AU: In this AU, everyone is colorblind. Well, that is until they meet their soulmate. When they meet their soulmate they are able to see color and if something bad happens to their soulmate (death) they loose the ability to see colors.

Max's Pov

Wake up to another dull morning of black, white, and grey. My parents tell me how good it is to see color. How my hair is red, my necklace is yellow. They tell me all these things but I don't understand. They've been able to see in color for so long it's almost as if they forget I can't see it.

I walk in the bathroom with the clothes my parents put out and get those on. They always choose my clothes so I can look nice incase I meet them, or in this case, color coordinated. Whatever that means...

"Max, you ready?" I hear my mom yell from downstairs.

"Yes Mom, I'll be down in a second!" I reply, my voice louder than it should be.

As I walk through the school gates I see my friends. Adam and Alesa sitting close together as well as Barney and Red. They discovered that they were soulmates last year. Me and Megan (Shelby) are still single. We talk for a bit and start to head to class.

~In class~

Math is sooooooo boring! We are learning about this weird thing called trigonometry, or Trig for short. I still wonder why we have to learn this stuff, it's literally math about triangles. Who even needs this?! I mean seriously, even our teacher, Mrs. Cherry, looks bored. She turns away from the board amd looks at the clock behind us.

"Okay class, we have 10 mimutes left! Since the lesson is over, you may talk amongst yourselves." Mrs. Cherry says.

This is why I like this teacher, she teaches a boring class but lets us have fun every once in a while. I feel something poke my back.

"Hey Max!" Red says.

"Hey Red, what's up?" I reply

"Not much surprisingly. No, I heard there was a new kid joining today." He says

"Oh really?" I asked

"Yup Shelby told me. She said it was her cousin. I forgot their name though."

~Time skip to lunch~

"Hey Max! Over here!" Adam says while waving his arms. Why do I choose to sit with these idiots. I don't mind them it's just that we sit so far away from the door that I should earn gym credits.

Once I finally get over their, I see this boy with short, curly hair standing behind Shelby.

"Max, this is Ross" Shelby states I look at boy with the squirrel sweater and notice something. Everything looks different. Everything has...color!
Is-is he my soulmate? He has to be! Suddenly he runs up to me and hugs me. I immediately hug back, god he's so fucking adorable...

"Do you two know each other?" Jess asks. Suddenly, it clicks. Then she starts freaking out. Oh god.

"Oh my god I ship it so hard omdhdjdjdbfjkdn!!!" She screams. My god I'm pretty I'm deaf now. But that doesn't matter, what matters is tha-

"Max, I'm so happy I finally found you..." He whispers to me. God can he get any cuter! I doubt it-

"Hey Max?"

"Yes Ross?"

"I love you..." He says. I stand corrected

"I love you too"
