Finally, I arrived in the room. Creine and Penelope were still clinging to the edge and screaming. Now you may be wondering, well why didn't Creine and Penelope just use their magic? Because Creine has plant magic, and the Void has no plants. As for Penelope, she had already exhausted her magic forging the scooters together and levitating her phone to call me (because you can't exactly use one hand to call someone while the other one is keeping you from falling into a large hole).

Approaching the edge, I quickly bent down and reached out my hand, firmly grasping Penelope's arm. I was in the middle of pulling her up when I heard a sickening crack and I saw Creine scream as he began to fall from the now-broken ledge.

I didn't even have time to think about what I was doing. Throwing Penelope behind me, I summoned some pillows to break her fall against the cold stone floor. Then using my powers, I made a rope out of light and made it loop securely around Creine, breaking his fall. I pulled him up by the rope and set him down next to Penelope, the gravity of the situation suddenly becoming clear to me.

"Uhhhhh..." I tried to come up with an excuse, but my mind was overpowered by fear and nothing was working.

"...How did you manage to do that?" Creine asked me, still looking a bit shook. Screw it, let's just tell them the truth.

"I'M A SLERROK THAT CLAWED SOMEONE BUT THEY SURVIVED AND NOW I'M SORT OF HALF-HUMAN HALF-SLERROK BUT I STILL HAVE MY POWERS EVEN THOUGH THEY BECAME LIGHT! It's like a Band-aid, you just gotta rip it off!"

Penelope and Creine sat in stunned silence before me. As they absorbed the information I gave them, I mentally counted down. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..all hell broke loose.

"W-wh-w-WHAT THE HECKITY HECK 5 ABS AND ONE PECK?! Why didn't you tell us?!"

"How could I have been so stupid!? It was all right there!"

"Didn't you trust us!? Why would you do this!?"

"Your fangs, that one time I saw you with streaks of black hair, you cursing in that strange language I didn't know until I came here. You could've told us, and we would've been fine with it!"
