Chapter 2
Sky was confused for the flux in the electricity, but when he looked back down ,he was even more confused. He wasn't in his formal attire anymore, but in a whole new fashion.
He wore a white tank top with a black and grey hoodie with intricate designs on it, as well as a gold amulet with a purple gem in the middle. He also wore grey pants with red sneakers, and on his hands were black and white gloves that stopped at his knuckles. Then to finish it off ,he wore sunglasses on the top of his head, along with a ponytail held together by a yellow band resting on his shoulder.
Holy sh*t, Sky thought, when did I get in these? This looks like my MC character's skin.
Then the flickering came back and this one didn't catch Sky by surprise. After the flickering stopped, Sky quickly made up his mind to get out of this place. So he started to sprint down the hall and he found out ,no one was there anymore.
Where is everyone, Sky thought.
He ran past the statues and down the stairs, taking two at a time. When he made it to the bottom ,the man behind the desk wasn't there anymore. This made Sky panic even more to know he was probably alone in an eerie building. Sky immediately ran to the glass door, not noticing it was completely dark outside, and pushed it forward.
Click
Sky pushed again.
Click.
Sky kept pushing on the door and only got clicks as a response.
"Goddammit." Sky yelled out in frustration.
Sky stepped back from the doors which were shaking slightly from Sky's efforts to get out. He sighed and tried to think of a way out.
There can't be an emergency exit ,Sky thought, I was in every room and there isn't one.
He sighed in defeat, knowing he was stuck in this gallery. He turned his back on the front door and was taken by surprise to hear footsteps. Sky picked up his head and looked around ,hearing footsteps around him, it seemed like it came from the whole gallery. Sky looked back and forth, trying to find the source of the footsteps. The footsteps seemed to get louder each second, and it seemed to come from down the hall. Sky ,from this point on, covered his ears and hesitated to follow the footsteps down the hall.
After a minute, Sky couldn't take the sound anymore and decided to confront it. He kept his hands over his ears as he walked down the hall. He kept walking until he saw the sinister fish again. Nothing was out of place ,but the footsteps were the loudest here.
After minutes of loud pounding Sky wanted to leave the room, so he ran back to the top floor. As he ran back ,the sound of the footsteps became softer until it became a low thumping below his feet. Sky kept running until he came to a stop in front of the huge painting. Sky rested his hand on his knees as he took a breather in front of the huge painting. Sky looked at it and noticed to see it changed its appearance, then he noticed blue ink leaking out of the frame. Sky looked at the ink and thought this was just crazy bullsh*t.
Sky kept panting as the ink oozed down the wall, masking the white paint under it. After catching his breath, Sky walked over to the ink and inspected it. The ink had no origin and it seemed that the ink was somehow creating itself as it oozed down the wall. Sky took some on his finger and it seemed to be more like paint than of ink. Sky flicked it off his finger and back on the wall and decided he needed to get out of here before something bad could happen.
Sky turned his head ,looking back to where he just ran. The footsteps were still thumping but Sky needed to get out of this horrifying place. Just as Sky took a step away from the painting, big red letters were stamped in front of him. Sky jumped back from the magically appearing letters. He tripped and fell ,landing on his butt. Sky shuffled back from the letters but they stopped appearing. Sky stayed still, making sure the letters won't pop up again. Sky slowly stood up and looked at the letters. They spelled out: COME SKY.
Sky swore under his breath, questioning how it knew his name, and what 'it' was. After minutes of pondering about this he looked back at the blue paint. Sky just rubbed his eyes to make sure he was seeing correctly. When he looked back at it, he wasn't seeing things ,the blue paint formed into words. Sky was mentally slapping himself, telling himself not to read it and focus on just trying to leave.
Sky looked away from it ,then back ,then away, this kept going until curiosity got the best of him. He walked towards it, being careful not to step on the letters, Sky went over to the blue message waiting for him.
Sky made it over successfully, not stepping on any paint, and read the blue paint. It said: Come down below Sky I have something to show you.
Well that is definitely nightmare fuel ,Sky thought.
Sky was now having second thoughts on going downstairs, but what option is there? Sky sighed and decided to go down and try to at least break down the door. Sky left the paint as he walked towards the stairs. He covered his ears with his hands and proceeded down.
The footsteps still resonated around the building as Sky walked to the door. Sky went to it and decided to try and break it. Sky noticed the darkness and paid no attention to it. Sky brought one hand down from his ear and he heard the loud footsteps, ripping apart his eardrum. Sky quickly made his elbow slam on the glass door and it did nothing. Sky punched at it and it didn't budge.
He placed his hand back over his ear again after the failed attempts. He sighed and tried again. He pulled down both of his hands and slammed into the door with all his might, it still didn't work. Sky yelled in frustration as he placed his hands back over his ears. He looked at himself on the stainless glass, he could see his outfit and something caught him by surprise.
He no longer had his brown reddish eyes but golden bright ones instead. All he could manage to say was how. As he looked at himself ,he didn't notice the sound of the footsteps lessen to just a small echo. When he did notice, he slowly lowered his hands hoping the loud noise wouldn't come back.
After a few moments ,Sky decided to go back to the fish. He didn't know why he wanted to go back to it, but something was pushing him to do it. He started to walk to the hallway, the lights flickering as he did. He kept going until he saw the rails again.
Why does this happen to me, Sky asked himself.
He looked around the room, noticing that something different. One of the rails surrounding the fish was gone and replaced with blue footprints.
Well this just can't get anymore creepy.
He slowly walked over to the footprints, inspecting it. He stepped over them and got closer to the painting. The footprints were pointing in the direction of the painting. He looked down on it, the fish only a foot away from him. Sky pondered on what to do now, he had the idea to step on it but he can damage the painting.
He kept on thinking of what to do until he leaned up too close. He leaned his body only a bit more and he lost his balance. He fell forward and quickly covered his face for impact. Instead of hitting the painting he fell into a pool of paint with a splash. His whole body was sinking in it until he tried to swim back up. His head resurfaced along with a hand ,trying to grab the railings. He gasped for air as he reached out, but something was pulling him down.
He nearly had the railing until he was violently pulled down. His head went back down into the paint as the thing kept pulling him down further. Sky kept his eyes closed and his hands reaching down to pull off the thing holding onto his ankle. He couldn't find it, there was nothing on his ankles but his own hands. He couldn't hold his breath any longer and he needed to breath. He was getting lightheaded and he was becoming weaker each second. Sky reached up to where the surface is, hoping he could go back. He was losing consciousness.
