Skylar's POV

Katara and I were placed in the crystal catacombs by the Dai Li. Who seem have teamed up with Azula to take over the Earth Kingdom. Well Ba Sing Se. We've been down here all night. We've tried to find a way out. But no luck so far. We slept near where they had dropped us. Taking turns keeping watch.

I wake to the sound of the roof opening. "You both have company" I hear one of the Dai Li say. I then hear a familiar scream.

"Zuko!" Katara exclaims. I shot up and rush over hugging him. As he sits up.

"I was so worried about you and Iroh" I tell him.

"We're ok Sky, my uncle got away" he tells me.

"Snow got away too and Momo. I'm sure we'll be rescued soon" I state smiling.

"Skylar" Katara says shocked.

"I told you, he's changed Katara" I remind her. As Zuko and I get to our feet. "Besides, now we have an extra pair of eyes. He can help us find a way out" I state.

(Gaang house) Third Persons POV

Aang, Toph and Sokka arrive on Appa. They enter and are greeted by Momo & Snow. "Momo, Snow!" Aang cheers.

"There's no one here" Toph tells the boys.

"Katara is in trouble! I knew it!" Aang exclaims. "With Snow here, Skylar must be in trouble too" he adds. Snow roars nodding her head.

"Oh no" Sokka says.

"Wait, there's someone at the door" Toph states pointing to it. There's a knock at the door. "Actually, I know who it is. It's an old friend of mine" she states opening it to reveal Iroh. "Glad to see you're okay" she tells him.

"I need you help" Iroh states. Snow greets him with a chuff nuzzling him. He smiles patting her head. As Aang asks how Toph knows Iroh.

"I met him in the woods once and knocked him down. Then he gave me some tea and some very good advice" Toph explains. Iroh smiles sheepishly.

"May I come in?" he asks and Toph nods. He enters the room and turns to face them. "Princess Azula is here in Ba Sing Se" he states.

"She must have Katara" Aang states.

"She has captured my nephew as well and Skylar I fear" Iroh states. Snow whines nodding her head.

"Then we'll work together to fight Azula, and save Katara, SKylar. and Zuko" Aang declares. Sokka was no thrilled by the idea, but agrees and together they interrogate the Dai Li agent Iroh had caught. They then spilt up. Aang went with Iroh to save their friends. While Sokka and Toph went to warn the Earth King of Azula' coup.

(Catacombs) Skylar's POV

"Why did they throw you in here? Oh, wait, let me guess. It's a trap. So that when Aang shows up to help me, you can finally have him in your little Fire Nation clutches!" Katara snaps. I glare at her while Zuko remains silent. "You're a terrible person! You know that? Always following us! Hunting the Avatar! Trying to capture the world's last hope for peace! But what do you care? You're the Fire Lord's son. Spreading war and violence and hatred is in your blood!" she rants.

"Katara!" I snap glaring at her.

"You don't know what you're talking about" Zuko tells her calmly.

"I don't? How dare you! You have no idea what this war has put me through! Me personally! The Fire Nation took my mother away from me" she says as she begins to cry touching her mother's necklace.

"I'm sorry" he tells her. As I rub her back as she sobs. "That's something we have in common" he states. She looks at him surprised, wiping her tear away. We all remain silent.

(Mini time skip)

I nudge Katara and nod at Zuko. She sighs turns to Zuko. "I'm sorry I yelled at you before" she tells him.

"It doesn't matter" he tells her.

"It's just that for so long now, whenever I would imagine the face of the enemy, it was your face" Katara tells him.

"My face, I see" he says touching his scar. I take his hand in mine.

"No, no, that's-that's not what I mean" Katara tells him.

"It's okay. I used to think this scar marked me. The mark of the banished prince, cursed to chase the Avatar forever. But lately, I've realized I'm free to determine my own destiny, even if I'll never be free of my mark" Zuko explains. Squeezing my hand.

"Maybe you could be free of it" Katara tells him.

"What?" he asks confused.

"I have healing abilities" she states.

"Katara, not even you can heal a scar" I tell her.

"It can't be healed" Zuko adds. Katara holds up a vial showing it to us. As she stands in front of us.

"This is water from the Spirit Oasis at the North Pole. It has special properties, so I've been saving it for something important" she states. She touches his scar gently. "I don't know if it would work, but ..." she says. I smile, glad they are getting along.

Suddenly a hole is blasted into the wall. We turn to see Aang and Iroh. Katara shouts Aang's name. As I shout it and Iroh's. Katara and I hug Aang. While Iroh hugs Zuko. I then hug him.

"Uncle, I don't understand. What are you doing with the Avatar?" Zuko asks confused.

"Saving you, that's what" Aang tells him. Zuko growls and takes one confrontational step in Aang's direction, but Iroh stops him. I look at them warily.

"Zuko, it's time we talked" Iroh tells him and then looks at us. "Go help you other friends. We'll catch up with you" he tells us. We start to leave. I was reluctant, but I know Zuko and Iroh needed to have this talk in private without Aang or Katara around. Besides I want to check on Snow and the others. I looked back at Zuko, catching his eyes and give him a brief smile before disappearing from his sight.

We run through the catacombs. We soon reach a water way. "We've got to find Sokka and Toph" Katara tells us. We nod our heads in agreement.

