I'm actually really, really pleased the way this turned out like. I made this as a competition entry for @graphicsilly , or more specifically, @predileighction. The curve scheme and PAD are mine, and I'm pretty satsified the coloring looks psd-like (yes, I'm a photoshop wannabe :))
