Kerrie, Kayley, Kaycee
The twins were heli-ported back to Springfield Hospital and doctors were waiting.
Everyone was a mess now. Police were all over the hospital. The press caught wind and hovered around the hospital entrance.
They secured a whole wing for the family. Ashley in a new room near Sarena. The twins are both in critical condition. Induced coma as they tried to treat dehydration and hyperthermia.
Icee, Victor, CJ, Tennille, Nola, and even Christopher were in the waiting room, trying to stay calm and hear how everyone was.
A doctor finally came in, and they didn't know who he was the doctor for. Icee and Victor jumped up.
"I'm here about Sarena St. James."
"That's Sarena Kelly-St. James," Victor said. "I'm her husband."
Victor walked over to the doctor.
"Your wife is fine. Bullet didn't hit any vital parts, the bullet was through and through. We stitched her up and medicated her and she is resting."
Victor let out a sigh of relief and rubbed a hand over his face. That was one piece of good news. If AKA would have shot her a few inches higher, maybe the outcome would not be as great. This was hard, and scary, thinking about losing the woman he loved.
He walked over to the rest of the family.
"Sarena is good everyone."
"Oh, we knew she was going to be fine! I'm sorry that bitch did what she did to my sister. If I could-" Tennille went one, but Victor stopped her.
"Sis, don't ever question yourself again. Live life, little sister, don't let it get to you."
He gave Tennille a big hug. Even though their father, Christopher was there, he still was the only man that had been in their life for over eighteen years.
The door opened again, and instead of a doctor, it was Primo Donatelli.
"Where's Kryssy? Where's my baby?"
Victor stood back up and walked to him. He did not know who contacted him, but he must have taken the first thing out of Italy to get here. The twins were missing fourteen hours at this point.
"Hey, she is being taken care of by the best of the best," Victor told him.
"And if we need more doctors, better doctors, I will pay. Anything!"
Two surgeons walked in. Icee jumped up, followed by Primo and Victor. The doctors approached them.
"We need to keep both of the ladies under..."
"Under?" Primo shouted out. "This cannot be good for my baby. I need you to do whatever you can to keep Kryssy and my daughter alive."
"We are-"
"You ain't doing enough bruh!" Icee said. "That's my wife and my two daughters in there."
"What else needs to be done? Whatever it is, we will do!" Primo said.
"And you are?" one of the doctors asked him.
"I'm her husband!" he lied.
"Tell us about our wives," Icee said, going on with the lie.
The doctors went on to say they would continue to monitor them but they would have to make a decision. They could try and get the babies out now, and then focus more on saving the twins. It was dangerous either way, leaving the babies in and hoping the twins pulled through on their own, or taking the babies who were only at seven and a half months. The decision was given to them.
Icee was devastated by this decision. "Fam, what should I do? I want my wife...I can't live without her, I can't."
Tennille came to hug Icee, as he fought tears.
"You know what you need to do Icee, we'll support you either way."
Primo, not even part of the family, also asked for the sisters' input.
They were going to have the babies delivered while both the ladies were under. That gave them a better fighting chance, although it put the babies at risk.
Primo went to see Krystle. He wished she never made him go away. He was a fool to leave her. If he was with her, this would not have happened. He loved her. He would never leave her side again, wherever that would be.
He picked up her hand and held it.
"Amore mio, ti amo così tanto, e niente di quello che dirai mai mi allontanerà di nuovo da te e dalla mia bambina
"My love, I love you so much, and nothing you ever will say will push me away from you and my baby girl again."
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring he wanted to give her before she shooed him away.
"Marry me, Krystle Kelly. I want us to be a family." He slid the ring on her finger. She looked so peaceful sleeping, at least to him that's what it looked like she was doing. "Our daughter will be fine, and you already told me what you will name her. Kerrie, your mother's named but spelled with a K, like you. So whenever you wake up, she will be ready to meet you."
Icee also went to see Kitty before the surgery. He looked down at his wife, helpless, tubes attached to her body. This was not the strong Kitty he met that day in Club 417. Her face was bruised because he knew she put up a fight. He could not imagine what she went through, he never wanted to know, he just wanted her to pull through and be the same Kitty.
He placed a hand on her forehead.
"Kitty baby, I'm here. You know how much I love you. How much I need you. I can't make it in this world without you. Please come back to me."
He wasn't even a praying man. He believed in God and went to church whenever Kitty dragged him, but he was not super religious at all. That day he said every prayer he knew and then some. He leaned on the rest of the sisters and prayed for the best. The family's pastor came and said prayers with them. Everything was so unreal to him.
Kerrie Kelly Donatelli was born first, three-pound, and seven ounces. Primo was there, cried as he held his daughter and hoped Krystle would soon be able to wake up and be okay.
The twins came next, and they were perfect though super small. Both were barely three pounds each. He couldn't even hold them yet, just stare at them while they were monitored.
"I can't name them yet," Kitty said to Tennille as they both stood and watched them. "Kitty was supposed to and we never got around to discussing it."
"Then she will name them when she wakes up."
"I have," they heard.
It was Kitty, awake and looking at them.
"Babe!" Icee rushed over to her and tried to hug her, but she was hooked up to the machine that beeped everything normal. "I love you woman, don't scare me like that again."
A doctor and a nurse rushed in.
"You're awake. Good. I just heard your twin has as well." The doctor started checking all her vitals. "You really are a fighter like your family says. Heart rate looks good, pressure low, you need more fluids, but you're good."
"Is she in pain?" Icee asked.
"Ice, I'm fine," she said, trying to sit up and yelled in pain, the monitors beeping away. "Why am I on all these machines? I'm fine."
"Babe, they had to take the babies, to make sure you were okay."
She tried to reach and rub her belly but winched in pain.
"Don't," Icee said, holding her hand.
"Are they-"
"They are fine. Beautiful. Like you."
She nodded. "Ashley's not okay, is she?"
Icee did not want to tell her. How did she know when she had been missing when Ashley started to get sick.
"It's okay, I feel her with me," she said, squeezing his hand. "That's why I want to name the oldest Kayley, nickname LeyLey for her."
"She would love that," Tennille said, wiping away tears.
"And Kaycee for the youngest, combo of my name and yours Icee."
"I love it. Kayley Kelly and Kaycee Kelly." He kissed her forehead. "And I love you."
The END
