17|| This Isn't the Time for Mushy-Gushy Stuff

Daisy's P.O.V.

Lacey sits on the end of the my bed that I've been laying in sobbing for the past few days since I broke up with Soda, "hey hun'. How are you today?"

"Why does heartbreak have to hurt so bad?" I sniffle as I stuff my face in my pillow.

She kisses the top of my bed, "he's in just as bad shape as you are love."

"That's impossible," I cry. "He broke my heart. I loved him, but then again what is love. What really is love?"

"I don't know sweets," she sighs. "Although you're coming out with us today....Right?"

I shake my head, "I swear I'll never leave my bed again!"Lacey drags me out of bed and I plop on the floor. "Ow."

"C'mon!" She begs. "The gang misses you. Dally misses you. Del misses you. Charlie misses you....Soda misses you."

Lucy marches into the room, "come on lazy bones! Get your tiny ass out of bed and get yourself back to the Curtis house where you belong."

"I don't want to," I whine.

"Well you have to because, if you don't your not gonna see the people you love most in the world," Lucy reminds me. "You're also gonna regret not saying hi to Sodapop."

"Why would I regret that?" I sigh.

"Because, if you don't, he's gonna move on," she states.

I lazily drag myself out of bed throwing my hair in a messy bun, sweats, and a tank-top on, "I'll go, but I won't have any fun."

Lacey smiles, "lets go sisters!"

Del's P.O.V.

"Lets go to the Curtis house! The Curtis house! The Curtis hooouuuse!" I sing loudly as I run through the house.

"Shut up before, we get caught," Dez hushes me.

"We're in a real foster home now, we have rights!" Ali rolls her eyes.

Dez jokingly pushes Ali, "will you shut it?"

"Never," Ali jokes as we walk outside hoping in Dez's truck.

"I have a car," Dez smiles as we speed away.

"Off to the Curtis house we go," I smirk. We pull into the driveway and I hop out before the car even stops bolting into the house.

I run right into Steve landing on my butt and he stares down at me, "little excited Delilah?"

I chuckle, "yea, I guess. Sorry."

"No need love," I shiver as he calls me love.

I choke out, "I-I thought we broke up."

He grabs my hand pulling me upstairs, "I have a surprise for you. Close you eyes." I stumble upstairs sitting on a bed. "Okay now open them."

My eyes open and I see a tons of pictures and notes hanging on the walls. There's also memories playing in the back ground. All I can do is gasp and squeal, "oh my gosh Steve!"

I turn to Steve to see him down on one knee holding out a small box with a small silver heart shaped necklace in it, "I love you too Delilah Winston and I was just wondering if you'd like to try again."

I answer him by kisses him passionately, "I would love to my love."

"I had this whole speech for you thinking it'd be way harder," he smiles pecking my lips.

I smirk, "well you could still give it."

"How 'bout I sum it up?" He asks and I nod happily. "I will stop loving you when an apple fruit grows on a mango tree on the 30th of February."

I let out a small laugh, "I love you too."

We walk happily down stairs, but to our surprise as we hit the bottom step a crying Daisy walks into the house from the back.

Daisy's P.O.V.

As I walk into the house, I look over at Sodapop, "we need to talk."

"O-okay," he stutters as we walk outside.

I sit there and just stare at him for about ten minutes before I start, "all I need to know is why."

"Why what?" He asks.

"Why aren't you in love with me? Am I not good enough?" I break down into tears

He grabs my hand, but I rip it away from him before he continues, "Daisy, please."

"No! You ruined everything Sodapop and I don't know if I could ever forgive you for this," I sob. "I can't eat, or sleep, or drink, or get up, or write, or sing, or be your friend anymore. I can't even smile and it's all your fault. What sucks the most is I hate myself so much because, I still love you even though you don't love me."

"I'm sorry," is all he says.

"If that's all you have to say then I give up," a few tears slide down my cheeks. "I give up on you, on me, on us." He goes to grab my waist, but I snap as I turn around, "DON'T SODAPOP! DON'T!"

"Da-" he starts.

"JUST DON'T SODAPOP! I DON'T CARE ANYMORE! Okay, just leave me alone. Please," I start with screaming by end in barely a whisper as I walk away tears streaming down my face back into the house.

