Chapter 1

Sky and his parents settled down for breakfast. His mother has made chocolate chip pancakes and bacon ,but she only made that for special days. It wasn't exactly a special day, well not for Sky. Today, Sky and his family were going to a famous art exhibit ,and Sky thought it would be a bit boring. As he ate ,he hid the distaste for his upcoming event, he hid it because he wanted to keep his parents happy.

His parents were the best family he could ever have, they were always happy, fancy, and rich. They acted so humble, polite, tidy, and they were the perfect relationship. Then came their perfect son, Sky. They raised their son to be like them. When he was in their sights he was their perfect angel, but when they were nowhere near him he was a little devilish.

Sky was a gamer, he loved to play any video game. He would play highly rated games, but the games he loves to play are Minecraft, Gmod, GTA ,and sometimes Happy Wheels. Whenever his parents see him play those games though, they would always put it down by saying it was 'useless' and 'violent'. He would even play with some of his friends ,and even swear whenever he raged on a game. He loves playing games and had a passion for it, but he always had time for his parents.

"Sky,dear, can you place our plates in the sink, and when you do go and change." Sky's mother asked.

"Okay mother." Sky answered.

Sky got up from the table, grabbing the plates and went to the sink to place them there. After he did so ,he went to his room which was lost in his giant house.

Once he got to his room, he opened the white door to reveal his spacious room. His walls were painted light blue ,and the carpet was a clean white. Inside the room was a king sized bed with giant pillows, silky sheets, and soft blankets. Next to the bed was a desk with a laptop on top of a stack of papers, and a golden yellow handkerchief. He also had a wardrobe made of the finest wood filled up with all of his clothes. Then he had a few windows here and there with a mirror next to the desk. He closed the door and went to his wardrobe. He opened the wardrobe door and looked through his clothes. He looked for his fancy clothes, which were hidden under all his t-shirts ,hoodies ,and jeans.

After rummaging through his clothes, he managed to find a fancy white shirt ,black formal pants, and some socks. He took off his pajamas and changed into that. After that ,he looked into the mirror and combed his hair , then made sure nothing was out of place. He was tall and a bit lean with brown curly hair, bouncing whenever he moved. He had brown eyes with a hint of red, he also acquired his father's face. He looked at himself again to make sure he looked okay. Soon he headed towards the door until he remembered his handkerchief. He turned back around and went to the desk to get it. He picked up the handkerchief bearing his name and headed out.

He went downstairs and went to the front door where his parents waited, already ready. He slipped on the black, leather shoes while also placing the handkerchief in his shirt pocket. They headed out the door, his father locking the door behind them. They walked over to the silver Honda, and entered with his father in the driver's seat, the mother next to him and Sky in the back. The father put the key in the car and turned it, letting the engine spark to life. He shifted the gears to reverse and backed out of the driveway. After that ,he glided down the street, following the GPS's commands.

Sky rolled down his window and poked his head out. The wind blew his hair around as the car drove to the exhibit. He looked outside the car to see the towering houses on each side of the street. After ten minutes or so ,the houses disappeared and they left Sky's neighborhood behind. The houses were soon replaced with little shops and cafés. People littered the sidewalks, exploring the big town they lived in. Sky actually envied their simple lives, no huge expectations and no planned out lives.  His father turned to the right and Sky could see the exhibit down the street. The building had windows showing on every side of it. It was painted completely white except for the black letters spelling: Guertena's Art Gallery. Sky thought the building would be painted with every color ever created, but it looked plain not extraordinary. Sky sighed and pulled his head back in. He rolled his window back up as his dad began to parallel park. After a minute, their car fitted perfectly between the small space.

"Ok Sky, now that we're here you need to be at your highest behavior." His father stated, turning around to face Sky.

Sky nodded and opened his car door. He got out of the car and his parents followed after him. They now stood in front of the tall, white building, the glass doors begging them to come in. Sky's parents took the lead and went into the building, Sky trailing after them. They pulled open the doors and entered the gallery.

