     ~Lachlan's P.O.V.~

Vikk has the right to be jealous. My water power has a bit of variety to it. Not only can I summon a fudging geyser and blow things to bits, but I can also control the temperature and the force. This means I can summon a scalding hot geyser to wreck your face, or, I can summon a tiny little spout of nice cool water. Vikk on the other hand doesn't really have much of a choice. His power always results in a monstrous spike of minerals jutting from the ground and destroying pretty much anything in its path. Maybe one day he'll discover a way to summon the spikes in a different way.

"The last skeleton just burned, and I don't see any creepers. By my calculations, if we keep heading West in a straight line, we should be at Waryville in a couple hours. You ready?" Vikk states, slinging his sword across his back.
"Yep."
     "Alrighty then, follow me!"

     And so Vikk starts forward, map spread out in front of him, leading us to the first people we'll have seen in one thousand years.

~~~
     "I've got a bad feeling about this Vikk..."
     "Yeah... I can see why."
     After quite a bit of walking, making random small talk along the way, the town of Waryville came into view. At first the town seemed peaceful and normal. But now that we're getting closer, the unmistakable spindly figures of Endermen are visible wandering the streets. Should've known Herobrine would have been here already... I'm surprised it's not burnt to the ground. And I'm not sure that's a good thing... One of the towering figures turns in our direction, and I notice something strange.
     "Vikk look... Those aren't your average Endermen."
     "How so?"
     "Their eyes... Their eyes are white."
     Vikk squints ahead, and judging by the look on his face, also sees that the normal purple glowing eyes on the Endermans faces are altered. Now instead they shine ominously white. I watch on in cautious curiosity as a person wearing worn out brown clothing passes by a partrolling Enderman. The Enderman glares at the man, who with a fearful expression, turns on his heels and scurries away.
     "That's weird... The man over there just looked directly at the Enderman... So why isn't it attacking?"
     "I think I have an idea..." Vikk responds thoughtfully.
I glance at him questioningly.
     "As you can see one, their eyes are white, and two, they don't seem to attack when looked at. So what I'm assuming, based on those two things, is that those Endermen are under Herobrines control. And when you think about it, if Herobrine were to choose any of the mobs in Minecraft, Endermen are probably the best choice. Not only are they extremely strong, but they can teleport between dimensions as well."
     "That's a really good point actually... We'll have to be careful when we go into the town and... Um. What are we doing in there again?"
     "Seeing if we can find a map or get someone to tell us where the nearest jungle is. And preferably if there's a jungle temple inside of it."
     "Why?"
     "Well the prophecy said that 'The next hero to free, is hidden amongst, trees that touch the sky. Sealed away, behind cobblestone walls, on the floor that opposites high.' The only two biomes with large trees are jungle biomes and mega taiga biomes. And when it says 'Sealed away, behind cobblestone walls, on the floor that opposites high.' Where do you think it's referring to?" Vikk questions.
"Um... I mean the only two structures in minecraft with cobblestone walls are mob spawners and jungle temples... And mob spawners don't have multiple floors... So a jungle temple?" I guess.
"Exactly. And 'on the floor that opposites high' must mean whoever it is, he's on the basement floor."
"...Wow. How the fudge are you so smart, Vikk?"
"Well I take the time to think things over."
"Are you implying something there?" I question, raising an eyebrow.
"Maybe..."
"Jag."
Vikk giggles, "Anyways. We should probably put these cloaks on... Just in case."
"Just in case of what?" I inquire, catching the wispy clock as Vikk tosses it to me.
"Just in case someone recognizes us. Considering the circumstances, it's probably better we keep our identities hidden."
     I nod and we approach the entrance to the city. As I walk, the notion of being hidden replays in my mind and I pull the cloaks hood further over my head. Suddenly Vikk is stopping dead in his tracks, his eyeballs darting around. I stop beside him, and I'm about to ask I'm what wrong when...
     "Lachlan? Lachlan where are you?"
     "What do you mean Vikk? I'm standing right here in front of you." I affirm, trying to look him in the eye. But he seems to look past me.
      Now turning in my direction, Vikk furrows his brow. "How come I can't see you?"
      Vikk can't see me? Then that must mean... My thoughts fizzle out and I concentrate on being visible again. Vikk jumps back in surprise, his eyes widening as they lock onto me. Realization dawns on me, and apparently Vikk too.
      "My/your ability is turning invisible..." We state in unison.
