Thirty-Four

"Seokjin and I are getting married."

Taehyung spat out his wine, and Yoongi's glass dropped to the floor. The statement had caught everyone in the room by surprise, except for Namjoon.

Jungkook snarled, "What's with all the show?"

"I'm sorry, but did you just announce that you're getting married?" Taehyung inquired as he wiped his lips and set his glass down on the table.

"Have you lost part of your hearing?"

"No, I'm simply shocked, but congrats to you, my King," Taehyung shook his head and said.

"Fuck off!" Jungkook spat at him, turning his attention to Yoongi, who had been silent, "Yoongi, what are your thoughts on what I've announced? What's wrong with you that you're surprised?"

"There is nothing wrong," said Yoongi, clearing his throat as he gazed at the King. "You'd be better off with Seokjin at your side."

"But?" Jungkook questioned, knowing Yoongi very well.

"I don't want to go too far, but has Seokjin consented to marry you?"

Namjoon and Taehyung exchanged a giggle, which prompted Jungkook to question, "what would make you believe he hasn't?"

"The fact that you're making an announcement suggests that he's consented to be married. Glad to hear things are going well for you and him. I hope they continue to do so."

When Jungkook rose and sailed the wine bottle across the room, not one of them seemed bothered. They were used to his actions and only glanced at one another as they watched him pace around the room.

"He doesn't want to marry me."

"Okay, it makes more sense now." Taehyung lets loose with no qualms.

"Don't let me make you a widower!" Jungkook scowled at him.

"Are you envious because my proposal was accepted and yours was rejected?" Taehyung said with a smirk.

"My gut tells me he didn't propose. I'm sure he informed Seokjin they're getting married." Yoongi spoke very knowingly.

"Yep, he did just that." Inhaling deeply from his wine glass, Namjoon expresses his thoughts.

The remarks upset Jungkook. "What does it matter whether I ask or tell him?" he spat back. "It doesn't matter whether he wants to marry me or not; the important thing is that he will. Yoongi and Taehyung, you will do all in your power to make his parents feel at home in the Kingdom. Though I'd want to keep them around for a while, I don't want to tell Seokjin that I'm thinking about it. He has to see me for who I am, not for what I can do for his parents. Namjoon, you'll continue to collaborate with me on matters on other vital issues. Does everyone understand?"

All three nodded their heads, "yes."

"Good. Now, on to more important things. The rumor has it that Prince Jimin would seek my approval to marry you, Yoongi. Is this something you're aware of?"

Yoongi's face became red as all eyes turned to him, "yes, my King, I am aware."

"So you'd want to marry him, right? I don't want to give my approval to anything you don't agree with. Prince Jimin is a real pain in the neck. So I must understand your thoughts around this."

"It would be an honor for me to marry your brother, my King," Yoongi said with a nod.

He rolled his eyes and said, "No need to be so formal; I will approve it once he comes to me solely in your favor. But are you sure there isn't someone else in the Kingdom you'd rather marry?"

"Jungkook, there is no one else."

"Are you sure? No one else keeps the opposite side of your bed warm at night?" asks Jungkook, lifting an eyebrow at Yoongi.

"No-"

"Leave him alone, Jungkook. Not everyone needs the services of many guys to meet their needs. You should be aware that he solely has eyes for Jimin." Taehyung chimes in very well, knowing what Jungkook was doing.

After giving Taehyung a stern look, Jungkook turned his gaze to Yoongi and said, "Fine, I know Yoongi isn't like that, but I have to be sure. Although Jimin is a spoiled brat, he is my brother; I need to make sure who he is marrying deserves him. However, I am glad that man is Yoongi."

"Thank you for your kind words. Could I proceed with planning my proposal to Jimin now that you've given your approval for our relationship? Now that you've brought it up, I was thinking, that I could ask for his hand in marriage with your blessing as a surprise?"

Jungkook nodded, "Yeah, do anything you want. It doesn't matter to me. Also, it would be great if you and he were married first before Seokjin and I started planning ours. When it comes to planning our wedding, I'm going to require a lot of help, so I don't need you to be preoccupied with anything at that time."

"May I ask when you are planning your wedding with Seokjin?"

"I don't know; what kind of proposal are you planning for Jimin? Actually, Taehyung, you did something fancy for that husband of yours; what was it again? Wait, forget it, I already told Seokjin we were getting married. If I propose, he may believe he has a yes-or-no decision, but he doesn't, so that proposal will be pointless."

Yoongi gazed out the window while Namjoon rubbed the back of his head. Taehyung shook his head. All three of them did not utter a word.

"You guys disagree?"

"Fuck it," Taehyung states as he doesn't give a damn, "If you want him to marry you, I believe you should propose him. Yes or no should be left up to him. It's a huge thing when someone gets married. It's a whole different experience than you're accustomed to. I am happy you have discovered someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. However, I believe it's equally crucial for you to ensure that person wants to spend the rest of their life with you and commit to just you-"

"You think Seokjin wants to cheat on me?"

"That's not what he's saying; why do you have to think like that? Share your emotions with Seokjin and then propose, I believe my brother is saying."

"I told him how I felt, and he still refused, so you and your brother are fucking stupid because that crap doesn't work."