Everything was painted white, except for a brown desk on the side. The room was small with a hall facing the doors and stairs next to the desk. A man in a suit stood behind the desk, and on the desk was a book and some pamphlets.

"Sky do you have your handkerchief?" His mother asked.

"Mm-hm." Sky answered.

"Ok then, make sure you don't lose it ,ok?"

Sky nodded and followed them to the desk.

"Welcome to the art gallery. I hope you enjoy Guertena's works." The man greeted them.

"Oh we will." Sky's mother said kindly.

"Um, mother is it ok if I can go ahead and look around?" Sky asked.

His mother looked at him with a stern look then nodded with approval. Sky turned to the hall and started to walk down it. The walls on the hall didn't bare any art until Sky saw some railings up ahead with people looking over them. Sky looked at it confused until he saw what the railings were surrounding.

The railings surrounded a huge painting on the ground. The painting had a huge fish with sharp teeth and a light hanging from its forehead. The background was a murky blue with black swirling in it. Sky was fascinated and also terrified. It was a true work of art but it also showed the terrors in the dark. Sky shivered looking at the fish and walked over to the pedestal. It was called: "----- Of The Deep"

Sky didn't know one of the words. Sky looked up from the pedestal and saw another painting. It was wide and very big, and it looked like a dis-figured mother scolding a dis-figured child. Sky chuckled at that because it looked so much when his mother scolded him. He looked around the room for more art to look at, but just found another hallway behind him and nothing else. He shrugged and went down the hallway.

Like the last hallway, it had no art bearing the walls. Then he made it into a small room with a statue and a small painting on the opposite wall. The painting had a man looking to the side. It was titled, Sky read: "The Coughing Man" Then he looked over to the rose sculpture. It had a huge rose connected to a thorny, green vine which curled around on the base, and around the base were some red rose petals. It had so much detail that Sky thought it was real. The petals were painted pure ,bright red and the vine had the brightest green on it ,with hazelnut thorns sticking out. Whenever Sky looked back at the sculpture ,it seemed to grow in beauty with each glance. The title was :"------- of Spirit" He didn't know one of the words. Well, that must've taken at least a year, Sky thought. After admiring the sculpture, he went back to the front desk. His parents weren't there anymore so Sky decided to go upstairs. The stairs had nothing but white.

God, what is it with the white, Sky thought.

Once Sky stood at the top stair ,there were paintings in front of him and a few statues to the right of him with another hall. There were more people up here. Sky walked to the paintings and saw a kid who looked like his age. Well at least I'm not here alone, Sky thought to himself. The kid was looking at a painting with a man hanging upside down. Sky then turned around to see three statues, surrounded with railings. The statues were like headless girl mannequins, except it seemed they were made out of smooth, black stone. The statues wore red, yellow, and blue dresses. Sky walked past it and down the hall ,which actually had art on the walls. There were a few paintings but one kind of stood out to Sky. It had a woman in a red dress, red eyes ,and long, brown hair. Sky read the sign under it and it was titled: "The Lady In Red"

Well that's obvious, Sky thought.

He continued down the hall to see it took a left. He followed the hall to see more art, each one more elaborate than the last. Then the hall made another turn to the right. Sky continued following the hall until the wall was taken over by a huge painting in the middle of it. It was wide as half the wall and nearly as tall as the wall. It had painting strokes that created blurred pictures. Sky looked at the huge painting ,only making out a blurred picture of the painting of the red lady. Sky thought the painting had to have more meaning if it was this complicated. As he studied the painting, all he was able to make out was someone who was blonde wearing a pink dress and possibly a red rose. Sky sighed and eventually gave up on the painting. It was just a mash of yellow, pink, grey, red, green, and blue paint strokes. Then he decided to go back to look at more art until the lights began to flicker. Sky stopped mid-step, looking up at the flickering lights. They kept flickering for a few seconds until they returned back to normal, but something seemed to be something off now with the gallery. The calming feeling of the gallery suddenly changed to a sinister, life-in-danger sort of feeling, and Sky didn't like one thing about it.
