Chapter 14
"So how does this whole turning human thing and restoring my body work," Wilbur asked Quackity as a way to pass the time as the others left and a way to pass the time.
"I don't exactly know but I'm pretty sure you won't reincarnate like your family," Quackity said, "and if you're lucky you still have all the same powers that you did as a ghost, and without the risk of fading away."
Wilbur looked down at his hand and willed it to go invisible. He sighed when nothing happened. Quackity let out an excited laugh when his whole body disappeared.
"Your powers have increased exponentially," He laughed, "that's amazing man."
"Uh, thanks," Wilbur said as he slowly became visible again.
On the other side Tommy and Drista had crossed over and were running at high speed to the center of the vampiric camp.
"So what's our plan exactly," Tommy asked as they avoided rocks and trees.
"Let me do all the talking, I'll introduce you, and if your name doesn't ring any bells then you're my demon servant," Drista said.
"Servant!" he protested.
"The Count has plenty of demon and werewolf servants, it won't be out of the ordinary," Drista said, "I knew you weren't going to like it, I don't either, but there's nothing I can do about it." She stopped when they reached the camp. Hundreds of tents were set up with weapons spread across neatly on the ground.
"What are you doing here, demon, you're supposed to be in the overworld," A vampire growled from behind them.
"Excuse me," Drista raised an eyebrow, suddenly commanding attention, "what gives you the right to speak to us?"
"And who might you be little lady," he chuckled, leaning down to their level.
"Who I am can make the difference between you and your beheading," Drista clasped her hands behind her back and glared at him, "show me to your superior or my demon won't hesitate to make an example of you."
"Fine," he growled, "follow me." They followed him to the largest tent with a map laid out on the table and a vampire wearing a small half cape over his right shoulder, a sign of power given by the Count.
"What is it," The general growled without looking up.
"I am Lady Drista, on orders from my father, the Count," She said, then added without waiting for a response, "this is Tommy, a loyal demon to the council."
"Yes, I have heard of the great service you did," he shook Tommy's hand, "it's an honor to have such skilled minds like your own. Lady Drista, I am General Jschlatt, ready to serve."
"I have received new orders from the council that your men are to help fortify the manor, as important as the northern front is the protection of the Count and the information contained there is even more vital," Drista said, she played the part perfectly.
"Understood," Schlatt nodded, "I will have Captain Connor take 30 of my men back to the manor."
"Perfect," Drista said, hoping that 30 less could make the difference they needed, "the Count thanks you for your service. Now we must be going as we have a contact to meet with."
"Well, I hope to see you in my future Lady Drista," Schlatt bowed and Drista bowed her head in acknowledgement as they left.
"We might need a back up plan if this ceasefire doesn't work," Sapnap said to Quackity, Philza, and Wilbur, "do we have any ideas?"
"There's nothing they can do to stop a vampire army of that size, their night vision and speed are unmatched and can't be stopped," Phil said.
"What about fog," Quackity asked, his head perking up as an idea started to form.
"That might work but how could we just cause a fog down there," Phil said.
"I can conjure up a fog to cloud the vampire's eyes, but only the vampires and I won't be able to hold it long," Quackity said.
"What if I help, one of my powers include powering others, it would amplify your powers and make it last longer," Sapnap said, he didn't add that it would drain him immensely the longer he used the power.
"That just might work," Quackity said, "it's a good back up plan for when the sun sets."
"You might need it," Drista said from behind them, "I was only able to persuade the general to send 20 vampires back to the manor. I didn't order a ceasefire because it would have been too suspicious."
"Anything helps," Sapnap said, watching as the sun dipped behind the mountains, "I guess it's now or never."
"Now or never," Drista echoed, she looked around not seeing Clay anywhere, "where's Clay?"
"He mentioned something about trying to convince his league to abandon targets," Phil said, "It seemed important to him."
They watched as the vampires crossed over into the battlefield field, it was a visually smaller amount than before but still overwhelming for the other side. Quackity and Sapnap made their way down to the valley. A large fog drifted from where they were and dissipated, the only ones aware of it were Tommy and Drista.
"What's going on down there," Drista asked, she could hear the screams, the cries of agony, the battle cries, everything.
"I guess whatever Quackity's doing it's giving us the upper hand," Wilbur said, "I think we should go down there and help."
"Wilbur's right, we should help," Philza said, spreading the tent cloth over his wings and tying it like a cape, "Come on Will."
"We're blindsided like all the other demons and vampires," Drista said, "I don't like it but Tommy and I will stay here."
"I can go," Tommy hated being useless, "I've been practicing and I'm able to pinpoint thoughts to exactly where the creature is. I can make it work."
"But I thought you said you can't read vampires' minds," Drista said.
"I said I'll make it work," Tommy growled before leaping down, he didn't have time to explain to her everything. He had a battle to help fight, for the side he chose, not the one that was chosen for him.
Oh the next chapter is going to be a doozy. This battle is going to be big, in more ways than one. Hahahaha. Alright teasing over. Thanks all for reading and please vote and comment!
