Toxic
Scott couldn't get the intoxicating boy out of his head. He couldn't even focus on the rest of the shopping day he had planned with Alex.
Mitch's eyes, his high voice, the pep in his step as he walked away from the pair. The way he swung his hips. Scott could feel a problem starting to make him feel uncomfortable.
"Scott. Buddy. Come on. You have got to focus on me or we are going home." Alex says, snapping his fingers in front of Scott's face. Scott nods saying, "Sorry. I'm just...uh..." Alex laughs quietly. "It's okay man. Let's go back to the apartment." Alex suggests. Scott nods and gets up off of the bench he was sitting on.
They walk back through the mall in silence. They reach the Sephora store front and Scott slows to a stop. He gazes in at the gorgeous brunette who is helping a customer.
Mitch glances up at Scott, meeting his eyes and sending Scott a dimpled smile before looking back at the customer.
"Scott." Alex says, grabbing Scott's hand. "Come on. You're gonna creep him out." Alex forcibly drags him away from the store front and out of the mall.
Creep him out? What the hell? Mitch gave me his number. Scott thought to himself.
They got into Scott's car and drove back to Scott and Alex's shared apartment in tense silence. Alex and Scott walked up to their apartment and Alex fumbled to get the door open, nervous by how close Scott was to him. Alex finally opened the door and walked through the threshold into their apartment.
Scott immediately goes to his room, phone in hand. As he shuts the door, Alex collapses on to the counter with a blank expression on his face. I should be happy for him, shouldn't I? Alex thinks to himself.
Scott looks down at the contact displayed on his phone. Mitchie Grassi. Two little hearts were sitting next to the name. I'm gonna text him. Scott thought to himself. "I'm gonna text him." He says out loud to himself.
He presses the little messaging symbol next to the contact information. It brings him to his messaging app. He hesitates before typing his message.
Hey... It's Scott. Scott stares at it for a while before deleting it and typing another.
Hey! It's Scott. From Sephora. He reads over it before deleting it and writing another.
Hey! It's Scott. He nods, accepting the message and sending it. It's simple, and to the point. He liked it.
Mitchie Grassi: You mean that hottie that ran away from me? Scott blushes. The boy isn't even there and he can make Scott blush.
Yeah... That one. He was a weird one. Really nervous about being around a hot guy. Scott sends it without thinking it over. Oh well. Too late now. Scott thinks.
Mitchie Grassi: Oh really? I couldn't tell. A small smiley face was next to the text. Scott chuckles quietly before responding.
Yeah. He was. That's why he ran off. Scott sends the text and decides to get up and grab a water bottle from the fridge. He emerges from his room to see Alex leaning against the counter with a blank expression on his face, staring at Scott's door.
"Alex?" Scott asks cautiously. "You okay?" Alex's eyes slowly move from the door to Scott. "Yeah. I'm fine. Just thinking is all." He dismisses quickly. Scott nods slowly before moving around him and opening the refrigerator and grabbing a water bottle. He walks back to his room and shuts the door quickly behind him. That was weird. Scott thinks about the encounter he just had with Alex.
He glances down at his phone to see that Mitch had texted him back.
Mitchie Grassi: Oh. Well I wish I could've stayed longer. But work... Scott nods thoughtfully and responds quickly.
Well I wish you could've too. I was gonna ask you something. Scott sent the message without a second thought. Not even a second later, Mitch responded.
Mitchie Grassi: What?! What?! Scott laughs out loud at Mitch's response.
You wanna meet me at Starbucks tomorrow? Scott asks. He presses the send button confidently.
Mitchie Grassi: Well I do love coffee. He added a little smiley face on to the end. Scott chuckles.
Good. How does ten tomorrow morning sound? Scott was free all day tomorrow. He'd rather see him earlier, but he just didn't want to seem eager.
Sounds good Beanpole. "Beanpole?" Scott asks aloud.
Beanpole? Scott texts.
Yeah. Cause you're so tall. Mitch responds. Scott rolls his eyes at the clever nickname.
So it's a date? Scott asks.
It's a date. Mitch responds.
