Samael

Samael predicted that if he fell now he could escape Kritanta in the pouring rain, unnoticed and hide for another day. Samael was smart enough to know that one should land on their feet when falling and the best way to fall is by a PLF, a parachute landing fall. Though he has never done one before, now is a time better than any to try. Samael let go and twisted himself to face the road as he fell 18 mile per hour. He would have to roll and rolling into the building would be a fools task. With his feet together, he made contact with the ground and fell to his side, the grund hitting his left calf, thigh, upper torso and shoulder. As he rolled over and his right leg and torso hit the ground all he could feel was pain. That was normal. He should have felt pain all over his body but something went wrong. His left leg was on fire as rain poured down on him.

It was broken.

He wouldn't be able to walk on it for a while and that meant he would have to get it fixed, but that was the least of his problems. He was an assassin who would be killed by an assassin if he didn't move now.

Samael took a deep breath, clenched his teeth and got up utilizing his right leg. He shook with pain, but trend on toward the building he fell off of. It was a house and he leaned upon it for support.

Surveying his environment Samael spotted an office building. It lights off like the rest of the building in the street. It was a good hiding spot for now. If not for the rain, then from Kritanta. He just needed to get there without sound.

Samael limped over to the empty office building. It was dark just like the night and had a lot of windows. Samael grabbed the golden handle and pulled the glass door towards him. Hopping through the door it closed behind him, letting him leave the rain and Kritanta.

Samael walks through the empty office building. Cubicles and their fake walls are like a maze in the building. He sits down on a rolling desk chair and looks at his pulsating left leg. It hurt so much.

The door opened. Boots walked in.

Samael frose, no one should be awake right now. He listened carefully, not daring to move or breathe. This might just be someone coming back to get something they had left. But why hadn't they turned in the light yet? And why are they walking so slowly?

The boots stopped. Samael guesses that whoever walked in was looking around for something. A flashlight came on and went to the ground or the person's hand because it quickly swinked. The boots started moving again. Each step getting closer towards him. slowly echoing at him. Like a predictor plodding to its prey. Stalking it to its death.

Samael tried to distract himself from the person wearing boots and went to bandage his leg. It hurt and consatning felt like knives were starving it, but his fear and/or adrenaline booked it out. The pain was slowly coming back...just like the boots.

Then he noticed something. What the person was looking for, who they were, and what they were trailing.

Him.

Kritanta.

Blood.

Before Kritanta looked inside the cubicle where she believed Samael was hiding he dissipated once again.

An angry cry forced itself out of her, "I'll get you, Samael!" She spit his name like poison. Kritanta had heard her target fall and had followed his trail of crimson mercury to the empty office building.

The guy was a complete wreck, making so many mistakes in his way and being loud enough to wake the street. It annoyed her how long he had drawn this out. She wished that he would just die already.
