Progress-Ch 17
The news we receive was good, I guess.
They told us that Lizzie was progressing well and that there was a slightly higher chance of her waking up before the four months is over.
However, a slightly higher chance isn't good enough for me. Before I met Adam, Beth, and Adam's friends, Lizzie was really the only good friend I had.
I don't know what I would do....if she died.
I sigh as we arrive at Lizzie's hospital room.
I walk in and Lizzie is still hooked up to the same machines as before, in the same position as before.
Today Ross had decided to stay in the waiting room. I don't blame him though, we have been here so much since we arrived in England that this hospital room is starting to feel like a normal place in my life.
I walk over to Lizzie and stare down at her, as Beth and Adam grab chairs from the corner of the hospital room.
I started to tear up as I looked at her. I then felt two arms wrap around my waist, hugging be from behind.
I turn around to see Adam and I smile weakly at him, trying to convince him that I was fine.
I guess it didn't work.
"Jess...you don't have to fake a smile, I know you're hurting...but don't worry, ok? I'm positive that she will make it through this, and if there is even the slightest chance that she doesn't, you'll still have me, Beth, Ross, John, and the others."
I nod at him "Thanks, and I promise that from now on, I will only have genuine smiles. Not fake ones." I said as I chuckle to him and he pecks my cheek.
We stay for a little while longer, talking about, and to Lizzie before we decide to go back to the hotel.
We take Ross from the waiting room on the way out and make our way back to the hotel.
Time Skip
We made it back to the hotel a while ago, Beth and I were in our room and Adam and Ross were in theirs.
Beth was already asleep and I was having trouble sleeping so I decided to write.
Dear Lizzie,
It's been two weeks now and you still haven't woken up. We visit you almost every day. Your heart rate seems to skip whenever we walk into the room. It's like you know we're there, I'm sure you do.
But I'm starting to worry. I know you wouldn't want me to but I can't help it. What if you don't wake up.
Lizzie, promise me something, promise me that you'll wake up. Please?
You're Best,
Aph
I sigh as I close my journal and stick it inside the bedside table drawer.
I seem to have no trouble falling asleep after that. I feel my eye lids begin to droop and soon enough, I'm consumed by the darkness.
