frost transformed, she unleash a powerful blow by blowing a windcold. Enough to freeze the roboslugs and shattered to pieces. This made Quentin shock to see a slug destroying his roboslugs as he quickly scans for anything about YN slug.

Quentin: What, no match found? What kind of slug is that!?

This gave the Shane gang the opportunity to retreat as Frost landed on YN shoulder and became exhausted from using that move. Soon they arrive to a cave where they meet Kathryn.

Kord: Well, that was humiliating.

Eli: Nothing to be ashamed about. Quentin got some awesome tech, but that doesn't make him better.

Trixie: My hoprock couldn't even get near the guy.

YN: Frost manage to take down most of his roboslugs. But she's now exhausted from using all that energy in one blow.

Eli: (Curious.) Wait, so why didn't Quentin counter your slug attack? Isn't she similar to Frostcrawler.

YN: She's a very rare ice slug. Mad brain probably doesn't have any files of her kind-

Suddenly they hear a metal banging which was Pronto who's trying to open the food can with a rock.

Kord: Hey, hey, hey, uh why you beating that innocent rock there Pronto?

Pronto: Perhaps I should pitch this stubborn can against something harder like your thick troll skull!

Pronto continues to banging it to the rock while Kathryn speaks.

Kathryn: Glayou made it away safely, but you aren't safe here with all that banging.

Pronto ketp banging it until YN grabs it and opens it easily.

Pronto: Wait, how come that was easy for you!?

YN: I pulled the pin to open it....

Pronto: Oh uh....I knew that.

Kathryn: I've got a place nearby where we can regroup.

Kord: (Excited.) Oooh, a secret lab perhaps?

Trixie: Oh please.

Few second later....

They arrive to a secret lab where Kord and YN folded their arms while smirking at Trixie. Knowing that they both were right.

Trixie: Okay, I was wrong!

Kathryn: (Chuckles.) All our scientists have secret labs.

They both continue to smirk while YN pull out his hand, waiting until Trixie pay him money from winning the bet before Eli ask Kathryn.

Eli: So what's the deal with Quentin? He really hates slugs.

Kathryn: He doesn't just hate them, he's terrified of them.

Eli: (Smirk.) Really? That's good to know.

YN: Indeed....

Kord: Uh, what's with that creepy smile and where are you looking at?

YN: (Confused.) What are you talking about?

Kathryn talks about his back story when they were kids and how he was afraid of them. From all his work, he's been finding a way to live without the slugs.

YN: See? This is exactly why I don't like science. (To Kathryn.) No offense.

Kathryn: None taken, Quentin brought it up on all of us.

Eli: Which is why we need to stop him. There's gotta be an angle.

YN: Well, we can always toss a flopper slug at him. Only if we find a way to get get close through his defense. We'd need something big to go against him.

Eli: Something big....(Smirk.) I've got an idea. But we'll need time.

Kathryn: (Smirk.) I think I've figured out a way to beat Quentin. But we're gonna need some high-tech help.

Kathryn: (Smiles.) I believe we have that covered.

Eli: And even more importantly, we need you to buy us some time.

Tobias: (Smirk.) I've got a few ideas in that regard.

Time skip

While the Shane gang work on their plan. Kathryn and Tobias are distracting Quentin for as long as they can until Quentin overcome them both. Soon The Shane gang except for YN arrive with their own mech. In short, they'll fight fire with fire.

Eli: (Speaker.) Our mega mecha mech is gonna kick your mega mechs iron but!

Eli: (Speaker.) Drop her easy and raise your hands Quentin. We'll shut you down.

Quentin: (Laughs.) In that thing?

Quentin drop her as she runs away

Quentin: (Speaker.) I've been perfecting this suit for years. How long did you spend cobbling that wreck together, five minutes?

Kord: 45 minutes smart guy!

Quentin: (Speaker.) It will take me less time than that to disassemble it!

Quentin fires roboslugs at them but the Shane mech stood its ground before they try their combo attack. At first they were doing great, but then their back is against the wall by losing their limbs except for the left leg.

Eli: Loosing control here!

Trixie: So am I!

Pronto: I have it....complete control!

Kord: Uh, maybe its time for YN to do his part?

Eli: Not yet, we need to get Quentin right where we need him.

Quentin approaches towards the Shane gang as Pronto fires his stink slug which didn't do anything.

Quentin: (Speaker.) Well that's just embarrassing. I think I'll put you out of your misery.

Eli: Try it!

With one robotic leg, the Shane mech charges at him and ram theirs against his.

Quentin: (Laughs.) Is that it? All that effort just for nothing!

Eli: Here's a thing between you and me, you may have the brains, but we never fight alone. Now YN!

YN, who's on a roof top aiming his long shot and his other blaster at them.

YN: (Smirk.) One for the scrap.

YN fires two arachnet slugs and they both wrap their webs around the mechs so that Quentin couldn't escape.

Eli: You thought we wee building a robot to beat yours, in 45 minutes?

Eli use the mechs head to headbutt Quentin's to make an open.

Eli: How dumb do you think we are? We were just building a distraction before pinning your mech down. (Jump on Quentin's mech.) And you were cocky enough to let me get close enough to do this. All yours Noodle!

Eli holds out a flopper aka Noodle as it landed on Quentin's leg and smiles. This made Quentin scared as he immediately eject his mech with his seat and landed on the ground before getting up.

YN: Over here mad brain!

Quentin sees YN landed near.

YN: This has gone far enough from your crazy science. Give up or face the consequences.

Quentin: Oh I may have started this, but this is where I will end it.

Quentin load his roboslug and aim at YN.

YN: Oh, too bad we used up all our slugs to get this far. You may be a smart guy, but there's one thing you don't know about The LN and the Shane family.

Quentin: Oh and what's that?

YN: We may just be one man, but we never fight alone.

Quentin was confused until multiple slugs fell and landed on him like a rain. This was Kathryn and Tobias doing from the rooftop. All the slugs are pile up on him as YN removes Quentin's wrist blaster while Quentin stayed frozen from all the slugs.

YN: Nice work guys. (Chuckles.) Not even a single of you guys needed to transformed.

Kord: That was sweet YN. Glad this thing held together as long as its-

Suddenly the mechs begins to fall as YN quickly moves away except for Quentin. Fortunately, all the slugs that were piled up on him saved him which surprised him.

Quentin: (To the slugs.) You...you saved me.

Noodle rubs his head against Quentins as he chuckles.

Quentin: (Chuckles.) Cut it out, that tickles. (Realize.) It tickles. And I don't mind! I-I don't know what to say. (Smiles.) Thank you.

Eli: Oh, that's a good start.

Tobias: The magistrate's on his way. I imagine you have volumes to say to him.

YN pulls out a handcuff to arrest Quentin.

YN: Sorry, but you're gonna have to answer your crimes. But hey, maybe once its over, you'll start as a new man.

Kathryn: The magistrate will take it from here. Thank you, all of you.

The Shane gang nod before they head to their mechas.

Eli: Glad that's over.

YN: Agree. If Quentin continued to do his roboslugs, who know how fast it would spread across Slugterra. This could've tip the balance badly.

Trixie: Especially when it comes to Dr Blakk. I'm just glad the roboslugs is over for good.

They all then head back home. Knowing that they stop a dangerous threat before it spread. But little did they knew, someone else was building a powerful weapon.
