a fight between light and dark
I thrust my hips up and wrapped my legs around Harvey's neck. Then I gathered my strength and jerked my legs down. Harvey's eyes widened but the next moment his head hit the floor and I wiped over my bloody face with the back of my hand.
Despite the pain and dizziness I jumped up in a flash and blinked away the blood running into my eyes.
Harvey straightened up again and out of the corner of my eye I saw Tanja sneak up behind him with one of the rifles and aim at him.
Although I had moved into fighting position something about me had betrayed Harvey that the danger was coming from behind and not from me, because when Tanja was in range he whirled around wrestled the rifle from her and pulled the trigger.
Tanja looked to me with a shocked expression before vanishing into thin air. Leaving only the Anzati and me.
With the rifle in his arms he turned to me with a grin and aimed at my head. Thanks to my well-trained reflexes I jumped off in time somersaulted and landed behind Harvey. He spun around but I was faster. While he was spinning I hit the hand holding the rifle to make him drop it and at the same time kicked him in the back of the knee causing his leg to immediately give way and drop him to one knee. With the back of my hand I gave him a slap and immediately followed it up with a fist.
Before he could recover I hurled Harvey with a force kick against the tree that stood on the lakeshore.
He hit the ground and got up but too quickly he rushed at me again.
I would not be able to endure this for much longer.... Even if I tried to fade out the pain it made me weaker with every second.
Without me noticing Harvey grabbed my injured shoulder so that I cried out and only noticed that I was standing with my back pressed against the tree, when he rammed his clenched fist into my stomach and the rough bark bored into my back but that was nothing compared to the pain in my stomach when Harvey let his fist whiz down on me. Through the delirium that followed I was aware of a cracking sound and a tightening in my chest was the result. Breathing became increasingly difficult and a metallic taste prepared itself in my mouth.
The former student of the Chosen One would die in a simulation instead of on the battlefield. What irony...
I prayed that Anakin couldn't see this that he couldn't see me die.... But I knew Harvey was right. Anakin saw it. He could see that I had given up. How pitifully I had fought...
And I would not give a damn that these would be his last memories of me.
Harvey already had to hold me down so I wouldn't fall forward but he didn't stop punching me. I gathered my last strength and braced myself against him with an iron will. He didn't expect that anymore so it was easier than I thought to just let me fall against him and send us into the lake.
Ignoring the pain that nearly sent me into unconsciousness I grabbed the stunned Harvey by the collar and pushed his head under the water.
He tried to kick me, hit me, anything to escape my grip but I did not retreat an inch. His resistance slowly died and the last bit of strength left me. I still managed to pull Harvey up and push him towards the shore leaving him stranded there face up. I didn't want to kill him so if he was lucky he would wake up right away but I guess I didn't have that luck anymore.
My legs gave way and I dove into the water which was stained red by my blood.
The last thing I saw were the air bubbles that stole out of my half-opened lips and made their way like little red drops to the increasingly dark surface.
