Skyler couldn't believe it. Jessica. She was sitting by Jessica. This isn't going to end well. She is always on her phone and when she's not looking at it, she's looking at me with the 'stink eye'. Skyler thought. "Ok class, today," Mrs. Gartner said, "we are going to be doing a team effort project. Sadly, you get to chose your project animal. Why sadly you ask? Well, it's because I can't send all of you guys to chose your animal at once! I will draw names from this hat and when your name is called, you and your partner can come up and get your animal. Questions?" Nobody raised their hand. "Ok. First name is................................... Skyler." Skyler stood in shock. First name already? Wow. Shocked. "Is there a Skyler in this class?" Mrs. Gartner said. Skyler and Jessica stood up. They walked over to the animals. Jessica was reaching for what looked like a poodle. Skyler grabbed what she was sure was an orange tabby house kitten. Jessica saw Skyler head back to the table, so she followed. "What animal did you grab? A frog? A spider? Or even worse, a squirrel?!" Jessica said with a worried voice. "Actually," Skyler corrected, "no. I grabbed an orange tabby house kitten." Jessica looked disgusted. Skyler could tell that with Jessica as her partner, this was going to be a difficult project.
