(Oakfrost^)(Short chapter)

Mud's pov

I wake up to the burning in my tail, i turn and lick the tip, grimacing at the burn taste, i take my time grooming my tail before facing the burnt forest, i can hear the Twoleg monsters working and i roll my eyes, of course Twolegs caused this.

I glance at Tigerpaw, his fur is more of a mist grey at the moment, i'm guessing caused by ashes, i glance at Shellpaw, Mothpaw, Featherpaw, Furrpaw, Willowpaw, and Nutpaw, the apprentices curled together. Last night Starlingpaw had died from breathing to much smoke.

I sigh as everyone slowly wakes up and drinks, i realize my own thirst and go to the water, it feels cold on my throat as it gets rid of the smoke feeling in my body. I look up as we start to move, i sigh and walk after Gingerfang.

We walk slowly, some of us injured and others just plain tired, i glance at the apprentice group, Furrpaw walks between Willowpaw and Nutpaw, constantly glancing back at the dead body of Starlingpaw.

Riverleopard could be seen sitting on a branch, from the ashes that fell off, i could tell she's just the right weight for it to not break. She jumps down and walks beside Emberstar, nuzzling him softly, i snicker along with some other warriors at the two.

We walk for a long time, Lakestripe would come over every once and awhile but besides that i'm alone, finally we stop. I glance around to see we're in a new forest, or, at least a part of the forest i haven't seen. It seems that the fire didn't make it to this place.

I sigh and curl up by myself when i see white paws, i look up to see Willowpaw, she looks surprised for a moment before smiling nervously, eyes closed, ears and head tilted slightly in a friendly way.

I smile back softly and she lays next to me, i rest my head on my paws again, the warmth of Willowpaw next to me making me more comfortable, with a small smile i fall asleep.