      Vikk and I smile and chuckle lightly at that perfect timing. Vikk speaks next.
      "How did you figure that out?" Vikk questions with genuine interest.
     "I don't know! I was thinking about being hidden and then it just sorta happened."
     "Really? Try doing it again!"
     I nod and focus on 'disappearing' once again. Vikks eyes light up and I can only assume that means it worked.
     "That's a pretty awesome ability! You think you can keep it up while we're in Waryville?"
     "I don't see why not. Unless there's like a time limit or something I should be able to keep this up."
     "Good. Just like tap me every once in a while so I know your still with me, okay?"
     "Alright. Lead the way then Vikk."
     "Will do."
     Vikk turns around and we officially enter the city. Around every corner there seems to be an endless amount of Endermen, constantly patrolling the streets. The people walking around seems absolutely miserable, each of them wearing the same defeated expression and hanging their head.
      Unlike Chesterfield, which was large with what seemed to be advanced buildings, this town is tiny and ancient. The structures are worn and dusty, everything made of wood and cobblestone. In chesterfield there had been signs of broken Quartz and other valuable minerals.
     "Why do I get the feeling we won't be finding a library here?" I murmur quietly to Vikk.
     "It looks like we're going to have to ask around..." Vikk whispers back, casting a sideways glance as an Enderman passes by.
     Up ahead I see a few small children, laughing and chasing after eachother. I smile for a second until I see an Enderman growl at them, whacking one on the back of the head. Anger then swells inside me as the joyful expressions on the children's faces instantly vanish, and they sulk away. As much as I want to go punch that Enderman square in the face, I know I have to keep hidden. One glance at Vikk's tense body and I can tell he feels the same way.
    Soon enough Vikk and I stumble across the main plaza, which is in the same sorry state as the rest of this town. Surprisingly no Endermen litter the area, yet still many slumped figures are leaning against the walls of buildings, faces downcast with hopeless postures. A few glances are sent our way, but those gazes are soon redirected to the ground. I watch sadly as a young girl, most likely in her early teens, approaches the dusty well in the centre of the plaza. A infant rests on her hips and she sets it down, brushing back her dirty blonde hair. She lowers a rusty bucket down into the well, and when she draws it up, sighs in disappointment. There is no water. As the bucket pops away into her inventory and she begins to walk away, I tap Vikk on the shoulder.
     "Hey Vikk, you stay here and ask around. I'm going to turn back to normal for a minute." I explain quickly. "And I'll be right back."
     "Where are you going?" Vikk questions urgently.
     I gaze off in the direction where the girl is headed. "To give a little hope."
     Before Vikk can question me, I dash away after the girl and infant, who are now shambling down an alley. I quickly glance over my shoulder to make sure no one is watching before turning visible again. I walk up behind her, lowering my hood so I don't seem menacing.
     "Excuse me, Miss?" I call out, the girl whipping around.
     "What do you want?" She demands fearfully, freezing up.
     I hold up my hands, "I'm not going to hurt you, I promise." I assure her, stepping closer.
     She eyes me down warily as I approach, hugging the infant tighter to her hip.
     "Here, let me see that bucket." I state, the girl cautiously handing it to me.
     Kneeling down on the ground I summon a small spout of cool clean water from the ground. I let the water flow into the bucket before standing back up and holding out the bucket with a smile. With wide eyes and hanging jaw, she shakily accepts the water. I step back, watching as the bucket of water vanishes into her inventory and confusion and awe shimmers in her eyes. Even the infant has a shocked look. I toss up my hood, nodding my head at her respectfully and turning to walk away.
     "Wait! How did you..." She begins as I turn to face her once again. She shakes her head as to dismiss a thought and continues, "Who are you?"
     I stare at her blankly for a couple seconds. I really hope I don't regret this...
     "The names Lachlan." I reply simply before turning and briskly walking away.
     But I didn't miss the flash of surprise, recognition, wonder, and hope in that girls eyes before I was gone.
Questions of the chapter:
Do you guys want me to add in some more youtubers? (The pack will have never met them before)
My answer: Welp sorry this question isn't really a question anymore but I won't be putting any other youtubers in 😆 Someone made a good point that this is supposed to be a Pack fanfic, so I'll leave other youtubers for a different book I have in mind ;)
