Free To Skate

After cleaning the house, I left it and traveled down the busy streets. Though no one payed attention to me, I felt afraid. Victor was usually at my side. We would skate together, more like he would skate and I'd admire him.
The skating rink wasn't very far, yet it felt like it took ages for me to get there.

I didn't have to pay for skates, since I did own my own. Victor had bought me new skates, and I couldn't compete until I had gotten used to them. Victor would ice my feet and rub them while they were bruised from the new skates.

Smiling at the memory, I tied my skates up and slid across the surprisingly empty ice. It didn't take long to get a crowd. By now about twenty people have heard that I was skating. People would come from all the way across town just to watch me.

But the crowd made me kind of nervous. I felt like someone was after me, and I swore I saw Yurio now and then.

Stop making yourself paranoid, I shook my head and continued to skate. My feet danced on the ice in a rhythm, getting faster and faster. My eyes opened and I was hoping to see Victor, but I just saw a crowd of strangers. My heart sped up and I couldn't calm down.
I tried to calm myself, but I started hyperventilating in no time and I started to feel lightheaded. The crowd's faces turned from happy to worried. Black started dancing in my eyes and I suddenly misstepped, sending myself tumbling down.

        Where are you Victor?

*Victor's POV*

I was smiling at the cameras and answering my fans' questions.

"Why are you suddenly making a come back?" A lady pressed a mic to my face.
"I want to win this for my fiance, (Y/n). She's been suffering from Post Traumatic and I wanted to do something happy for us," I answered truthfully in the mic, then my mind wandered towards (Y/n). How is she holding up? I would break if she was at home, rocking herself to sleep and crying. My heart rocketed to my stomach.

"So is that why (Y/n) hasn't been in a competition," the lady asked.

"...Yes... she panics around people if I'm not around... after her mother died... we've been trying to help her," I took a deep breath.

Yokav waved me over and I gave him a strange look, "excuse me for a moment," I told the lady and walked over to him. Yurio had a small smirk on his lips and I knew he was holding the full smirk in.

I couldn't shake the feeling of dread as I felt goosebumps pepper my skin and my heart suddenly started to speed up.

Yokav gave me the phone with a grave face. Nervously taking the phone, I could hear my voice shake, "hello?"

"Is this Victor Nikiforov?" A man spoke on the other line.
"Yes?" I furrowed my eyebrows, looking at Yurio, whose smirk was growing.

"Your fiance, (Y/n), collapsed while skating. The doctors said she was lacking the oxygen."

Now I knew why I felt dread. Holding my curses, I gripped the phone tightly in my hand, "if she wakes up before I'm there, then tell her I'm coming."

Hanging up, I threw Yokav his phone.
"Oh no, no, no. You are not going. You have a competition," he narrowed his eyes at me.
"I am going. She's my fiance and I'm the only one whose been there for her since her mother died," I scoffed. "But the com-"

"I'm going," I rolled my eyes and walked away, ignoring his shouts of protests and the reporters' questions. I knew all cameras were on me, but I didn't care. She's more important.

If I hadn't left her. If I answered her cried of protests before I left the house.... if I had taken her with me...

"Oh god...." I brushed my hands through my silver hair. This is my fault. I could picture her crying, panicking face as she was left alone, thinking she was in danger... that someone was out to get her.

And Yuri's smirk. My gaze hardened all of a sudden. He was happy that she had gotten hurt. He was glad when I left with him for the competition.

         I'm coming, (Y/n).