"What's wrong?" Charlie waddles over to me.

I wrap my arms some what around her as I bury my face into her belly, "oh Charlie, this is it!"

"What? What is sweetie?" She asks. "What happened love?"

"Soda happened," Is all I say before sitting on the couch sobbing silently to myself.

Dally's P.O.V.

After a few hours everybody has gone home minus Charlie and I. I look over to her, "Ten months ago I met you and seven and a half we slept together. I love you with all my heart, Charlotte."

She pecks my lips, "I love you too Dallas."

A smile spreads across the face, "we're gonna start a family."

"We're gonna get the girls back too," she smiles sleepily.

"Are you tired?" I ask. She yawns nodding her head. "Well Darry said we could sleep here tonight.

"Wait," she mumbles. "I have to tell you something, but it's a secret."

I lean in to listen closely, "okay, go."

"The baby's not go-" she whispers softly until she falls asleep.

"The baby's not gonna what?" I ponder as I lay my head on a pillow falling into a deep slumber.

I wake up to a loud scream and look over to see Charlie holding her stomach screaming as tears stream down her face. I look down to see a puddle on the floor, "are you in labor? Did your water break?"

"Get Darry," she screams.

I rush upstairs bursting into Darry's room, "go get Soda and Pony! She's in labor!"

I run down stairs, "what were you saying about the baby before? What's wrong with it?"

"It's not gonna be healthy!" She screams. "It's too premature."

Soda, Pony, and Darry rush us into the car. As we drive away Soda whispers into my ear, "seven and a half ain't enough. Six weeks premature."

A tear slides down my cheek, "do Del and Daisy know?"

"Yea, but Daisy doesn't want to come," Darry speaks softly as we speed to the hospital.

Del's P.O.V.

I get a call in the middle of the night also waking Ali and Dez. I tiredly answer the phone, "hello?"

"Delilah?" A familiar voice screams through the phone.

"This is she," I yawn.

"Charlie's in labor," the voice screams. "It's Ponyboy!"

"Pone calm down," I hush him.

"Oo!" Ali squeals. "Can I talk to him?"

"Del, your little sister is gonna be born!" He screams.

"Here's Ali," I hand the phone to Ali rolling back into bed not remember a thing he said minus it's something about the baby.

"What was that about?" Dez asks.

"Something about Charlie," I roll over to go to sleep not even processing what Pony told me. "I think he said she's going into labor."

"She's going into labor!" Dez screams jumping up!

"What's with you?"I mumble.

Ali drops the phone running over to me and grabbing my shoulders shaking me awake, "your little sister Claire is about to be born six weeks early!"

"Oh shit!" I yell as I jump out of bed finally processing everything. "We gotta go!"

Daisy's P.O.V.

In the middle of the night we get a phone call and Lacey answers, "No, it's Lacey......Ponyboy?....Okay, calm down......No, don't worry, she'll be there.....we'll make her....Okay, she probably won't go.....I'll go though......Although, I have to the tell the gang some big news.....Okay....Mhmm....Love you....bye."

"What was that about?" I ask her curiously.

"Charlie is giving birth," she informs me.

I jump up out of bed, "we have to go...NOW!"

"You wanna go?" Lucy asks like I'm crazy.

I look at her weirdly, "she's gonna be my little sister, of course. I love her. Even if it means, seeing.....him."

Lacey smiles, "you really are a great sister considering, you cried yourself to sleep tonight and the only time you got out of bed was this morning. You're heartbroken."

"Think I don't know that?" I roll my eyes.

Lucy smiles, "lets go Daisy."

"I love you guys," I admit saying it for the first time.

"We love you too, but this isn't the time for mushy-gushy stuff," Lacey laughs as we rush out of the house.

Oh my god! I'm so sorry for the long wait for this chapter when it's not even that good, but I had finals, Chromebook exceptions, I saw my sibling for the first time in like three weeks today (step and married ones) It's just been such a chaotic week, but school is ending so there WILL be more updates and we're gonna get into my other book called, Just a Fling. Stay gold. Do it for Johnny!
