A loud knocking echoed through the small and simple apartment in New York, bringing Skadi Mikaelson out of unconsciousness, her pale skin, clothes and dark hair were coated with blood, a devasted sigh broke through her chaste lips while she forced her hazel eyes open.

She had failed, once more...

"Brother dearest is at the door." Henrik's voice called from the other side of the closed shower curtains, Skadi rolled her eyes at her twin brother's words and pushed herself up, the still fresh blood causing her to nearly fall a couple of times, she weakly turned the shower on and stood under the warming water.

Another knock was heard and it was another that Skadi ignored by scrubbing her hands against her face to clean the blood, allowing it to fall down her clothes and body and down the tub's drain. "He seems rather impacient." Henrik chuckled, the sound of her wet shirt dropping on the ground bouncing off the walls of the bathroom, followed by the unzipping of her pants and her undergarments.

"Skadi I know that you can hear me." Niklaus Mikaelson's voice boomed across the apartment, making it shake slightly, something that Skadi knew would make her neighbours complain after her brother left. "What do you think he wants?" Henrik questioned.

No words left Skadi's lips.

She reached out of the shower and grabbed her towel, wrapping it around her body before stepping out, the mascara was running down her face slightly, her hazel eyes were dull and lifeless. "You look like death." Henrik commented, peering down to his twin sister.

Her hazel eyes rolled at his words as she side stepped her brother and walked to her bedroom, taking advantage that her twin brother wouldn't follow her until she was clothes to pull her undergarments onto her body, she then pulled a sweater over her head, allowing it to fall onto her hips with ease before pulling on some tight dark faded jeans, followed by socks and a pair of beat up trainers.

The insatiable knocking still rocked her whole apartment and it didn't stop until she pulled it open.

"Niklaus..."

Skadi greeted, her voice hoarse and dull, her hazel eyes flashing up to meet her older brother's eyes, they didn't look anything alike, Niklaus had blondish hair and blue eyes, blue eyes that were pulled into a glare so nasty and annoyed that it could melt a person's flesh off their bones.

"Doesn't our darling brother looking dashing." Henrik commented from behind her, resting his chin on her shoulder with ease.

"You should know by now that when I come for you, you are to be ready sister." Niklaus snapped, pushing past her and into her dull apartment, allowing his blue eyes to scan the scenery, the faint scent of blood tickling his nose, something Skadi knew he could smell, prompting her to be quicker than him and reply to the question on the tip of his tongue "I got clumsy feeding last night. Got it all over my Gucci outfit."

Niklaus turned to her, catching the pout that had formed on her lips at the mention of the outfit, her eyes shinning with disappointment. A sigh left his lips before he turned to walk to her bedroom, "We're traveling, we leave today." he told her, his back turned towards her as he walked down the hall to her bedroom.

Skadi flashed in front of him, stumbling slightly when she came to a halt and pressed a hand against his chest, motioning him to stop which he thankfully did, "Travel where?" she questioned, the urgency of the question burning through her lips and hitting the taller man with brunt force.

He had forgotten how his littlest sister adored to know everything, ever small detail no matter how insignificant, but there was no way in heaven or hell that he was telling her the location of their destination, it was a one-way ticket for her to throw him out of her house and ignore him for the next century.

Hell it was what every single one of his siblings would do.

"It's a surprise." he told her instead, giving her an easy smile that usually she would believe, an easy smile that she believed would guide her through any dark time their family was going through.

"He's lying." Henrik told her, sitting on the couch and looking down at his nails in a rather bored tone, "He's taking you to Mystic Falls, he's found the newest Petrova döppleganger."
