Chapter 9
Sky's pov
Looks like we're going to be separate for now. I really hope they stay safe, but I need to worry about myself. I'm by myself so I need to be careful for now. I turn away from the vines and look down the dark hall. Shivers run through my spine as I walk down it, fear taking over my mind.
I need to stay strong so I can escape with them. I just sigh and walked to the end of the hall. Nothing happened that I know of as I made it to the end. The hall had a door at the end, it was completely white along with the doorknob. I looked at it until I mustered enough courage to turn the doorknob. The knob was warm, like someone held it right before me.
I just shrugged off the suspicion and opened the door. I now knew why the doorknob was warm, there was a little fire right next to the door. Luckily it was just a small fire, or the room could be in fire right now. I look around the room, all I see is the small fire and another door at the other end of the room.
There was something off with this room but I couldn't place my finger on it. The room only seemed to have the fire but I wasn't sure about that. I slowly entered the room and walked towards the door. I was only halfway towards the door and I heard a slam behind me. I turned around to see the door closed itself, this side of the door was completely black with a blood red doorknob.
"Oh f*ck this." I said as I ran to the door.
I immediately opened the door to reveal another room with more doors leading in different directions. There was a door on my left, right, and in front of me. The door to my left was painted a neon green. The right door was painted a light purple ,and the front door was painted a checkered pattern of black and yellow. The front door had the exact same pattern of Taxey's rose, I thought.
I looked to the neon green door and decided to explore that first. I closed the door behind me and went towards the neon green door. I opened it up to see a painting in the back of the room. The painting had a boy that looked a little older than me in the painting.
He had dark brown hair that covered one of his eyes, and he also wore a black and neon green headset. His eyes were closed ,his face had a placid expression and he held a single neon green rose. He wore a plain with t-shirt with black at the end of the sleeves and collar. He then had grey skinny jeans with black and purple shoes. Neon green roses were scattered right where he stood.
I stood there staring at the painting thinking that it would attack me but it never did. I cautiously walked into the room and saw a peice of paper on the ground in front of the picture. I was thinking back to the key ,way when I first came here and I was scared of what could happen.
I cautiously inched toward the piece of paper until my feet were millimeters from it. I kneeled down to pick it up and when I had it in hand nothing happened. I stood back up I read what was on it.
"Deadlox, nickname Ty." I read out loud, that was a pretty cool name.
"Hello there." I heard a voice say out.
I looked up to see 'Deadlox' now opened his eyes, he had crimson colored eyes. I stepped back from him but hesitated, he didn't seem to be hostile.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He said, he seems to be so kind.
"Don't worry, I'm just a bit jumpy." I replied, he looked at me with a little friendly smile.
He didn't seem to be a threat so I calmed down and I stepped back forward. He smiled wider and somehow stepped out of the painting. He stepped off the frame and jumped towards me. He landed in front of me, he still held the green rose in his hand. He was shorter than me ,only by a bit.
"By the way, what's your name. I saw you reading the paper so you know my name." Ty asked, placing the rose in between his headphone and hair.
"Oh, I'm Sky." I replied holding out my hand.
He shook my hand vigorously, he had a lot of energy. He let my hand go and smiled to me.
"Soo are you real or what?" I asked out of nowhere.
"O-oh well, that's a bit complicated." He trailed, I caught him off guard.
"Well go ahead, explain." I stated casually.
"Well if you want." He said.
"I was once human, but it all changed when I came here. I somehow came here, me and my best friend, Jerome. Then we met this girl, I forgot her name but she had a pretty weird outfit. This girl turned out to be a painting and tried to kill Jerome. But when we were right next to the exit ,she came out of nowhere and tried to attack Jerome but I got in her way."
"She cut off all the petals from my rose, and I miraculously was able to injure her to the point where she couldn't walk. Jerome watched as she ran away, he looked at me noticing my rose was destroyed. I could feel myself slowly dying, and I smiled. I smiled and told Jerome that it was ok as I pushed him back into the real world, he was screaming my name but I pushed him back." Ty was starting to tear up.
"I died, I died here alone but happy knowing that Jerome was alive. At first I would go to heaven or something, but no I stayed here and I became a part of the gallery. I don't know if I'm human or not but I am definitely dead." He finished, a single tear rolling down his cheek.
I stood there, astounded by the fact that I'm in the same situation. The girl he said was with him, he said she had a weird style. Could it be Taxey?
