Ch 1: The Thief
"THIS MEAT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!" I yelled with glee in the restaurant. I was on my way to Atlas city when I passed this small village. They said that the food was to die for. I believed them. I take another bite and enjoyed the flavor of the well cooked meat that overpowered my taste buds. This was about my 12th plate and everyone was watching me with widened eyes. "Keep staring and I'll blow you away." I threaten as I let a small portion of blood lust seep through. You can see they're terrified when they gasped and looked away. The waiter walked up and took the pile of empty plates. He came back shortly with the bill. "U-uh Sir I hope you can pay this." He gives me the bill and I look at it. 100 gold!!! That's a rip off!!!!
"I have the gold.... But before I pay, can I have a sandwich?" I asked the waiter. He gave an unrealistic look of disbelief that I can still eat. Walking away to get my sandwich, I noticed something strange about this town... Everyone seems protective about their food. I overheard some people talking at the next table.
Man: I heard that the thief broke into the bread shop again.
Woman: I heard that too.
Man 2: do you think it's a monster?
Man: it can't be! Monsters have no mind. They're just heartless beasts.
I had enough of their talking since they started talking about Lina Inverse as a monster. I conjure up a spell she taught me herself. "Explosion Array!" I sent them flying through the roof leaving behind a broken table, a caved in floor, and a hole in the roof. Feeling eyes on me, I turn around to find everyone staring again. "You want some too?" I asked teasingly, making a fire ball on my index finger. Fear struck their faces as they pled for forgiveness. "Then you should know that it's rude to pry!" I yell at them. A middle aged man stands up and speaks. "But weren't you prying on those three you just blew away?" He confronted. Everyone stood and started to shout agreements and telling me what I did was bad. "H-hold on just a second! They were bad mouthing Lina!" Everyone shut up and froze in fear. Uh oh....
"Lina? As in L-Lina I-Inverse?" A woman asked stuttering. I cautiously nod knowing what will happen yet. "Sir your sandwich is ready." The waiter came back with my sandwich and I payed the bill. I was going to take a bite when someone said "Get him!" I turned and ran out of the restaurant as fast as I can. Well this is a way to spend a Monday morning. Running from an angry mob with a sandwich in your mouth. Oh I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Alex Night, a apprentice sorcerer and swordsman. I have reddish brown hair, brown eyes. I shift to the left to avoid running into a house. I wear a black shirt with grey cape. I have a small bag that I wear around my waist. I have a short sword on my left side that is infused with magic. I also wear blue pants and black steel toed boots. I also wear black gauntlets.
"I had enough of this! Levitation!" I start to float of the ground and gain speed. This spell allows me to fly and go ten times faster than riding horse back. Not many sorcerers can use this spell since it takes a while to get use to it with practice.
I lost the mob after I flew out of town to a nearby forest. I settled down by an apple tree and continue eating my sandwich. I'm half way through and I decided that I want an apple. I get up and reach for one. As I reached for the juicy red fruit, I feel something tugging on my sandwich in my left hand. The sandwich gets swiped and the creature runs away. "Why you little-" I chase after the creature.
I managed to corner it near a tree mintues after the crime was committed. "Look here you little- dog?" Looking closely at the thief
I see that it's not human, but a werewolf pup. It shakes in fear as I got closer. It even had tears rolling down its cheeks when I picked it up. "Hey, don't cry." I try to calm the puppy down. "Just give me my sandwich back and I'll leave you alone." It looks at the sandwich, then me, then back to the sandwich. Without warning, it swallowed the sandwich whole. Leaving me starstruck and my mouth ajar. "M-my s-sandwich.... Why you little!" Before I can do anything, a demon I have not seen before jumps out from the bushes.
"You'll be just perfect for me to let out some steam." I start to conjure up a fireball. "Fireball!" I threw it at the demon incinerating it till it was burnt. It laid in the newly made crater.
I look back at the pup. "You'll be coming with me." I pick the puppy up and head back on the road for Atlas city.