"I know you do things differently from the rest of us; I'm probably certain you didn't regularly express your sentiments. Considering how you treated Jin when he initially came, I suspect he'll have a hard time reciprocating your affections." Yoongi says, sharing his truth with Jungkook.

"Keep your mouth shut; you have no idea what Seokjin and I have going on. His concern for me is equal to my concern for him."

"Does Seokjin desire the responsibility of becoming a stepparent to so many kids, given that you have so many?" When Taehyung inquired, Yoongi rubbed his shoulders and grinned quietly.

Jungkook stood up, "this conversation is over; you all have a job to do. Make sure you get to it. Namjoon, come with me, we have matters to discuss. Yoongi, I hope my brother tells you no."

"Thank you very much, my King," Yoongi responded with a smile knowing the King meant him well.

In his slumber, Jin was awakened by the sensation of arms around him and bringing him near. When his eyes first opened, he checked to see whether Moon was still curled up next to him, and she was. "Please stop the motions; you will awaken Moon," he pleaded as he tilted his head slightly to face the King.

To switch on the lights, Jungkook clapped his hands and pulled away from Jin, sitting up on the bed, "why is she in our bed and not in her crib?"

"I felt safer having her sleep next to me," Jin says as he tries to sit up slowly, not wanting to wake Moon.

"Seokjin, for the past week, where have I told you the safest place is for Moon to sleep?" Jungkook said as he rubbed his fingers on his cheek.

"In her crib." Jin lets out with a pout.

"Why did I say her crib is the safest?"

"Because the chances of me rolling on her or her falling from the bed are less."

"Okay, so tell me why she's back in our bed?" he demanded.

Jin sighed and rose from his bed, lifting Moon in his arms and placing her in her crib without saying anything to Jungkook. When he saw Jungkook glaring at him, he scowled at him and said, "Are you pleased?"

"Seokjin, please do not be rude to me. Although Moon is your first child, I am a parent with a lot more experience than you are when it comes to children. All of this information is being provided just for your benefit! You've got a listening issue that you're not aware of. Not only that but sleeping in the same bed with us all the time isn't good for Moon either. Her stay in our room is temporary, as I've previously made that clear."

When Jin saw the King's expression, he rolled his eyes and climbed back into bed, covering himself with his blanket and facing away from him.

"Has it been that long since your last punishment?"

Jin turned to face the King, "what did I do now?"

"You're giving me an attitude that's unwarranted, Seokjin. I know you think our daughter is a doll, but she is not; you can't keep her attached to you all the time the way you are doing every day. It's not healthy for her."

It took Jin a while to recover from Jungkook's words. "I don't believe you grasp it," he said. "You caused our daughter to arrive early, almost killing her! What passes through my head every time I look at her, I'm sure you don't comprehend. Everyone else was able to hold their newborn baby immediately, but not me.

My biggest fear is that this will be the last time I hold her if anything goes wrong with her. Every day, I live in fear. She seems to be doing okay, but I'm not sure. You have no clue what's going through my head, so please don't speak to me in such a manner like I am an idiot. I know she is not a doll; she is my daughter! Also, in case you don't realize it, you are what is not healthy for her."

Jungkook closed his eyes, then he sat down on the bed, reaching his hand towards Jin and pulling him towards him, "I think you should see a therapist. It's conceivable you're dealing with postpartum depression."

"Are you seeing one too?" Jin asked with a sniffle as he tried to wipe his eyes.

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, "you think I need to see a therapist?"

"I don't know what you need. I think you need to understand that other people matter in this world and not only yourself."

"I do know this, Seokjin; why do you think I don't?"

"You murdered that lady with the knowledge that she had a kid who was dependent on her; that youngster is now without a parent and is having a difficult time. I don't believe you understand that other people's lives are as important as your own."

Jungkook pressed his forehead against Jin's, "what she did to me was wrong-"

"No, what Jimin did was wrong; she only followed the orders she was given. You also didn't kill her because she was deserving of death. You murdered her solely because you were furious with me. You did a superb job in making the point that you are the big terrible King, and I don't think I can see you as anything else."

"Don't say that Seokjin, I am much more than that. Back then, I didn't see myself loving or caring for you the way I do now. Can you not use my past against me?"

"Jungkook, you haven't changed in the slightest. Five seconds earlier, you were about to punish me."

"That's because you made me upset."

"In my opinion, you should get treatment from a mental health professional like a psychiatrist."

"Do you think I'm crazy?"

Jin sighed, "I don't know what you are; I just know you are not exactly sane, and I don't know what makes you the way that you are."

"These things are easy for you to tell me, but I can't go to a psych. They wouldn't understand me. I am different from others, Seokjin, I am King, they aren't going to understand anything. Also, I am already aware that I have an anger management issue."

"I know you're a King, but what about that won't make sense to them? You are just like any other human being; a King is just a title you carry. Isn't it a good idea to have a professional counselor at your side that can help you with the issues you have?" Jin stared at the King, confused.

Taking a step back from Jin, Jungkook said, "My father is not the man you believe him to be, Seokjin. Counselors or whatever can't assist me with anything because I have to keep it all within. Do you not get that?"
