Tommy lay on his bed, his head on his rough and uncomfortable pillow, staring at the top of his tent, in exile. He felt almost empty, other than one nagging feeling he had inside of him. Like it needed to be done, it had to or it would slowly break Tommy. He didn't feel like he could do anything but at the same time he definitely could do anything, he could do anything he pleased here. No rules, no parents, no people to nag at him about putting the nation in jeopardy. But still, he was missing something, he just didn't know what.

Was it the disks?

Probably, Tommy told himself.

Ghostbur sat beside him, holding Tommy's hand and rubbing it soothingly, trying to make the younger one feel better. Tommy wouldn't admit it but he appreciated it, and he cherished Ghostbur's visits a lot too. He would have liked to get a hug or something, but he didn't wanna bother the Ghost more than he already probably did.

Besides, Tommy himself couldn't deny that he looked like rubbish.

His face was muddy, he had bags under his eyes from restless nights of fighting off mobs and just never sleeping. His bright blue and lively eyes were now a dark shade of blue/gray and they were empty. Tommy's pretty golden hair that seemed so fluffy and beautiful was flat and mucky, making it look like a darker brown, plus it had grown out a lot so he had to tie it up. Problem was, Tommy didn't know how to tie a ponytail and instead of asking for help he made himself a small and messy bun.

Tommy's shirt was ripped in multiple places, one very noticeable hole in the middle of the fabric that revealed a big scar he had got when fighting a piglin in the nether. The bottom cuffs of his pants were scuffed and there were two holes where his knees were, not to mention he lost a shoe already and his other one had split the sole off the bottom of the shoe. He could fit his toe out of it just by wiggling his feet.

TommyInnit was one big mess.

"Wil?" Tommy spoke up but never averted his eyes from the makeshift roof. Still he grabbed Ghostbur's attention.

"Yes, Tommy? And p-please don't call me that, i'm-.. i'm not him.." Wilbur gave a soft smile, and held Tommy's hand tighter. He was happy Tommy was the one to start the conversation this time, usually he was the one who tried and failed.

Tommy nodded and apologized, although it was barely audible.

"Uhhm, what's it like being a ghost?" Tommy asked, not really thinking about the gravity of the question.

Ghostbur's smile fell flat for a second as he started to think. Tommy slowly tugged his hand away from Ghostbur's hand. He didn't want to let go but he was scared he maybe struck a nerve. Ghostbur gave Tommy's hand a little squeeze, not wanting the boy to let go, he really liked when Tommy showed affection and he didn't want him to stop.

"Well," Ghostbur smiled and turned to face Tommy. "What's it l-like being a hu-human?" He chuckled at his own joke and Tommy tried to force a smile for the other, he didn't wanna bring the Ghost's mood down.

"Being human is shit. You have emotions, and taxes, and bad people everywhere. At one point in the end, everyone dies anyways so it doesn't really matter does it?" Tommy laughed with no humor and seemed to focus more on the ceiling, his eyebrows furrowing as he thought deeply.

"I think I would make a good ghost.." he mumbled.

Ghostbur's eyes widened and he turned to face Tommy, "Bu-but I like Alive Tommy" he said, disappointment flooding his words. He was sad Tommy said that. He wanted Tommy to be happy with himself, and have a happy life. He didn't like sad Tommy.

A silence filled the room.

"Hey, Ghost, I forgot what L'Manberg looks like. Do you still have the photo?" Tommy finally took his eyes off the roof and looked Ghostbur straight in the eyes. Ghostbur's eyes sparkled and he nodded quickly.

"I'll go get 'em! W-wait right here, Tommy!" Ghostbur smiled and ran out the tent, finally letting go of Tommy's hand, letting it fall back onto the bed. Tommy sat up and stretched a bit, a burst of energy and excitement for what he was about to do.

He smiled dryly, looking at his now lonely hand. Now there was no one stopping him from walking straight into the portal.

Ghostbur giggled, holding the picture of L'Manberg tightly in his hands, he was so excited to show Tommy and make him happy again! He flew passed the trees as quickly as he could, watching them flash by him almost as splotches of color. Green trees, Red and Yellow flowers, Blue clear water pockets.

Maybe he could bring Tommy to this area one day!

Ghostbur arrived to Logstedshire very easily, gone for only seven or eight minutes. He walked over to Tommy's tent, tnret. "H-Hello?" Ghostbur opened the side of the tent and peeked his head into it. Huh. No Tommy, that's weird. Where did he go? Ghostbur left the tent and started yelling out the child's name, wandering around the planes searching for the boy. Where was he? Why couldn't he find him?

The Ghost started to panic, what if Tommy was kidnapped? Or hurt? Or in pain? O-Or worse-

There was a tap on his shoulder. Ghostbur turned around and immediately gasped, no no no, it can't be. He couldn't have, why would he..

. . .

"Hi..? I'm GhostInnit, wh-who are you? I need to find home.. P-please help me.."
