Sleeping troubles

I've been having troubles sleeping. I'm just gonna start with that.
So the problem is I get nightmares pretty often. They never come in a pattern and they sometimes come every night. I'm pretty sure the reason I have troubles is because I know that at some point I'll get another one, so maybe my sleeping trouble is because my body becomes restless until I will eventually almost pass out from lack of sleep.
Any ideas of how I could make myself go to sleep without having to exhaust myself to the point of passing out?
I'll litteraly try anything at this point

You probably don't care but thanks for reading anyways.
I most likely won't post on this very often. I might just post here when I have a problem or something I need to scream about.