"Fire ball!" I shout as I felt one heading our way. Aang blocks the blue fire with a wall of Earth.  Katara uses water-bending to stop another attack, then sends a wave crashing toward Azula, who vaporizes the water with fire-bending. The mist from the vaporized water allows Azula to jump onto a crystal and firebend two blasts of blue fire.

Together, Aang and Katara use waterbending to stop the blasts. Then I send a jet of air her way, breaking the crystal she was standing on. Azula jumps onto a rock pillar, avoiding the blast as the crystal breaks. Aang uses earthbending on the pillar, and Azula gasps once she notices the pillar crumbling. She jumps off and lands between Katara and Aang. She points at both of them, preparing to attack or defend herself.

When suddenly an orange fire blast lands in the middle of the standoff. We look to see the source of the fire blast to be Zuko. Zuko looks from Azula to Katara and Aang, choosing who to attack. He looks at me and I give him a pleading look to side with us.

But when he looks at Azula, she is glaring back at him. He then looks at Aang, who gasps once he realizes Zuko will attack him. Zuko fire-bends at him, and Aang uses air-bending to jump away from the blast. As I deflect it with a gust of my own. Azula smiles at this and starts dueling with Katara, and Zuko furiously throws multiple fire blasts at Aang. I join Katara, knowing she can't take on Azula alone. Praying Zuko will change his mind, knowing I could never hurt him.

I didn't watch Zuko and Aang's fight. Knowing a lapse in concentration in facing Azula, could lead to my death. Or Katara's or Aang's. Katara and I work as a team, protecting each other. Taking turns attacking Azula. Katara managed to cut some of Azula's hair. But we're still nowhere close in catching her.

Katara water-bends at Azula, knocking her down. Azula slowly gets back up into a fighting stance as Katara encases herself in water. One water tentacle captures Azula's hand as she struggles to attack her, and another one captures her foot after another failed attack. Katara then lifts Azula up, who yells in fear. I smile, we may actually win.

I thought to soon. Zuko used his fire bending to break Katara's water tentacles. Azula gets up and briefly smiles at Zuko in gratitude, then looks toward the crater Aang had created with the stalactite. Aang crawls out, exhausted. Azula runs toward Aang. "No Aang! Look out!" I shout.

"I thought you had changed!" Katara yells at Zuko.

"I have changed" he states.

"Zuko, please listen to your heart. You don't want this" I tell him and he creates two fire whips. As tears appear in my eyes. I stand in front of Katara making a tornado of air whip around me. "Don't make me do this Zuko" I plead. But my pleas go unanswered as he attacks me. I defend myself. "Go help Aang!" I shout at Katara.

"You can't take him alone!" she shouts.

"Neither can Aang take Azula along!" I snap. "Go!" I shout as I send Zuko into a wall. He groans in pain. Suddenly I'm hit by a fire blast from Azula and scream as I ram into a crystal.

"Skylar!" Katara shouts as I lay on the floor groaning in pain. I see the Dai Li arrive and go up slowly holding my side. Katara uses the octopus form to defend us. I see Aang make a crystal tent around himself. I hope he has an idea on how to get out of here. We're out numbered. A dozen to one.

"Zuko, please" I plead looking at him. But her doesn't lower his arms or falter. Azula smirks triumphantly. "I take the right, you left" I tell Katara and she nods her head. I send a huge gust of wind at the Dai Li on the right, knocking half of them off of their feet. As Katara lashes out at the one's on our left.

When suddenly a bright light fills the room. We turn to see the crystal tent Aang is in, glowing. Has he entered the avatar state? Suddenly a beam of light shoots from it and Aang appears in the avatar state. The wind whipping wildly around us. Katara and I smile up at him in relief. When suddenly he is electrocuted from behind by Azula.

"Aang!" I shout making an air scooter. I race towards him. Katara ahead surfing a giant wave she'd created. The wave knocks down the Dai Li agents and Zuko. She catches Aang. I kneel beside them tears in my eyes. "No Aang, you can't be dead!" I cry.

Suddenly a fire blast blocks Zuko and Azula. "You've got to get out of here! I'll hold them off as long as I can!" he shouts at us.

"No, I'll help you!" I snap. "Katara, get Aang out of here now! Take care of him and Snow for me" I tell her as I make air blades as I stand by Iroh. He looked like he wanted to argue. But he knew we didn't have time for that.

Katara walks away slowly with Aang's body to a waterfall, and she uses water-bending to lift herself and Aang's body up its path. Iroh  and Ihold off the Dai Li agents, taking blows of earth-bending. Until after Aang and Katara leave. Iroh then submits to the Dai Li, who use earth-bending to encase him in crystals. But I wasn't surrendering without a fight.

They send rock gloves my way. I blast them away. I whip around and send a powerful gust of air their way. Then make an air scooter to avoid a fire blast from Azula. "You'll have to be quicker then that" I tell her as I zoom around. Making a tornado around the Dai Li agents. But I forgot about Zuko and he tackles me to the ground. "No let me go!" I scream.

"I'm sorry" he whispers in my ear as the Dai Li and Azula approach us. The Dai Li restraint me, so that I can't move.

"Well done brother, father will be proud" Azula tells him. As silent tears run down my cheeks. Refusing to look at Zuko. Praying the others got away safely.
