HABIT has a knife that traps the souls of all of his previous killings in it. The souls can communicate through the knife if they've been killed recently enough. While Evan is holding the knife, Jeff begins to speak to Evan, assuring him that he was dead because of HABIT, and that Evan shouldn't be so hard on himself. He stays with him every day and gives him little pep talks at the beginning of every day.

Until HABIT breaks the knife in two, releasing all of the souls.
