Meet Your Idol
When I woke up, I was spammed with news notifications that were tagged with Victor, and when I checked them, every single news article said mostly the same thing. "Victor Nikiforov retiring to coach skater, Yuri Katsuki," I murmered to myself before widening my eyes and reading it again.
I tried to calm myself. Wait, if Victor is coaching Yuri... is Yuri going to Russia or is Victor coming to... "Oh my gosh! OH MY GOSH! WHAT IF HE CAME HERE?!" I squealed.
"Go outside to scream," my mom yelled to me.
Grabbing my skates, I raced to the Ice Palace. "Maybe skating will take my mind off of Victor Nikiforov."
Nope. As I was finally there and relaxing as I was skating. Yuri had to run in with the gray haired skater. I didn't know they were here at the time. I thought it was just some customers. Though, costumers are rare.
Taking in the music, I let my feet glide me across the ice. The melody soothes me and my lips slightly parted to take in a deep breath. Twirling and spinning was my favorite thing to do. I used to be in ballet so it was easy.
My hair whipped around me as I got faster. The music slowed and I felt more calm. The blades on my skates glowed in the light. My stamina was high, so I did toe loops and other things just for fun. I ended my little session with just stopping. Very little sweat was beaded on my forehead and I opened my eyes.
Right in front of me were two shocked boys and a happy Yuko. She was smiling at me, her eyes twinkling. One was Yuri and the other one...
My heart started beating faster. The gray hair... blue eyes...
He stood in front of me, his eyes widened and his mouth slightly open. "Uhm... sorry," I nervously started skating towards the rink exit. Yuri smiled at me, "that was amazing, (y/n)!"
"Thanks..." I looked at my feet shyly.
"That was..." Victor started, but nothing came out after that. I tilted my head slightly before taking off my skates and walking to the girls locker room.
Again, another notification from Yuko. Another video. I heard yelling and knew it was just a mom scolding her kids.
Opening the video, I was instantly greeted by me. My body swayed around lightly as I skated and did some twirls here and there. My speed increasing as my music got more intense. You could see Yuri and a little bit of Victor to the side.
When the video stopped, I was so embarrassed. My feet took me towards my house. When running, it doesn't take too long. I locked myself in my room and stared at my posters of Victor and some pictures I took with Yuri.
"This can't be happening. This is all too quick," I blinked slowly at the posters. My curtains blocked most of the sunlight out, except for the tiny sliver of faded light. You could see the dust flying in the room.
Many people said that I should compete. My breathing hitched. Skate? In front of millions? Judges? "Never," I breathed out. My dad always told me to compete for him, but I hate skating in front of audiences. Besides, I could never compete against Yuri. It's been his dream to get a gold medal.
I dug through my bag for my skates. "Oh no no no! I left my skates there!" I sighed. "Well now I have to go back," I said, already out of breath from just thinking about making the trip back.
Getting up, I quietly walked out of my house. The walk was pretty lonely, but I survived. The Ice Palace was still open, thankfully.
I snuck in, and grabbed my skates, but then I heard music and I was really tempted to go out there and skate.
I never noticed how I was reaching for the handle. The door opened quietly and I saw my idol skating. He looked peaceful. Where is Yuri? I looked around before quietly walking in.
I didn't know what I was doing, but I watched him. He might yell at me later, but I couldn't take my eyes off of him.
It always happened while I was watching Yuri skate. Their moves are just so mesmerizing. His peacefulness matched the moon's glow from the small windows. They made his hair even more silvery and defined his body even more.
Again, before I knew it, I was taking a video. Just for myself. Through the phone, I watched his moves and replayed them in my head.
He must've noticed me sooner or later because his head snapped towards me. A blush erupted on my (s/t) skin. "Ehh... sorry V-Victor.. I was getting my skates and... a-and the music was so beautiful that I couldn't resist. Your skating is amazing," I stopped recording and put the phone quickly down.
I'm kind of jealous of Yuri. I stared at Victor. He had a smile and his eyes were closed, "thank you! Your skating is also amazing. You should... wait. Never mind," he suddenly frowned and looked at his skates.
Shaking my head, knowing what he was asking of me. "Bye Victor. Tell Yuri that he better try his hardest!" Then I left, forgetting my skates yet again. Worst of all, my phone was in my skates.
